About Hammer and Pincers
Owners Sandra & Danny Jimminson were trained at the Savoy Hotel in London and after gaining further experience working in Switzerland, France and other high profile London restaurants, decided to settle close to where Danny grew up on the border of Nottinghamshire & Leicestershire.
We pride ourselves in sourcing some of the finest local ingredients, everything is made in house, We bake a selection of breads daily, make all our own desserts including the ice creams and sorbets, even all our accompaniments, horseradish, mayonnaise, ketchup & chutneys are made freshly on the premises.
Wonderful evening. Food was amazing. Really enjoyed ourselves.
It is one of my three favourite restaurants in Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire. Always an experience to dine there.
Absolutely stunning place to eat, food was just perfect, service faultless, A must eaterie to go to. ******OUTSTANDING ********
Excellent fine food, more or less at 1 Michelin star level.
We had a great evening the food was superb and the service and attention to detail was excellent.
Wonderful first visit, we will be back
Superb as always thank you,
This was our first visit after being given a voucher as a gift. We visited with our young daughter for Sunday lunch and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The waiter looking after us was excellent and all of the staff were helpful and friendly. The food was absolutely delicious. Will be back!
Our tasting menu was absolutely sublime and elements of the service at the table just added to a memorable evening!
We had a small wedding celebration lunch at Hammer and Pincers. The venue was wonderful, the food was absolutely delicious (we can highly recommend the beef) and our waiter Tom was so helpful and knowledgeable. It was a prefect afternoon and they really could not have done more - thank you!
Lovely peaceful and relaxing fine cuisine dining
Absolutely superb meals were enjoyed by all 4 of us. This pub is clearly more like a restaurant and as such prices are higher, but very good value. We will definitely return.
As usual - Very enjoyable
Great birthday evening with family as a party of 14.
We have been dining with you for 11years & the food in terms of flavours & presentation is always superb. We had such a lovely meal on Sat. I have given service 4 stars as each course came out incredibly quickly, straight after we’d finished the previous course. We had to ask for a break in between main & dessert.
The 10 course wine pairing meal made for a fascinating evening. The wines complimented the courses beautifully or perhaps it was the other way round. The last course of the beauvale cheese etc however was a huge disappointment to the 3 of us in the party. We found it unpalatable and in fact my daughter and I had the same symptoms during the night of stomach pain bloating and indigestion. The warm cheese was unpleasant and it’s base tasted very lardy. My husband was informed that the response to this course was 50/50 from customers, so why not change it?
Please thank Danny for the personal table service and his in depth knowledge of the food we were being served . Bren & danni
Excellent food and service.
Have driven past this restaurant many times and wish we hadn't left it until now to try it : without doubt some of the finest cooking you'll ever come across!
It’s a shame you ran out of horseradish! Otherwise would have given 5* for food
Seated about ten-fifteen minutes late (so had to move taxi back) and cheese board took quite a while to arrive which meant the end of the evening was a bit rushed.
