About The Great hall and Restaurant at Ellenborough Park
Book now to enjoy Afternoon Tea in either the Great Hall or the Restaurant at Ellenborough Park
Had afternoon tea for 3. two of us had gift vouchers and one was an extra. I was very disappointed that the cost of the three teas at current price was added up and then the value of the vouchers was deducted we ended up paying for a very expensive third tea. not good!!
This was a 50th birthday present it was a lovely place the food was amazing and very enjoyable we will definitely be returning
It was my second visit to ellenborough Park. Every thing was superb. The staff were welcoming and all very professional. I brought my friend for a birthday treat it was all I wanted it to be for her.
The service was amazing, very helpful and kind. We were celebrating my Mum's 72nd birthday and my niece's 19th with afternoon tea and the setting was lovely and there was plenty of food, which was all delicious. Thank you Ellenborough Park, we'll be back soon.
Fantastic afternoon with great service from our waiter. Staff are very friendly and accommodating, also very knowledgeable of the history of the hotel.
Wonderful ambiance and atmosphere Bread used for the sandwiches was substandard Menu was very limited Chicken sandwiches are available everywhere in London in a five or four star venues as a standard choice so we expected to get them but our request was totally ignored Service was substandard We had to repeatedly ask for refills and not heard necessarily For this type of venue our expectations were high but unfortunately were not met We had to go and look for someone to pay the bill Not the best experience
Truly enjoyable,will be back soon.
Wonderful service throughout & the Staff could not have been more attentive.
We had a lovely experience to celebrate our wedding anniversary. However when I booked I made it very clear it would be 2 x adults & 2 x children attending and we would be ordering 2 x afternoon teas and 1 x children’s afternoon tea (that had been discussed and price advised of £14) our children are 2 & 5and we knew they wouldn’t appreciate a full afternoon tea but wanted them to Join in the experience. I gave exact numbers as I know you have to be careful with numbers in areas. This ended up costing us more with the service charge and this was the only downside to our experience.
Very good service and lovely room to enjoy our afternoon tea. We are hoping to re-book and bring along my parents in law.
Wonderful afternoon tea. Excellent attentive service with a decorum level that did not make us feel out of place and great application of social distancing responsibilities.
I have already reviewed and put a few pictures on your web page regarding our visit and afternoon tea in which I had high praise for everything about our visit.
The place is great and the service very friendly. Food was good and its the perfect plan for a traditional afternoon tea. Maybe a bit too empty due to covid this time. Some music needed. Too calm. We also had a sofa instead of a high table which wasnt very comfy.
The staff were brilliant - especially coming over preemptively with glasses of champagne to apologise for another table being very noisy. They were efficient when needed but also left us to chat and we didn’t feel rushed at all. Delicious food, Impeccable service and I would definitely come back.
If Harrods has a hotel and Spa...near Cheltenham...
Ok afternoon tea but not the best we’ve had. Overall a bit disappointing. The scones were especially below standard.
Very enjoyable afternoon tea with attentive but not fussy staff who were also very friendly. All the food was very good (scones slightly odd, especially the plain ones, but still nice) and there was a fair range of tea options, although we have had a wider one at other venues. The tea strainers didn’t really catch much of my loose rooibos tiramisu tea however, making it slightly difficult to drink (although it was delicious!). But very enjoyable overall.
My husband and I were looking forward to coming out for afternoon tea. The setting is beautiful as is the hotel. My husband is lactose intolerant so I made sure to expalin this in our booking. We arrived, were shown to our table and I asked to ensure they were prepared for Keith's allergy. We were assured it was all in hand. The food arrived and were told which sandwiches were Keith's - lactose free. We then asked about the cakes. They were all cream or milk based which meant Keith could not eat them. The waiter assured us he could eat them as they - this was not the cas. He went away twice to ask the chef and eventually alternatives were supplied consisting of two small vegan slices of cake - 2 less than the afternoon tea selection. Not much of an apology or no reduction was offered not even a glass of something. We would absolutely of loved to return here for afternoon tea but the mistakes in the ordering and the subsequent bad handling of it have frankly put us off.
Delicious afternoon tea here in a lovely setting. Although it seemed we arrived at a time when lots of people were checking in, so lots going on outside the door. We also struggled to get the attention of the staff at times to ask for drinks and to pay the bill but it didn't take away from our overall experience which was very enjoyable. Would come again probably for a proper dinner.
Great service and food, highly recommended
The best afternoon tea I have eaten, the scones were so light and the other cakes delicious. The setting beautiful!
The young lady that served us was great. Efficient and polite If you like old buildings with history, as we do, the ambience is lovely. Not being able to eat cream cheese I was given a sandwich with just cucumber(strange!). It would be nice to be given a choice of sandwiches and cakes. This is not offered. On the whole it was an enjoyable afternoon and I would be quite happy to visit again.
We were particularly struck by the 5 *service at Ellenborough Park. The afternoon tea was perfect and we enjoyed the quiet atmosphere in the Great Hall.
Thoroughly enjoyable afternoon tea
Great service- especially the serving staff.
