About Godolphin Arms
Enjoy table service, sit back and relax in one of our light bathed and restful spaces - all with far-reaching views out over Marazion, Mount's Bay and St Michael's Mount. Sit in the glass and zinc extension, with doors that open out for al fresco dining during the summer months. Celebrate with family or friends around the intimate Captain's Table that seats nine, or alternatively, relax in our upper deck that has easy sofas, comfy chairs and a log burner. On the lower deck, walk straight in off the beach to the chilled-out Beach Bar. Outside, the beach terrace is a place to linger, absorb the astonishing views of Mount's Bay and simply watch the world go by.
Today the waitresses were very friendly and couldn’t do more to help us to ensure we had everything we needed with 2 children and a baby in tow. Another member of staff was helpful and assisted us with the lift instead of juggling the stairs with the pushchair. A lovely breakfast ‘play date’ for us mummies and children!
Service was very poor, item ordered was vegetable tart, actually given a nut roast, lamb portion very over cooked, gravy was bland & tasteless, no-one in overall charge, staff more concerned with relaying tables than serving - we tried 4 times to ask for a second round of drinks, we gave up in the end, this has happened to us before, we are very disappointed, don’t feel like returning
A great place for a short break - friendly and helpful staff, superb, room - comfortable and warm; excellent bathroom - and amazingly good breakfasts and dinners.
We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch, generous portions, beautifully presented and tasty, the staff were helpful too
We ate twice, in the afternoon we had wine and olives and bread whilst we waited for our room. One disappointment was that we seemed to wait a long time for attention, my husband had to go and ask for service. I had observed other people being seated and orders taken whilst we waited. I wandered if this was because, as we were shown to our table, the place settings were removed, thus gave the impression that we had eaten rather than just waiting for a drink. Once he arrived the waiter was very attentive, chatty and gave suggestions. Our wine was good but I felt would have been better slightly cooler, I was also disappointed with the glassware, it had many stains and water marks, gave the impression of not being clean. Our second visit was as per our reservation, very good service, well paced meal. My husband ordered the dish which had been suggested by the waiter earlier and the recommended wine, he enjoyed both. Food was piping hot, well presented and very tasty. A pleasant, relaxed, casual place to eat. I am sure we'll be back.
The staff were all absolutely lovely. However the food was a little disappointing in all honesty.
Wewere very pleased with our meal and the service it was a great experience all our family and friends were very happy with the evening thank you very much.
What a delightful place. Great food, great service, great value for money. Will be back.
Comfortable and relaxing stay, fabulous views of Mounts Bay, loved it here especially out of season , place to yourself. Staff all very helpful and pleasant.
Great service, great food, great views. Just perfect.
Always get a lovely meal when we come here . Will definitely come again next time we are in Cornwall
Sunday roast was not as good as it used to be. There used to be more of a selection of vegetables. Service was excellent, staff are always lovely here.
Lovely waiter , very helpful. Food excellent
Very good experience, only negative was the food took so long to arrive but the restaurant was pretty much empty apart from us. Service was excellent.
We do not think dogs should be in dining areas (there were 2). If we had been told there would be dogs we would not have booked. Please ensure that there are separate areas and that diners are offered a choice. We live locally and would like to dine regularly but find the current arrangement unacceptable.
Wasn’t the greatest experience. As there was 12 of us I wouldn’t expect a lot of the dishes off the menu I’m to be unavailable, the steak advertised a sirloin but it clearly wasn’t by the fat content or a very bad cut. being priced at £25 I would expect a lot better.
excellent meal and service.
With friends and family we have been lucky to eat 3 times recently at the Godolphin. Each time the food and service has been fantastic! The portion sizes are good and the food has always been hot on arrival and delicious. In previous years on New Years Day the Restaurant has felt a little overcrowded, cluttered and noisy, but this year the atmosphere was much more relaxed and we really enjoyed it, thank you!
We had a fabulous stay thank you. Staff were welcoming, friendly, professional and attentive from the moment we arrived to the moment wr Left. My wife, our 6 year old daughter and I felt valued and cared for - your staff make such a difference. The location and views could sell the hotel on their own, but your attention to detail, care and pride make the Godolphin Arms a very special place - we cant wait to return.
Waiting staff were very helpful and very cheerful. A pleasure to be there.
Had the Sunday roast which was lovely.
We have eaten at the Godolphin Arms on several occasions, and have been satisfied. However, on this birthday celebration evening we were some what let down and disappointed, due to a lack of fish! Several of our party ordered fish and chips, but only one request could be fulfilled. This news was delivered politely by staff but no apology was made. Our party drew lots for this one portion, and the others had to revisit the menu. I know it is difficult to gauge how many people will order fish - but fish and chips in a seaside resort surely it must be a top choice?! The menu is quite fancy so the younger members of our party found it difficult to find anything else they fancied. It could have spoilt our evening but we made sure it didn't. The food when it arrived was nice, and the Goan Fish curry was especially enjoyed. Not sure we will rush back or recommend.
Much enjoyed. Came 340 miles for Sunday lunch. Will be back, but can’t make it every Sunday! Thank you for the window seat. Mother (86) very thrilled.
Lovely food, very contemporary setting with lovely views.
Perfectly pleasant experience as usual.
