About Seahorse Restaurant at Grand Central Belfast
Hastings Grand Central is more than a hotel. It’s an ode to a city. Standing tall in Bedford Street, this impressive jewel fuses glamour and grandeur with a uniquely Belfast spirit. Perfectly placed in Belfast City. Just as Belfast is at the heart of the Grand Central, the Grand Central is at the heart of Belfast. Set in the up and coming Linen Quarter, the hotel is a spectacular hub for exploring Titanic Quarter’s history or Cathedral Quarter’s charming cobbled streets, pubs and eateries. Theatre buffs, shopaholics and historians alike will all be spoiled for choice, with a host of options right on their doorstep. Conveniently located for all transport access, the Grand Central is perfectly placed for every city centre endeavour – from business to leisure and everything in between.
This is one exquisite venue with three distinct spaces. Quality exudes from every angle – from the phenomenal cuisine and cocktails to the lavish fabrics and fittings. The art deco nods, high ceilings and sense of space add a distinctive drama – and the vibe inside shifts as the day rolls in and the sun rolls round. The restaurant and bar feel bright at breakfast and mesmerisingly dreamy of an evening. And this is the Seahorse’s real allure, it’s a destination with multiple moods – the perfect backdrop for sumptuous afternoon tea or delicious dining and fine wines.
Fabulous afternoon tea with friends. Staff couldn't have been more attentive & professional. We will be back.
Large party booking. Excellent customer service. Food good. Would be nice to be able to select the options on the set menu. Members of our party were disappointed not to be able to have a meat dish.
Could not fault our afternoon tea in the Seahorse Restaurant on Saturday. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and very friendly. Loved it and will be back.
The service from the waitress was second to none
Everyone must try this restaurant at least once..the food is exceptional.the staff uber efficient and friendly.the cocktails unreal.best old fashioned I have had EVER..the elderflower lady was described by my wife as unbelievable. Way to good for words... Will back very soon..let's hope we can get a table..!!
Wonderful food ... Chloe was fantastic, making sure we had a fantastic night
Staff were very helpful, lovely décor, tasty food.
Had a lovely 80th Birthday dinner for fourteen people. Staff and food couldn't have been nicer. Set three course menu was very reasonable as well. Would definitely recommend to anyone having a similar function.
We had afternoon tea at the Seahorse restaurant and then went to the top floor for a drink afterwards. In both venues the food/drink was exceptional. The service in the Seahorse restaurant was great to begin with, Terry was very knowledgeable and talked us through the afternoon tea. From then on the service was very poor - we had to continually seek out a waiter/waitress every time we wanted a drink (we often went 10-15 minutes with empty glasses). We were not offered tea at any point and we had to ask a number of times for a glass of water to be brought. No milk was brought with the tea. Once we did manage to get the attention of a member of staff they were always very obliging and pleasant. We would suggest that staff continually walk around the restaurant floor to ensure things like empty glasses are spotted and guests can easily attract their attention. All in all a very pleasant experience but service could be greatly improved when considering the price of food and drink.
Nice decor and amazing food. I like discovering new taste and this experience didn't disappoint with the amuse bouche (olive and sun dried tomatoes with an emulsion of cauliflower); the scallops were cooked to perfection, the velouté was exquisite. I had monkfish for main course and was impressed by the cooking: lightly crispy on top yet firm and melting in the inside. The sorbet with my desert was also a pure explosion of flavour. Well done!
This was my treat for my 60th birthday and it truly was a delight. The ginger cake was the nicest I've ever had and the rhubarb pannacotta was delicious. I also loved the little BlackBerry tarts and the Star Anise glazed muffin was a real tasty surprise. I have a sweet tooth so that's why I focused on those but the sandwiches were very tasty too. I can't comment on the scenes because we were defeated before we tackled those, but the jam looked very fruity. The tea itself was also very good; the only thing better than a good cup of tea is another one - and I had plenty! My husband said the coffee eclairs were gorgeous, I'm not a fan of coffee so ate 2 of them. The staff were very efficient and helpful too. It was a lovely birthday treat.
Although this is a pricey place, the food is amazing! The staff were attentive and made our anniversary special. I feel the tables are abit too close together.. I didnt want to be listening to people on neighbouring tables. A couple of things we had to ask for again as the serving staff forgot to bring them too.
Lady who served us was lovely
Fantastic food and service. Unique dishes and attentive staff made this a wonderful dinning experience
Excellent service across the spectrum of the hotel, room beautiful with great views of the city. My husband and I really enjoyed our stay on the occasion of my birthday, felt really special and the staff very attentive, especially Chloe in the Seahorse restaurant and James Allen ) in the lounge/bar. We will definitely make a return stay etc.
Too being greeted at the door by the concierge until we left again I could not fault the grand central hotel one single bit. The service provided by each member of staff was perfect. The afternoon tea was yummy!!! This was a mothers day treat and was enjoyed very much. We had afternoon tea in the seahorse restaurant and what a beautiful restaurant it is!! I will definitely be back and would also highly recommend it to anyone.
Our experience of our afternoon tea was excellent. The day was made with the service of the staff their friendless, expertise, attentiveness was second to none. We wanted for nothing and was very well looked after. Food was excellent and atmosphere Of the hotel was relaxed and thoughly enjoyable. Cannot recommend highly enough and cant wait to go back.
Delicious food expertly served. My first visit and certainly would come again. Altogether, from the moment I entered the front entrance, an excellent and very enjoyable experience.
Limited choice on menu could do with a few more options.
Lovely atmosphere, food and service.
Staff very courteous and helpful. Afternoon tea tastefully presented and beautiful array of savoury and sweet food. Very relaxing afternoon and look forward to a trying the restaurant soon !
What made the afternoon tea experience even better was your lovely friendly staff
Excellent menu. Consistently professional attentive and knowledgeable staff on each visit. Show insight into allergy management rarely seen in hotel chains or venues employing large numbers of staff. Would not hesitate to recommend to anyone - a stand-out place in Belfast for us and will return on each future visit to the city.
Chole provided excellent service and advice on the menu and wine. Another visit and we enjoyed the different menu. We very much appreciate the opporrunity to have a predinner drink in the lounge. Tom McGrath
