About Grassington House
Dine with us in our elegant restaurant 5 The Square, the relaxed ambience of the fireside Bar or al fresco on the Terrace.
We offer traditional favourites with a contemporary twist and seasonal dishes served with imagination, including our own hand-reared rare breed pork.
Take your pick from light bites such as our tempting taster slate of tapas style dishes, to a full five-course meal from our a la carte menu
Having visited Grassington House regularly for the past ten years we can say that we have never been disappointed with the service, staff friendliness, atmosphere, quality of the food and the coninual updating of the menu. Keep up the good work
Knowledgeable and engaging sommelier and senior waitress. Wine recommended was good and appropriate. Charming young waitress. The main course (filet mignon) was very well balanced and the steak was absolutely spot on medium rare. PS I would like to hear a greeting that was something simple like "Good evening". "You awlright?" does not really suit the style of the place. Unfortunately it seems ubiquitous in Yorkshire.
Very enjoyable first visit to Grassington House. The food was amazing (one vegetarian and one meat eater very well catered for) great service and lovely setting. We intend to return.
Really lovely Sunday lunch. Fantastic food, great service and for this quality great value
Thank you for providing safe GF products which helped to reduce stress and produced 'normality'. You have no idea how important this is to Coeliacs!
Excellent food and accommodation. Would definitely recommend a stay.
I dinned at grassington house on a Sunday evening and opted for the 5 course tasting menu. I have to say I was surprised at the value for money when choosing the 5 courses on the 2 for 1 option, a menu that is offered every Sunday. Each and every course were beautifully presented and the taste lived up to the look! The main course was a good size and the Skate fish was definitely the highlight for me. I would definitely recommend Grassington house to friends and family, and thank them for a wonderful evening.
Delicious food beautifully presented. Staff very polite and helpful.
We have dined at Grassington House several times and indeed we still have two bookings reserved. We did feel that the friendly service we have received in the past is now a little lacking not in the efficiency part but in the interaction side. Last time we came the staff were more eager to discuss and recommend drinks and dishes and not just take orders and serve. We also felt that although the quality and standard of the dishes were the same, the portions are a little smaller than they used to be and so we left with an impression that the value for money was diminished somewhat.
Gorgeous food, lovely intimate dining experience. Well looked after even though very busy.
Very pleasant surroundings and staff.
The food was delicious and nicely presented but we felt that it was expensive. The portions were very small e.g.the dauphinois and the 'crispy potato circle'.
Very good food and wine, a little too 'forced formal' for our liking, we felt slightly out of place laughing at one point!
All food delicious Only slight reservation was gritty wild mushrooms
A lovely meal, everything was spot on from the delicious bread to the amazing liquorice ice cream. Quality of ingredients, techniques and care with presentation made for a great meal. The chicken breast was delicious..and the wild garlic dauphinois 👍🏻. Will def return and recommend.
Absolutely love love love Grassington House - the food is "top-notch" - we like to eat at some of the best restaurants in Leeds, ie Crafthouse for one, but Grassington is easily on a par (if not better) - we will be back - Annette & Andy Hudson
We return to Grassington House regularly. We enjoy the high level of service, fine dining experience and pleasant ambience. We are never disappointed and would fully recommend this restaurant which ticks all the boxes.
A tastefully furnished hotel in a perfect setting for exploring the dales.
Delicious food: olives with home-made bread; chicken breast with wild garlic dauphinoise, wild mushrooms and asparagus. Strawberry Arctic roll. Accompanied by a litre of iced water and 250 ml of chenin blanc. The meal was presented beautifully and served by friendly staff. The other diners were rather reserved so there wasn't an especially convivial atmosphere and the piped pop music was somewhat intrusive.
Brilliant experience :)
Very nice restaurant and attentive staff. This was probably the best meal we have ever had in a restaurant
we booked for another 2 evenings this week. This says it all, I think.
A really lovely escape for a few days. Very helpful staff, comfortable room and an evening meal that was exceptional. Looked stunning and one of the best tasting meals I have had. Have mentioned them already but the wonderful staff, without being over fussy, did set the standards across all aspects of our stay.
Chef John just keeps getting better and better, he's an amazing talent!
Please when I ask for a pint of coke and yes ur staff fill the glass half full of ice. Then charge for s pint I’m sure trading standards would have an issue with this
good afternoon we ask would you like ice and the choice is yours if we added too much ice in this very very hot weather I apologize. Thank you Susan
