Around 1760, Stewart Hadskis opened an iron foundry in Commercial Court. He made pots and pans as well as other implements. The business was carried on by the Hadskis family until 1798. In keeping with the rich history of the building, a new restaurant will be opening in October 2013. We hope you will pay us a visit when we open to enjoy this new dining experience in the Cathedral Quarter, Belfast.
Had a 30th birthday party for my partner here and based on my first experience here, I would not come back or recommend. Our table wasn't ready so we had to sit outside for 10-15 mins looking at menus. When we did get seated, it was another really long wait before we ordered food. A table in front of us was seated after us but ordered and ate long before us. The wait on the food was approx 45-mins to an hour. One of our party had to inquire and we were offered an apology and free dessert. I had left in a cake which was meant to be a surprise so I either had to say 'I have a cake' and ruin the surprise or let my party go ahead and order dessert, which they were keen to do as they didn't know a cake was coming. Once we had our dessert I asked for the cake to be brought out, it was left on the table, with no napkins, no knife or plates. The plates were brought down after having to ask again for them and then we were asked 'oh do you need a knife'. It was that late we just had the cake boxed and left. When we got the bill, the free desserts were actually included in the price and we were told they had decided to take off the bottle of wine and drinks. We wouldn't have ordered the desserts in the first place if they hadn't been offered for free. Also, a couple of us weren't drinking and had tap water or one soft drink the entire meal, so no real saving on the bill for us. The lady who took the payment from us was very apologetic, and the food itself was lovely. But all in, this didn't make up for the fact that this was a special occasion and it was anything but special. We left feeling like we should do something to 'make up for it' which is not how someone should spend their 30th birthday, something which they can't get back. All in all, completely disappointing.
We had a delicious meal but the thing that stuck out most was how friendly and accomodating the staff were. Can't wait to come back
Food was great as always. Efficient service but a little over bearing at times. Food was tremendous as it consistently is.
Great customer service from friendly staff and great food!
Great food, friendly staff and quick service
While I thought that the food in Hadski’s was among the best I’d had in Belfast; I was disappointed by the atmosphere and surroundings of the restaurant. As a customer who is partially deaf I really struggled to hear my wife due to the fact that Hadski’s is overcrowded. Diners eat less than an arm’s length away from one another, making conversation difficult & the overall volume unsettling. In addition to this; a 10% service charge irrespective of party size is nothing short of scandalous. It should be at the discretion of the patron to decide how much of a tip to give, not enforced by the restaurant. Our waitresss was not nearly attentive enough to merit a 10% surcharge. Again, I was fully satisfied with the food/drink in Hadski’s but the issues mentioned would prevent me from coming back.
Great menu, plenty of choice, attentive and helpful staff, food excellent
First time here, recommended by a work colleague. Did no lt disappoint. Great food and great service; especially by Niall who was serving us!
Thank you so much for looking after us! Staff were great and we all had a great night. Really enjoyed the food.
A great night, despite being a large party of 10 the service was great and the food perfect.
My friends and I have been going to Hadskis for several seconds years. Ever time time we go we are greated and attended to by fantastic staff. As for the food, you just have to taste it as it never fails. Nial, you have fantastic friendly super professional staff, chefs are awesome. I booked Saturday whilst I was on holiday in Spain to make sure we had something to look forward to on our return. We all had a great meal and time.
It's the best restaurant in belfast, even in the UK as my opinion. I have already recommended Hadskis to my friends.
Excellent service and food! Place was buzzing!
We had a delicious meal on Friday night last. The food was beautifully presented and tasted fantastic. Our waiter was great, he had a super sense of humour and added to the evening. A lovely place to eat. My only negative comment was that our table was beside the toilets. Otherwise a very enjoyable evening.
I had tried to book online during the week for Saturday but it was showing that it was fully booked. I took a chance & rang on Saturday afternoon & was delighted that we were able to be squeezed in early. Food was amazing, service & surrounding were all fantastic. Would highly recommend.
The food and service are a good standard but I have an issue with price. The price of mains are expensive enough but then you have to add in the sides and also a service charge which makes it very expensive. I have always had an issue with restaurants adding in a service charge, i think it's a bit of a liberty and a ridiculous amount in some cases.
cant fault anything !
I brought some work colleagues for dinner - we had a fantastic time! Literally not a fault. They all agreed they would be back
Good evening. Staff helpful and friendly.
We had a wonderful visit at Hadskis restaurant. The food was very good and beautifully presented. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
Very friendly & welcoming staff. Bit disappointed with presentation of the courgette risotto starter. Hake main course was delicious & pretty summer vegetables were very tasty too. Noisy downstairs but a lively buzz around for Friday night. Would go back!
Best steak I've had. Food top quality throughout. Great service.
