Book now to enjoy Afternoon Tea in either the Great Hall or the Restaurant at Ellenborough Park
Couldn't have been more wonderful. Excellent staff and service, lovely environment, top rate food offerings.
Afternoon tea- the bread was dry which was unforgivable considering the price of a plate of sandwiches. The fillings were unremarkable and mean. Shame as cakes were good and tea was nice. We had drinks in the bar later, my Bloody Mary took 15 minutes to come, tasted oddly of mustard, was mainly ice and when I took the stick of celery out to eat it, the end was rotten. We had to ask to have this removed from the bill. Feeling sick just remembering this. The wine is fantastically overpriced, a recognisably really cheap Sauvignon nearly 30 quid. V bad. Some serious cleaning issues in the hotel, filthy bathroom, rotten apple under a dresser. Such a shame, could be a fantastic place to stay.
Very nice afternoon tea. Luckily the surroundings are nice as there was a delay of 40 mins in serving the food.
Lovely retreat for spa and food. We had a few drinks in the bar, watched the cricket then headed for an Afternoon Tea, the service was perfect all round - highly recommended!
Very friendly staff, professional and excellent service.
I was so disappointed. Had I not been taking a friend who would have been embarrassed had I complained at the time I would have done. The sandwiches had clearly been made for some time and left out. They were dry and crusty on the outside. No refill of our teapot was offered and then I was charged 12.5 percent service charge on my huge bill. Yes the surroundings were lovely, but I won’t be caught like this again. Disappointed verging on angry
Our first time at Ellenborough Park and will definitely visit again
Beautiful surroundings and lovely atmosphere. Unfortunately the afternoon tea didn't meet our expectations. The sandwiches and cakes were mediocre and though the scones were delicious, the portion of clotted cream and jam was ridiculously tiny between the two of us, leaving the scones dry. There was one lady serving us and only one other couple taking afternoon tea. She was pleasant but preoccupied. She would disappear and not reappear for 10 minutes or so. I needed a fresh pot of tea to drink with my scones and I had to wait at least 10 minutes for her to reappear and even then I had to attract her attention to ask for some more. I would have asked for some more jam and cream with our scones but I'd finished them by then because we'd been waiting so long. Sadly the waiting and lack of attention took away some of the pleasure of taking our afternoon tea in such beautiful surroundings.
Fabulous setting and a lovely afternoon tea, would definitely recommend
Went to the bar first and ordered two prosecco and only got half a glass which cost £18 which I thought was a bit expensive, if the glasses were filled then it would of not been so bad.
The service was excellent - everything we asked for we got e.g. more ham sandwiches for me the fusspot and another guest who wanted brown bread - thank you.
Thank you to the staff it was amazing we will be back!
Lovely service from Jonathan, accommodated anything we asked for
Everything about this afternoon tea was perfection. The welcome, service and atmosphere was relaxing whilst feeling special. The food was delicious, some of the best scones I’ve ever eaten! We weren’t rushed or fussed over, just enjoyed a wonderful afternoon. Thank you!
As a non drinker it would have been nice to have a wider variety of non alcoholic beverages available. And maybe a selection of mocktails. Other than that I can’t fault the hotel it was exceptional and the staff are a credit to you.
Lovely relaxed atmosphere. The waiter was friendly but not too intrusive. Food was delicious and a nice selection. I would definitely recommend the souchong orange tea.
Lovely afternoon and very attentive staff
Johnathan who served us was Lovley and made are visit a really good experience
The venue was lovely and we were greeted at the door by three members of staff and escorted to the reception area, two members of staff. However for afternoon tea there was only one, hardworking, member of staff. So service was much slower than we would have liked. Otherwise an enjoyable afternoon tea.
The man that served us was so friendly and attentive. Great service
Reservation for 14:30, despite checking in at reception, we were left hanging around in the Hall for 15-20 minutes before anyone came to attend to us. Bread in the sandwiches was dry/hard -they had obviously been made in advance and left sitting. Disappointing for the price. Scones and Paris-Brest were excellent
Our waiter was very helpful and nothing was any trouble. My favourite afternoon tea ever!
Both members of staff that served us afternoon tea were polite, friendly and very helpful. We felt very welcomed and enjoyed our day immensely.
Lovely atmosphere. It felt a very special occasion to be taking afternoon tea in such beautiful surroundings. Champagne delicious good choice of teas. Food lovely, would have liked more sandwiches. Scones and cakes very nice. The waiter was brilliant he even offered to take a photograph of my daughter and myself.
The setting was beautiful. Very friendly greeting from a male member of staff who showed us to our dining area and explained the different varieties of tea. However, that's as far as it went. All down hill from there. We were ignored from then onwards. When we asked if we could have two filter coffee, two lattes were brought to us instead. The staff didn't even know we had upgraded to include an alcoholic drink and I felt embarrassed asking for it. We were not asked whether we wanted champagne, gin & tonic or a cocktail, but was given half a glass of cheap Prosecco each. This was only after a female member of staff told me that she would have to check and see if we hadn't already had the drinks! My partner had got up to use the loo, so only two drinks were offered to us instead of three. ( three of us were having afternoon tea ). Overall, a very disappointing experience. We will not be back.
