Book now to enjoy Afternoon Tea in the Great Hall at Ellenborough Park
Very nice afternoon tea, in a beautiful setting.
Very good all round.
Superb choice of teas, freshly made sandwiches, great scones, lovely cakes, staff efficient and welcoming, overall experience 5*
A must-try for anyone who happens to be in the Cotswolds on holiday!
A wonderful afternoon spent in this fabulous location. The duty manager (Russell) was incredibly welcoming. His attention to detail was first class. Highly recommended. The afternoon tea was truly memorable.
Although we were in the Great Hall, we were seated in a deep alcove where you couldn't see or hear anyone else! Very disappointing. When we asked for another seat the young waiter didn't know how to handle the situation, so we just accepted it. This was a special treat for my wife, so I didn't feel that I could complain.
I would just like to thank the staff for making us really welcome, and looking after us during our afternoon tea.
I booked a spa day with afternoon tea as a birthday treat for my daughter and brought my other daughter with us too. We thoroughly enjoyed our massages and the pressure given to each of us was perfect. The best we've had for a long time. The afternoon tea was delicious and plentiful and I have already recommended you to several friends. We'll definitely be back for more. The only negative comment would be that I feel the spa area needs refurbishing as it appeared to be a little outdated.
Afternoon tea was lovely. I took my sister as a birthday treat and she was very impressed!
Excellent Tea though the only problem was that my elderly Mum found the access ramp very difficult to negotiate. Offer of a doggy bag would have been welcome as we couldn't finish the loverly tea.
Lovely hotel, with lovely surroundings. First class service and first class food. Definitely recommend to family and friends.
I have been to E.P. on three occasions and had a really special time . However on this occasion I brought a friend for her birthday and another friend and was less than impressed by the overall presentation of the tea. The waiter was very attentive and brought the tea testing box but when the food arrived they were just arranged on three white dinner plates - no attempt to make it special in any way with a centre piece. It looked second rate and the sandwiches were miniscule and not uniform. I was disappointed as I had suggested EP and have always previously found it to be excellent.
Myself and a friend had a very pleasant Afternoon Tea at this lovely hotel. From the moment we entered Reception the staff were very attentive and welcoming. The food and service were 1st class. The table linen was crisp and white and the cutlery, teapots, etc were of good quality. This all makes for the difference between an average experience and an excellent one which this was!
Fabulous service in a wonderful setting, the staff could not have been more attentive
reception desk brilliant at helping with queries
Slightly strange service - difficult to get hot water to top up the tea pots and we were never offered a new pot of tea. Staff were largely absent from the dining room. Very good afternoon tea.
We enjoyed a lovely afternoon tea here and the staff were wonderful and attentive. Unfortunately we also had some issues fitting my mums (standard size) wheelchair through one of the doors leading to the main restaurants which meant she had to get out and walk through whilst the wheelchair was folded. This was very difficult for her and caused a bit of a problem. That said, the staff were very helpful during this time and did everything they could to help us through the doorway. I would return again but unfortunately I wouldn't be able to bring my mum.
Our visit was very enjoyable, The Service was spot on food was well presented and tasteful , We thought the drinks ' wine ' was enjoyable but expensive , We had wanted to Order a bottle Champaign but on your on line price list was to high, This treat was for our 50th Wedding Anniversary, All in the Hotel and Grounds are Beautiful, Reguards Geraldine Sandford,
Lovely afternoon tea in beautiful setting. Very impressed that our request for wraps was met without fuss, and tasted great too, gorgeous cakes as well. Can't wait to go back.
Made a reservation for my Grandmothers 85th Birthday. There was a bit of confusion with our table - I had called specially to say she had issues with steps and seats, yet we were sat at a table that was up one set of stairs and down another set of stairs – there were plenty of tables with easier access. We were given a sofa not a sturdy chair as requested in a room that had large scaffolding at one end. Asked to be moved and it was resolved, it’s just frustrating to know you have already requested something and you have been told they can accommodate you. We also had dirty tea cups and they had run out some teas – loos were not very tidy. It was ok – the waiter was lovely but rushed off his feet, we left a little disappointed.
Wonderful afternoon tea and service was excellent
We have been to Ellenborough Park for afternoon tea over the last few years and always enjoyed the great hall and great food. Unfortunately on this occasion the great hall was closed and were sat in the dining room with some very strange music playing. This could not be helped however the food was brought out was far below the usual standard. There used to be a choice of 4 different types of scone including raspberry and chocolate. The only scones on offer were plain and sultana which was very disappointing and does not meet the standards set by other country retreats in the cotswolds for the same or less cost. The final course of cakes were all brought in and not made on site. Overall this venue is fantastic and deserves much better food than what was served up. I would need some persuading to return given the quality of other hotels also serving afternoon tea. Overall I would summarise this experience as overpriced and bland.
Lovely atmosphere for an afternoon tea.
Afternoon tea for a babyshower, they catered very well for the mixed dietary requirements and nothing was too much trouble. It was a lovely and relaxed atmosphere with no feeling of being rushed.
The tea was cold very quickly. The strainers still allowed a lot of tea leaves through (orange tea). Service was slow - we tried to ask for more cream for the scones and it was a while before we found anyone to ask! Sandwiches were fresh, and cakes were lovely. Good choice of dairy free items too.
