Lovely meal and great service!
It’s was very dark in the upstairs dining room, we couldn’t see the food. Staff were a little distracted re-setting tables around us and chatting
The food was tasty . The bottles of wine were quite pricey and not the best iive had also it was the melot The service as improved so much . We did stop coming for a while because the last couple of times service but we are pleased by sataurdays service.
Great place very friendly
A party of 27 could be a bit hectic but this was not the case. Excellent food, service & attention to detail as always.
As always, a really lovely meal, all I will say is it’s a shame the macaroni cheese has been removed from the menu....
Had the afternoon tea - great food and a lovely atmosphere
Service was excellent throughout from booking right through to payment. The staff could not have been more accommodating. Add to that the quality of the food and the accommodation it would be difficult to find anywhere better.
Excellent service and good food.
We really enjoyed our meal in Harpurs restaurant and lived the sumptuous surroundings and the ambiance. Excellent al round. The food was delicious and the service was top notch.
Had the Feta Salad but I think the dish was taken out of the kitchen too early as it was missing feta (which I got in a bowl when I mentioned it) and wasn't dressed. Starter and Dessert were very tasty though
Food amazing staff outstanding couldn't do enough for you.
It was for a 21st birthday meal with friends and family The staff was amazing food was great I would like to say a big thank you for Kelly Arranging this evening.
Fantastic Sunday dinner with the family, lovely food and friendly service.
Lovely meal at Harpers and friendly service. A la carte dishes are really delicious and fantastic quality food.
Really delicious food and enjoyed a quiet lunch with a friend. Always love coming to the Harpurs for both food and drink!
We have dined on a few occasions at Harpurs, this time we ordered a starter each, which were both lovely, but the Fillet steak was to die for, perfectly cooked, fab chips, lovely sauce, great bottle of vino but no space for a pud...well done & thank you
Staff couldn't do enough to ensure we had the best time. First visit at the restaurant, first impressions weren't great as the bar downstairs was packed full of young lads and seemed rowdy. But once seated to our table the atmosphere was alot better. Me and my partner highly rated the food and would definitely return.
First time of visiting for both myself and my friend. We went for the Indian Tapas night, which was really nice. We had a lovely night and met some fab people. Look forward to our next visit!
The menu has expanded but I'm not sure this is a good thing as the service has suffered, especially if you done the same time as a large group. Prices have gone up significantly
The meal itself was fantastic but there was a long gap between starter and main which others in the restaurant didn't experience. When our roast beef sunday dinner arrived it was warm, not hot and served on cold plates. Thankfully gravy warmed it up.
Another superb meal, with deserts to die (or was that to diet...) for!! Thankyou 😊
Disappointing visit. Have been a few times before & all been ok. This time, despite making a booking, we were kept waiting at the table for drinks, menus (in short supply!) & food. Main course eventually arrived 11/4 hours after booking time! Even then the meat & potatoes arrived a few minutes before the veg & was going cold! I had to ask for a steak knife to cut my beef as some of it was tough!! I know it was Melbourne festival weekend, but the restaurant should have been prepared for this with adequate staff etc. I believe ‘walk-in’ customers were being served food in the bar, maybe that should have been restricted to ensure restaurant bookings had priority service. Other tables were getting the same poor experience as us too! May leave it a while before we return. The Dragon is always busy, but they cope much better.
