About Grill on the Alley

Description brought to you by Manchester Confidential:

Famous grill house specialising in steak and seafood.
This contemporary grill house from Manchester’s Living Ventures stable is modelled on the finest of it’s kind; namely those in New York and where we imagine people are leading glamorous, wealthy lives. The result is a sumptuous, low-lit grill house, where steak, wine, cocktails, vibes are united in sweet harmony. Take a seat in a leather-clad booth, sup on a house Martini and order a fillet or rib eye steak from a list of regional suppliers. Starters or light meals like Scottish mussels in coconut curry and spinach, or fresh rock oysters are an able prelude to fish dishes such as sesame-crusted tuna with sweet pickled vegetables or even re-conceived favourites, like chicken supreme. The food is just indulgent enough to feel decadent, but not over power the rest of the night. Finish with a light affogato and live piano accompaniment. Grill on the Alley just pips sister venue, The Grill on New York Street, for atmosphere.

Review by Manchester Confidential's Jonathan Schofield
The Grill on the Alley is a clever operation. From the welcome on arrival, through to service at the table there’s rarely a bum note with the food often hitting the highs. In terms of consistency it gets it right nine and a half times out of ten.
