About Hackney Church Brew Co. & Lagom
***If you're unable to book, please feel free to email or call us***
Hackney Church Brew Co is about more than just great beer and great food. It’s about providing an amazing space with a deep connection to the community, the church and the people.
We source as much of our ingredients for our drinks and our food as we can from within walking distance of the brewery and we don’t do or serve anything unless we can do it as best we can. The result, we think you’ll agree, is a space unlike anywhere else in London.
London is one of the most diverse cities in the world, and Hackney is one of the most diverse parts of London. We’ve created an environment that celebrates this, a place everyone can enjoy. We have great beer but we have great non-alcoholic drinks too; we’re a craft brewery, but our Sunday Roasts are most definitely a family affair; we’re partnered with Hackney Church, but we’re a broad church. Everyone, and anyone, is welcome here.
We brew our own beer, but we're far from a closed shop, we also support other local breweries, both large and small.
We want to help the Hackney community grow, not just our business, Sunday afternoons are just as important to us as Friday nights.
For us, without the community, there is no brewery.
Great Sunday lunch
We had a really lovely time and food was outstanding
Quite possibly the best eatery in Hackney. Food was next level good.
The croquettes were overpriced but everything else was excellent. I’ve been to the pub six times since the first lockdown and twice was Church Brew... and I don’t like leaving the house.
We had a lovely evening for my friends birthday, the staff were very efficient and friendly and funny! The food portions were good and the croquettes were a particular highlight. Will be coming back!
Funky location and nice atmoshphere (all things considered). But we were close to the door which was left open so it we might as well of been sittng outside! Beer was good and we had Sunday lunch and whilst the meat was excellent the 3 very small crispy potatoes and the cabbage was very underwhelming, all in thin liquid called gravy? Overall I would go for a drink but the food was great value of money and the veg were very sad
Awesome place as usual! We'll come back for sure!
Staff was very friendly and accommodating; the beer selection is perfect (not too much, not too little); the interior décor is a well executed shabby/sheek look with visual access to the brewing tanks; food was slightly overpriced bit still very tasty; and outdoor tables were made quite comfortable despite the cold weather.
Really good beers and food with excelent service and nice atmosphere. One of my favourite places in Hackney central. A bit expensive but it worth it.
Due to the position re virus they are trying very hard to make people enjoy there visit will rtn with friends when able to do so
Those croquettes.....oh boy oh boy . I woke up wanting them for breakfast and planning my next visit just to eat them again !
Had a bit of a wait to be served for food but once it came it was phenomenal!! Cauliflower and cheeseburger were to die for. Some of the best food in London for sure
Great selection of beer. Food was delicious. Had a buzzy amostphere.
Was disappointing. I’ve been here a few rimes and it was nice. Firstly I booked for 2 adults, one baby and they tried to put us on a table outside, which I was a bit annoyed about as I had said on the booking I had a baby, so surly they should know I wouldn’t want to sit outside in the cold (it was 13 degrees on Sunday)! We both got roast beef and it was ridiculously undercooked. I don’t mind medium rare beef but rhis was rare. It just wasn’t right for a roast. There was blood coming out of it. The waitress fixed the problem by asking the chefs to brown the beef off which was good, she was lovely and helpful but then we ordered the desert which was £10 and really poor. They had obviously made it earlier and the Carmel was stuck to the plate, we couldn’t actually get it off. It was meant to come with cream as well and didn’t. I wouldn’t go again for Sunday lunch. Really poor! Nice people and good enough atmosphere but it was cold even inside with beggars coming in off the street. Not ideal. The staff were lovely but the set up and food was poor!
Solid roast and nice beers, makes for a great sunday lunch!
I booked a small COVID-secure dinner for 6 for my 40th birthday. The beers are excellent and the food is so good. I am glad I live nearby, as I will come again. Thanks HCB!
Great beer and good vibes
The beetroot and cauliflower were out of this world 🚀
It was our first time at HCB and although everything was ok, I thought service was quite slow for a late lunch (4pm). We felt like chasing the staff with our eyes every time we wanted to order something, to the point that I thought it was worth to leave feedback in a website. Other than that, great food, good brews, nice environment and apparently COVID concerned and prepared.
Lovely atmosphere - great lager!
Superb food and service - thanks very much for making evenings worth going out for!! Beer choice is not as good as it used to be, for our personal taste, but definitely coming back for the overall experience - never lets us down
Great food and drinks, was very quite Friday lunch time!
Great service from a friendly and efficient team
