Food and drinks are excellent; I believe I could have learn more info about menu of the day whereas during my dining experience, perhaps overheard, the subsequent tables were able to learnt more of the menu of the day in relative to mine. To be fair perhaps I was the first table who hopped in, but overall, service was reasonably decent.
Attentive staff and gorgeous food and drink. Not the first time we have been to GreyFriar’s and it will not be the last. Thank you to all.
Was rather disappointed with my fillet steak. Not cooked as asked but not one to complain. More upset that it was my partners birthday and I requested a birthday message on her desert..received a phone call explaining what can be done etc.. when desert come there was no birthday message or any mention why? Shame.
Best ever afternoon tea
Lovely afternoon spent with friends. Thought the portion sizes + fillings were small compared to the price. As a baker myself, I thought the scones were a little dry.
Excellent food, excellent service, Thank you
The chef was difficult to work with, but the staff was AMAZING!
Was all very nice
Tea was very weak. Need stronger or more teabags
Staff accommodated for a nut allergy and offered more sandwiches of our choice if we wanted them.
Great food and great service!
This is our 3rd time dining at Greyfriars. The waiters are always friendly and attentive. But Saturday I think some of the staff were a little off key. Our wine order was forgotten and we were served dessert without cutlery. The quality of the food is always amazing, however the Apple and BlackBerry pie was a little bland neither the Apple or blackberries had much flavour however the pastry was delicious. We will be back.
Having been before and really enjoying it we were looking forward to our visit yesterday. However when we were shown to our table we had to ask for two of the cups to be changed as they were tea-stained. Also it would be nice to be given a choice of menu as the ones on offer were the same as last time and were not to the taste of one of my party.
Absolutely wonderful afternoon tea at greyfriars! They catered for all our requirements and even took note that my Nan was in a wheelchair so left space at the table. The food was delicious and the service was excellent, thank you very much!
Lovely food and great service. Will be back.
The hotel staff were very helpful when I booked a table for my daughter's 21st birthday. We have various eating requirements but they catered for them all. I ordered a birthday cake which was very tasty. Service was excellent. Marked down on atmosphere...but it was a Tuesday evening so the restuarant was not full. I will be returning (for the 6th time!)
We only stayed one night but wish our stay had been longer. Beautiful hotel with helpful and polite staff, especially in the restaurant where we had a lovely meal. We will be back in the near future.
Staff are very attentive and food is delicious
We will be back. One of the best afternoon teas we have had and we have had many.
A lovely afternoon tea. Super service, food, surroundings, couldn't have been better. We all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
First impressions were great upon entry but the small room we weee placed in had me facing a white split panelled wall with my back toward a doer way and passage for everyone to walk by. Food was ok, no huge complaints but I didn’t personally feel that it warranted the price. Waiter was ok until he nervously spilt wine over my mobile on the table- slippery fingers. All in all I’d say it was fairly average but attempting to be more - hence I won’t revisit. Shame really as only few very nice places to eat locally and I’d hoped this could become a regular.
A superb Sunday Afternoon Tea to celebrate my wife's birthday. Wonderful food and great tea selection, made a little more special with a good selection of wines available at extra cost. Service simply couldn't be improved. High recommended.
Very nice establishment! Will definitely be returning!! There was a very rude man behind us in the restaurant, and there was no need for it, the greyfriars staff dealt with him very very well!
Had a lovely afternoon tea for my mother’s 80th birthday. Our special requests for fussy eaters was met and the warm scones for absolutely delicious. Our waiter riordan was very attentive and made the experience a pleasure.
