About Good Brothers Wine Bar
We are a small neighbourhood wine bar with a passion for small producers, natural wines and a constantly changing selection of wines by the glass.
We also have a carefully curated cocktail and spirits list which changes regularly.
If you're hungry we'd love to fill your bellies with our Bar Bites menu, a selection of satisfying snacks designed for sharing over a bottle of wine. Food is available until Midnight, or 1am at the weekends. Delicious!
We are two brothers, brought up locally, with over 20 years of passion and experience in the hospitality and wine industry. We love interesting wines and love changing our wine list every week to keep things fresh and exciting for ourselves and our guests. Our wines originate for the most part from small producers that intervene as little as possible in the cultivation process and work with as much care as possible for the grapes and land.
I suggested trying Good Brothers recently for celebratory drinks with a friend. Loved the atmosphere and the wine was delicious, but we struggled to anticipate what would be in the dishes based on the menu (my friend is a vegetarian) so we asked the server. She didn't seem used to being asked, but assured us only two of the items weren't vegetarian (the two which listed obvious meat or fish items). One dish we had tasted familiar to me, but I hadn't heard of Bagna Cauda so I thought it might be seaweed - when I looked it up at home I realised it contains anchovies, and the server had assured us it was vegetarian (we even specified no fish). Very disappointing not to either indicate clearly on the menu which items are vegetarian, or have properly informed staff. Worth addressing this as it was otherwise a lovely evening.
Always a lovely night, thank you all VERY much!
This was our first visit to Good Brothers. We felt that there could have been a little bit more guidance and advice either on the menu or from the staff on how to select the dishes and what might suit a group of 6 sharing what was ordered. Also while we don;t mind food coming out when it is ready it might be good if dishes that go well together come out at the same time - the tzatziki & bread. The chips wit the medium dishes - not last once we had finished everything else. However, the food was delicious and we enjoyed it. The wines are pricey - they look great but we opted for beers instead. It's a good place to try for a change of scene.
Charming and attentive service with great wine and a superb cheese platter
Fantastic food and uber cool venue and service
Great food and wine, served by knowledgeable waiter.
Excellent food and good value, particularly the whitebait. Great choice of wines with very reasonable mark-ups
Second visit and have really enjoyed both; have left wanting to recommend to friends and family. The general service is excellent, in particular enjoyed a few conversations with Rory with regards to the natural wine selection. The enthusiasm in, and dedication to your products is clear and particularly appreciate the chance to sample before buying.
Amazing food, staff, service, and of course wine. One of the speakers near our table was a touch loud/heavy on the bass but that is the only slight down point which comes to mind. Will be back for sure - superb place!
Excellent all round... will definitely be back, and will definitely recommend!!
Excellent wine selection, menu is fantastic food was delicious service was spot on.
Love the lighter look, and the lighter menu.
Excellent range of wines, reasonably priced - particularly taken with the Orange wine. Very helpful advice on choosing them - the staff couldn’t have been more helpful. Thoroughly enjoyed the snacks which are imaginative, very tasty and also good value. My first visit, and I’ll be back!
Very relaxed, informative waiter Jacob. Highly recommended tucked just off main road in Stockbridge. Lynne
We really like the place and came for dinner on Saturday evening. The music started off very good but then some sort of rap/R&B was put on. We decided to leave at that point as the atmosphere changed. Pity.
Great food, wine & staff 👍
Brought my parents here having already eaten at Goodbrothers twice before. Everyone was impressed by the friendly and relaxed atmosphere and the service. Staff really know what they are talking about when it comes to wine and it's so lovely to try different wines on a night out. The food was unbelievable, honestly one of the nicest meals out I've had in Edinburgh. We will certainly be back!
baba ganoush should be served with pita. the chips were a bit odd
The menu is fairly small but the food is excellent and beautifully presented. The wine list is extensive and the staff are very knowledgeable and attentive. Can definitely recommend the Good Brothers.
Always a pleasure to visit Good Brothers and the food was particularly delicious. It was pretty quiet when we visited but it was late lunchtime and made it easy to have a good chat with my friends. I've been in many times before when atmosphere is buzzier. Excellent service from the lovely team.
A gem of a find!
I really enjoyed my first visit. The service, food and drink were all excellent and i will definitely be back soon. Only criticism was that you had run out of de-caf coffee.
Friendly and knowledgeable service. Interesting and enjoyable wines. First time we'd tried the food - good range on offer and very tasty. Wifi was a bit temperamental (but not that important in the scheme of things). See you again soon, I hope!
Loved the tapas style sharing food plates! Great wine and atmosphere for a relaxed drink and dinner and a friendly knowledgeable team.
