A restaurant and bar in the Harbourmaster hotel on Aberaeron's lovely Georgian harbour. We're independently owned and have been serving the best of local produce at breakfast, lunch and dinner since 2002. Proud of our team of chefs led by Ludo Dieumegard and to be in The Good Food Guide 2018, for the 16th year. We specialise in Welsh seafood, locally caught whenever possible - lobster, crab, prawns. We serve oysters and have an Oyster Happy hour! We serve Welsh beef, lamb from local farms, great vegetables from organic producers. All served by a great team of local front of house staff.
A very comfortable, well presented room with an excellent view of the harbour. A very good evening meal and breakfast.
From the minute we arrived we were made to feel welcome by every single member of the team. They were chatty and really helpful. The bar has a wonderful atmosphere and we ate both in the bar and the restaurant and the food was delicious. Will definitely return. We have wanted to visit for a few years and it was worth the wait.
We enjoyed on of the best meals that we have ever eaten. And it was supported by friendly, helpful staff which added to the enjoyment of the evening.
I could not have hoped for a more perfect stay at the Harbourmaster for my husbands birthday surprise. With the wonderful accompanying bar/restaurant this ensured that all our needs were catered for. During our stay we frequented the bar/restaurant for a leisurely drink on arrival, for evening dinner and again for breakfast. On each occasion we there was always staff available, who were friendly and extremely helpful. Our drinks were first class as was the food with the menu reflecting a very local and coastal feel. We loved the mixed atmosphere of it being a place where both locals and visitors were made so welcome.
Always a pleasure - this was our 3rd overnight stay. My only minor gripe was that I ordered a Peroni lager (my favourite) and instead of the usual Nastro Azzurro (Blue Ribbon) I was presented with the Red Label Peroni. This is an inferior weaker version and at the same price. The barman was happy to change it but the option's are not to my liking. Would be great if you could stock the Nastro Azzurro.
Can't fault it.
We had a lovely afternoon the food and service was excellent, we will be back . Diolch yn fawr
Couldn’t find fault at any level. Food, drink, service and atmosphere all excellent. Definitely return.
Although it was a short stay, it was a delight from start to finish. We enjoyed all aspects and were particularly impressed by the quiet professionalism and friendliness of all the staff we encountered. We'll be back for a longer stay.
Beautiful dining room, good range of menu items with several vegetarian options, nice wine list, friendly staff.
Considering it was wake it was a very pleasant evening thank you
Great service at a busy time of year
Excellent inventive food and fantastic service
The rooms were exceptionally clean and pleasant. The breakfast was excellent great produce well cooked. Our evening meal was disappointing-plaice with the bones left in made it difficult to eat and the slow cooked shin had a dry exterior. Staff were very helpful and enthusiastic just the few things mentioned let it down
Perhaps the best short stay we have experienced in recent years. We felt immediately at home. The room was spotless. The service was perfectly balanced and friendly. The food was so fresh and beautifully cooked. We hope to return - several times!
We have stayed at the Harbourmaster Aberaeron on a number of occasions over the past few years. The hotel is in a beautiful location, rooms are amazing - we stayed in the Aeron Queen which has just been redecorated, along with others in this part of the hotel. Excellent standard throughout. Dinner both nights was delicious and creative (Christmas time can be a diversion!) Choice of wines is extensive. Breakfast varied - excellent. Dining experience is a real treat - staff know how to look after guests/diners and really know the menu. Bar team are welcoming and have considerable knowledge about drinks - particularly local/regional product range. Overall we loved our stay and will be back …… all the very best to the team for 2019.
Very disappointed on this visit unfortunately. Drinks service extremely slow. Two drinks came after we had finished our starter. The crab linguine was practically crabless. Not the usual i have to say - it was New Year’s Eve and fairly busy but I would have expected this to be catered for.
Dined here twice during our say in the hotel. Excellent choice and quality of food. I chose fish and then beef for my meals which were both gorgeous. Very friendly front of house staff and the bar area is an added bonus.
Our second visit, but the first time dining in the restaurant. One of the most authentic and best planned Winter menus I have tasted in a long long time.
Fab location and fab food, I can highly recommend it
stayed many times and just seems to get better
Great hotel to stay in, staff very friendly and cannot do enough for you, food excellent, rooms are superb thanks for a wonderful stay
Good standard as usual.
