About Gourmet Food Parlour Skerries
Located in the bustling seaside town of Skerries. Gourmet Food Parlour is situated in a beautiful Georgian building on the leafy Church St.
Woodland breakfast better than Santry on this visit, great athmosphere. Will be back
FIX THE LIGHTS
Really enjoyed the meal and the service and staff were very friendly and welcoming. There is actually more than one "option" for veggies which makes a welcome change! One small criticism - the mushroom pasta dish was a bit heavy/rich - would be nice to have one with a lighter sauce. It was my first dinner visit and I will return,
Food was fab and love the decor. Will certainly be back .
Newly opened so staff still getting to know each other and systems I would imagine. no major issues but for instance no drinks menu provided until asked for, 3 different servers and a couple of orders came to our table which were not for us, think this happened 3 times, lights were flickering badly and had to ask for this to be rectified as would induce an epileptic fit if left untouched. Food was ok, drinks expensive.
Food was amazing great value for money staff helpful and friendly would highly recommend
Lovely venue with great food and service. Delighted to have GFP in Skerries
Long wait in the hallway door for our table. No phone number to ring a human. Cold over cooked steak. No ice cream. General chaos. We were seated on high stools which I didn’t particularly like. Staff were pleasant and friendly though which made a bad night tolerably.
Lovely staff, very friendly. However the restaurant’s systems and processes have obviously not settled yet. It took 25 minutes to get our first drink and then the food service was really (really) slow. We’ll go again, but not until things settle.
I’d heard bad reviews, mainly on service and running out of things (obviously teething problems) however the service we had was great, no waiting . The food was fine, bar my chicken being a bit dry on the sandwich and the sausages being over done on my daughters meal, left her not being able to eat them all . But overall much better than we expected .
Excellent manager , lovely waiter.
Friendly staff who were accommodating in small additions to the meal. Spacious seating area so you didn’t feel cramped while chatting and eating. Food was very tasty! Toilets needed attention-no toilet paper in two cubicles and no paper towel for drying hands.
very disappointed that dinner menu was not on on bank hol Monday. only breakfast and lunch menu. had run out of some foods the burger I ordered was not freshly cooked, overdone and dry. very little garnish... limp leaves...badly presented. hopefully the ironing teething problems will resolve
The staff were run off their feet and did their best. The food however was not good. I had the farmhouse breakfast and the potato was cremated and full of oil, the pudding was hard and dry. The bacon, sausage and egg were ok, dry too. My girlfriend had the caramel cake which was dry and she ate less than half. Overall disappointed and will be a while before we give it another try.
Was really looking forward to visiting the new GFP in Skerries. A bit disappointed however at the service and quality of food. I am hoping it is purely down to it being new and everyone finding their feet. We sat down at 6.15 for dinner, and at 6.40 we finally got served our drinks. I ordered the bottomless prosecco, and asked 3 times for my second glass to be refilled. We simply ordered a bottle of wine so I didn't have to keep asking again as it was very frustrating. Starters were nice, (although I think the meatballs should be served with a slice of ciabatta but just a personal opinion). I had the salmon for dinner which was a little over cooked. The potatoes were nice but the lentils were so bland, I don't think they were dressed with anything. I had to ask for lemon and put plenty of salt and pepper on them. We returned for brunch a few days later, the buttermilk chicken was so dry..... really disappointing. And my son's pancakes must have been made hours before and reheated as they had gone hard. Not the light and fluffy pancakes you would normally expect in a good quality brunch eaterie. Needless to say we had the same issues again with slow staff, but they all seemed new. We will give it a couple of months before we return, but I really hope that the floor staff and kitchen find their feet soon enough, as I would love for it to be my weekly local!
Very enjoyable Sunday brunch. Great atmosphere with friendly and efficient service. Highly recommended!
despite it being very busy the service was calm, polite and efficient
Loved it-we were sitting beside the kitchen service area which was fine-only one issue was that there was a lot of small flies around the table-one landed in my wine-it eas a hot day but could be an issue with some customers. Otherwise it was a lovely lunch and I will be visiting again.
felt a little all over the place. Waited about 30mins before anyone came over to us and then waited an hour before our starters came out! Food was delicious just a pity service was VERY slow
