About Gourmet Food Parlour Skerries
Located in the bustling seaside town of Skerries. Gourmet Food Parlour is situated in a beautiful Georgian building on the leafy Church St.
The starter was very good but unfortunately my wife's main ( Fish and chips) was not good . We brought the matter to the attention of the waiter who advised his supervisor who dealt with the issue in a very professional manner ,It was our first time in the restaurant and we would be reluctant to return
Gorgeous food, great atmosphere & very pleasant staff
Had a lovely lunch with some friends & all our babies...we were seated at a comfortably large table with room for all including high chairs. Service was great & so was the food. Staff are very friendly & accommodating.
Our first visit to the new GFP in Skerries. We were very impressed, the service was good, the food was delicious and there was a nice buzz. Hope it stays this good.
My daughter was left waiting for her breakfast 15mins after we received ours. When it arrived the pancakes were burnt. My poached eggs were rock hard. Not how they should be. Had to ask theee times for bill before it came. Granted it was busy but still disappointing.
My first visit here and we has a fantastic night. The food was amazing and will definitely be going back.
Very good service, just a little pricey for just simple sandwiches and wraps. The surroundings are pleasant, but really nothing special that makes gourmet any different to any other café/restaurant. Very friendly staff which makes all the difference.
I had difficulty using the on line booking so I had to ring , leave a message and they did ring me back . Otherwise everything was lovely.
Four cheeses pasta n pear dish could be improved
Pre ordered our food and it was ready on our arrival. We’ll be back
Great restaurant. Lovely food and atmosphere.
Kitchen needs to care about food. Cold pasta not good enough. Waiting staff needs a full compliment against bookings.
Absolutely loved it just felt the €1 charge for a bottle of tap water was an unnecessary negativity. Service and food great though.
Great experience. I went with my elderly mother & the staff provided a really suitable chair for my mom. It was comfortable and stylish. The staff were very attentive and the food was excellent. I definitely recommend this lovely restaurant.
Service far too slow, 3 drinks in before our starters arrived.
The service by the waiters/waitresses was fine but unfortunately the food was a big letdown. The waitress did ask was everything ok with the meal before I left but I felt it was unfair to relay the issues with her as she didn’t cook the meal. My scallop starter was ok but that was it only ok, the black pudding crumb that it came with was just a grease carrier, if it was a least a slice of black pudding it may have been better. Timing seemed to be the problem in the kitchen. The elements of the main part of the meal I had ranged from cold portobello mushroom, cold onions in batter, warm steak, hot sweet potato chips ,warm asparagus & cold broccoli stems. Personally I’d drop the wooden boards most of the food seems to be served on and just use a good sized warm plate. That’s just a personal preference for me. To open a new business with an up and running name brand already, in a town like Skerries most people I think would expect a better standard of cooking. Overall I think you’ve missed the mark at the moment here, there’s nothing exciting or different about the menu compared to other establishments in the town especially when you’d a good opportunity to have and be something different opening a new place that people would naturally just want to try out because it’s new in the town. I hope this is just a hiccup for you at the moment and things do improve and your business is successful, but at the moment it would take a lot of good reviews to make me even think about going back again.
Lovely evening, staff nice not intrusive. Early bird good value
Service was exceptional and we felt really welcome and looked after. Our food was great and served first to the children in our group so they didn’t have to wait too long. Overall really enjoyable experience and would highly recommend.
Good food but there was a terrible draft from the smoking area which had a negative impact on the whole experience. Won’t return. We raised it with staff and they didn’t do anything to resolve it
Food and service fantastic , staff couldn't have been more helpful and friendly . Will definitely be back .
When we go out to eat as a family we like to eat together. We order a couple of starters to shar. The first 2 arrived out and then we were left waiting 10 minutes for the last starter. While finishing the third starter the kids meals were put out at the table. After waiting 25 minutes waiting on the adults mains we were told there would be another wait as they weren’t ready. My husband at this point cancelled his main. I continued to wait a further 10 minutes for my main. When it was put on the table there was no apology just told it is kitchen policy to serve kids meals first. At this point I decided to forgo having a dessert. There are 3 options for the kids menu and they ordered one each. The waiterss came back five minutes later saying one of the options was not available. On a whole food is good and value for money but they really need to work on communications between wait staff and kitchen in terms of what is available on the day and how customers are treated. Based on the poor service I wouldn’t recommend for families.
Staff were lovely, helpful and friendly. Chloe was so professional and polite and gave us such a warm welcome.
Waited over an hr for food. A table who arrived after us were served and leaving before our food arrived very expensive I thought for what we received after early bird. Service initially attentive then drops off.. Food was dry
First time visiting GFP Skerries, I normally go to the one in Swords. Lovely staff and our brunch was nicer than the one we normally get in Swords. Will be back again for sure!
