About Gourmet Natural Restaurant
Set in the former Ermitage restaurant, Gourmet Natural near Vale de Lobo and Quinta do Lago has charm, charisma and elegance in abundance. Add quality cuisine and wonderful South American hospitality and you begin to get an idea of what Gourmet Natural is about.
The main focus of the Gourmet Natural menu is top quality natural Uruguayan beef, grilled, not over charcoal, but fresh firewood. All the meat has 100% trace ability and comes from free range Angus and Hereford grass-fed cattle. The resulting beef has low fat levels, high levels of omega 3 and vitamin E. The special grill, the Parilla, was made to the Uruguayan chefs' specifications and stands to one side of the courtyard. Just watching the chefs expertly juggle the meat and flames is an entertainment. We are very proud of the food we serve - it is unpretentious and straightforward but of superior quality. Naturally gourmet.

Fabulous meal in a stunning and unique setting.
I would prefer a more sophisticated choice of potatoes to accompany what was a most delicious and superbly cooked steak. The crisps were a bad choice on my part. I would prefer for example dauphinois potatoes or similar.

My husband and I visited your restaurant to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary, as we had dined there in July 17, and really enjoyed our experience there. This time was completely different, my rib eye steak was of poor quality, the fat had not been rendered down and it was full of grizzle. We were never asked how are meal was, the wine bottle was out of reach and because there were insufficient staff my husband had to get up from the table and refill our glasses. A member of staff was disciplined within our hearing. On paying for our meal the male member of staff who was carrying our the card transaction did not inform me that the procedures for submitting payment is slightly different to the UK, therefore my card was declined and I was made to feel that there was something wrong with my card. This member of staff was not the same waiter who had been allocated our table. As far as I can recall our designated waiter is called Flavio, who was very courteous and welcoming, but due to the fact that the restaurant was busy and there was a severe shortage of staff our whole experience this time fell far short of our expectations. The meal was also overpriced and not good value for money.

Once again we were not disappointed. Service and food was excellent, the steaks were cooked to perfection. The creme brûlée revisited with the cinnamon ice ream was a stroke of genius. Great food, great staff great atmosphere never disappoints, Looking forward to our next visit. Thanks to all the staff.

Just love this restaurant. We travelled nearly an hour to dine there again on a Friday. The atmosphere and setting is just perfect. The manager and staff were as delightful, efficient friendly as always.... and the food and wine divine !
The service was uninspiring .The menu has changed and generally not to the good. It is now more expensive than your competitors.The plates were stone cold and two of our parties steaks were very poor. The vegetables were average at best and nowhere near as memorable as we remember last year . Sorry but we will not be rushing back
Having been coming to the Algarve for over 30 years we are not sure why we have never been to Gormet Natural before. We have a most enjoyable evening with excellent food, very good service and a relaxing environment. We will certainly be returning on our many future visits to the Algarve.

Had an excellent meal. The staff were great and it is a lovely setting.
I have been to your restaurant many times and I usually ensure that we eat there on every visit to Portugal where we stay on a yearly basis. On this occasion, myself and my party felt the food was poor. In particular, your steaks were not good. In the past, they have been nicely brown on the inside and red in the center. The meat looked grey and appeared and tasted inferior. Of the three meals we had out during our stay, yours was the poorest.
Face a outros anos, e frequento o restaurante desde a sua abertura, a qualidade da comida e do serviço diminuiu. O atual menu de entradas, podendo agradar a muitos clientes, nada tem a ver com a tradição da comida uruguaia e s sua qualidade é menor.
