About Grand Central Hotel - Seahorse Restaurant
Hastings Grand Central is more than a hotel. It’s an ode to a city. Standing tall in Bedford Street, this impressive jewel fuses glamour and grandeur with a uniquely Belfast spirit. Perfectly placed in Belfast City. Just as Belfast is at the heart of the Grand Central, the Grand Central is at the heart of Belfast. Set in the up and coming Linen Quarter, the hotel is a spectacular hub for exploring Titanic Quarter’s history or Cathedral Quarter’s charming cobbled streets, pubs and eateries. Theatre buffs, shopaholics and historians alike will all be spoiled for choice, with a host of options right on their doorstep. Conveniently located for all transport access, the Grand Central is perfectly placed for every city centre endeavour – from business to leisure and everything in between.
This is one exquisite venue with three distinct spaces. Quality exudes from every angle – from the phenomenal cuisine and cocktails to the lavish fabrics and fittings. The art deco nods, high ceilings and sense of space add a distinctive drama – and the vibe inside shifts as the day rolls in and the sun rolls round. The restaurant and bar feel bright at breakfast and mesmerisingly dreamy of an evening. And this is the Seahorse’s real allure, it’s a destination with multiple moods – the perfect backdrop for sumptuous afternoon tea or delicious dining and fine wines.
Few people having afternoon tea so not much atmosphere. We were in the observatory- view wonderful. Girl serving us eas very nice but we had to ask for milk twice and also had to ask for butter and jam- was actually brought lemon curd and jam so had to again ask for butter.
An all round5 star experience.
Two hours between starters and main course. Pretence of restaurant fully booked out while reserving a table! Waiters not trained properly eg bringing coffee before deserts. The only positive was when a member of staff (from Zimbabwe) owning up to the problems and apologising genuinely and offering complimentary deserts. Disappointed as a new hotel should not allow the standards to drop on such obvious etiquette.
