About Gypsy Caravan
There have been mystic happenings in the back streets of Ponsonby. Clairvoyants have predicted it, they have arrived from far corners of the world. They come from Greece, from Turkey, from Morocco. With their spices, their rubs, their pans and wood fires.
A street food revolution is in our midst!
In mid- July be present as ‘The Street Food Collective’ is taken over by rogue band of Gypsies!
Gypsy caravan will be opening as a pop up restaurant, inspired by Moroccan tents, the Turkish bazaar, forests full of roses and strung with bead curtains. We will take you on an adventure through the back streets of Europe and Mediterranean cuisine. Our menu is fresh and light, demonstrating our take on traditional street food dishes, while making the transition from street vendor to modern restaurant.
Fear not loyal Street Food Collective followers! Our alleyways are a place of mystery and evolution. An ever-changing space, we will continue collaborate with our favorite street vendors over the next few months. Stay tuned for a calendar of exciting events & pop ups to come.
The famous ‘Herbie the bar’ will transform into his gypsy counterpart! Here to enhance our food experience with a short range of interactive cocktails, craft beer on tap, and an eclectic wine list. The show continues!
Join our journey into a new era of street food, it may be dark, it may be delightful! We promise it will be a taste adventure as we tell our new story “From Street Food Vendor to Restaurateur”
The team at Gypsy Caravan were extremely accommodating during my sister's surprise baby shower. Not only did the team open up early to ensure we had plenty of time to set up and personalise our event, they went above and beyond to make sure every guest had a wonderful time. The atmosphere here is fabulous, the food is beautiful and the perfect option for larger groups - I highly reccomend for your next event, hen's party, baby shower or birthday. A memorable day had by all, made all the more enjoyable thanks to Gypsy Caravan's wonderful staff.
Cocktails and starters are nice. Mains were undercooked and over priced. Service was good.
The food was really really good, could do with more vegetarian options though
Cosy atmosphere and delicious food
