About Great Fosters
Events at Great Fosters
Was really looking forward to our roast at Great Fosters but after waiting half an hour for our booked table and not getting served for half an hour, we felt really unloved. Such a shame as I have just booked a wedding at Great Fosters. The main waitress was super stressed but apparently it was due to the new management. We want to go to back, but worried our booked table won’t mean anything again.
The man that showed us around after we visited the open day was so lovely, he showed us around and into some bedrooms. He should be on the door all the time!
All staff were extremely attentive. Very professsional. I look forward to organising my wedding with you
The rooms just felt disjointed, the chocolate cake was dry. It was very busy. The show around was basically this this room that’s that room and questions ask the girls and walked off. The toast master felt very pushy sales. The grounds were stunning the orangey beautiful but lacked a special feeling that I’m looking for on my wedding day
It was amazing thank you I got some really good ideas xx
Fabulous evening with very attentive staff. Will book again
Enjoyed a lovely summer evening at this great venue. Friendly helpful staff and good cocktails.
I booked the cocktails in the garden. The event was nice, but not to the same standard as last year. In particular the bar service at the end was not great. When we asked for the wine list we were told there was white, rose or red, no choice. We tried the white and it was not up to standard. I would have expected more from a hotel of this standard.
A really nice way to spend an early summer evening. The cocktails were very good and the Great Fosters Estate is perfect to walk around.
I attended the Al Fresco evening, thoroughly enjoyable, well organised.
The singers, while good, were not really Jazz singers. Not enough seating.
A very enjoyable time at the Gin and Jazz evening. Well organised, great service as always. Good music and great gins and pizza! Will definitely go again next year.
It was a lovely evening but there were not enough places to sit, nor were any preparations made for the weather. It would have been so easy to have umbrellas at each outdoor table. If you invite 100 people, then you should have 100 chairs! Full stop. Didn't get to enjoy the jazz as there were no seats! I would have moved the jazz into the room where the bar was and added plenty of seats for people to enjoy. The gin tasting was great. Hope you get it right next time. I need a job. Perhpas you'd like to hire me as your event coordinator. :-)
Lovely idea of a barbecue but my husband & I had the aubergine but it was impossible to eat so we ended up having a meal in the restaurant. The Jazz duo were really great. Thoroughly enjoyed the event & spoke to so many interesting people plus of course the variety of gins were really interesting. Would definitely go again.
BBQ was not very well organised a bit chaotic had to send it back as it was cold
Gin & Jazz sign out sign in the main courtyard but no signs when you entered the inner courtyard. Heaters weren’t lit on the terrace where the food was served. One terrace heater broken sat outside cold & wet. Charged £10 for a cheese burger which came with no cheese took it back female chef was rude! £30 a ticket was not good value. Had to ask a staff member for a chair inside as it was raining. Our designated driver asked for a juice & was told you didn’t have any! Had to ask a manager who kindly got us one. Some staff were lovely others not bothered. You were not prepared for the British weather & had no contingency plans in place. Can’t recommend & won’t be attending next year. Very disappointing have stayed for New Year’s Eve before & it was lovely.
G&J evening, pizzas were poor. Bar staff and drinks great. You could have easily kept the music going after 9 pm with paying bar to say 11pm easily. Good vibe.
