Around 1760, Stewart Hadskis opened an iron foundry in Commercial Court. He made pots and pans as well as other implements. The business was carried on by the Hadskis family until 1798. In keeping with the rich history of the building, a new restaurant will be opening in October 2013. We hope you will pay us a visit when we open to enjoy this new dining experience in the Cathedral Quarter, Belfast.
Great sirloin and cooked well. Enjoyable evening
Had a wonderful experience from we arrived until we left staff were excellent in all aspects will definitely be back 👍👌
Our party had a lovely meal and thoroughly enjoyed our experience. This was our first time in the restaurant and it came recommended to us and we likewise would highly recommend it to friends and family!
We went there for lunch on Sunday - we had a la carte dishes, starter & main and both were really tasty - the wine was very good as well, nice and friendly staff - would definitely recommend!
I visited Hadskis on 8 December - a very busy day in the run up to Christmas. We had booked a table for 3 but l was very late as l had to go to a funeral. Hadskis did their very best to help and served me something as soon as l arrived so that l could catch up with my friends. The food was lovely, staff were really accommodating and helpful and the atmosphere was great. Will be back.
Christmas lunch - food, wine and service excellent. Though the time slot at 12 meant there was few other diners in the restaurant. After two hours we were asked to leave immediately. But overall it was a good experience!
I ha a great meal at Hadski's. The best in Belfast. The man who was serving us (I think he was the manager/supervisor) was excellent. Very personable, courteous, and looked after us very well. Would recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Food was excellent but to have a turkey dinner with NO mash or roasted veg is not good and only one very small roast potato feels like a rip off to me. The one tiny roast potato was very good.
Live Hadskis- friendl,helpful staff
Loved it! Was entertaining friends from London- they loved the food x
We were positioned at a high table and not prewarned that the door would be opening and closing all evening with the result it was desperately cold and we had to keep our coats on. Service was pitiful and due to us treating guests to a meal, we did not take issue with the "discretionary" service charge which is automatically applied as that would be embarrassing for us in front of our guests. It took ages to receive our wine and water, no one asked would we like more drinks. We sat ages with dirty plates in front of us before they were cleared and waited at least 20 mins on the desserts menu, which was not a la carte but rather from the pre-set Xmas menu despite us not eating from the a la carte. Very disappointed to say the least as we were last in James St South and expecected a similar high standard.
Would recommend Hadskis, food was delicious, we will definitely be back for the Chateaubriand and parmesan chips 😊😋
We had an excellent meal. Really hard to fault.
A great night with great food
It was such a disappointing experience for us. I had organised a night out for my husband, myself and 4 friends and had booked approx 6 weeks beforehand which I thought would be well in advance. We were given a table upstairs which was completely lacking in atmosphere. We were then moved to a table downstairs at the back of the restaurant and when a member of staff looked into our booking we were told we wouldn’t be charged for the first round of drinks and starters. My husband sat with his left arm on the door most of the evening in an attempt to stop the draft that was keeping the door open. Perhaps we should have stayed upstairs. I would most definitely not go back. I am embarrassed at suggesting and then organising our night out there.
This is a beautiful restaurant where the service shines even before you are treated to the amazing food. It is a Number 1 restaurant in my book and I will be back.
Atmosphere not really expected to be electric at 5.30 pm, so no criticism intended.
Excellent food and service, located in an ideal spot in the heart of the cathedral quarter.
Great night - just perfect !
Food and drink is all great and even better knowing that it’s locally sourced. I first heard about the restaurant in one of the Sunday papers and it completely lived up expectations. This was my second visit in 12 months and it was just as fresh and delicious as the first!
The service was excellent, very friendly and efficient, and the food was very good. The only down side would have been the table which was situated in something of a corridor close to an outer door where a cold draught blew in at times.
Lovely food - had a great time. Would recommend.
We’ve been many times & really enjoyed it but were a little underwhelmed this time. Had the cod & cannelloni beans & roasted garlic but was very bland and could not taste any garlic. My wife enjoyed the chicken but just not as impressed as normal. Homemade honeycomb was lovely in fairness but the pavlova was literally swimming in sauce/syrup
