Food was excellent as were staff. We really had a great experience and will be back. Thank you for making our celebrations so enjoyable
Not very professional service. The food was OK but really nothing special. Disappointed as it was for a special occasion
The staff were all lovely but the afternoon tea was exceptionally poor. It was clear that one of two things happened. Either the hotel does not take bookings for afternoon tea midweek (but pretends to). Or the information about the booking was not passed on to the kitchen. Either way, the cakes were three normal pastries (a brownie, some kind of pear-filled pastry, and a normal-sized blueberry muffin). The brownie and the pastry were cut up into four pieces, so make it look like they were similar to the small pastries on the website. The huge muffin was left intact. There were two small tubs of whipped cream but no scone (which is explicitly listed on the website). Essentially, it seemed as if one of the staff had had to run out to Spar to get some pastries. Or else they were items left lying around from breakfast. In any case, the pastries were almost inedible and what I received bore no resemblance to what it advertised on the website. Cork is full of hotels. Had I been told that afternoon tea could not be served for one person mid-week, I would have booked somewhere else.
I booked a table for 5.30pm as we were staying in the hotel and heading to a gig in the Marquee. That morning I received a reminder email asking me to confirm the table. However when we went down to the restaurant we were told they don't take bookings at that time and that the restaurant doesn't open until 6.15pm. We ended up having to eat from the lunch menu. We complained at the time and the manager gave us a discount but that wasn't the point. It was supposed to be a special weekend for our mother with a nice dinner and a concert. If I had gotten an email back saying the restaurant wasn't open at that time I would have booked somewhere else but by that time it was too late to go and find somewhere. I don't understand how a booking can be taken if the restaurant is closed at that time. Whatever error led to this situation needs to be rectified.
There was confusion as to which menu we could order from. Our booking was for 5pm. We sat in the bar, which was absolutely fine but because dinner menu was only starting at 5 , it was confusing.
Very slow service
Had a fantastic time food was amazing and the servers; Lorraine and Kerry were very prompt, professional and accommodating Will definitely be returning
Staff were extremely accommodating and friendly. Lovely afternoon tea and service was second to none will definitely return when in Cork.
The food is not the best, I took the burger and to be honest I felt it wasn't fresh from the first bite. The chicken wings were super hot on the top of the plate and cold on the bottom, as they re-heated them in the microwave. I didn't like the dessert either, it was too sweet. The service was ok, maybe the waitress was too pushy, asking several times if it was all ok...
An very good way to meet and catch up with friends. The staff are excellent, very friendly. The afternoon tea is very good value for money especially when you consider hotel prices.
Good prompt service, excellent value for money
Really nice lunch and great selection on the menu
Incredibly good service - we were so happy with everything. Highly recommended. Thank you, we will be back
Fantastic food and service
Absolutely lovely 3 course meal - devine!
Friendly and helpful staff, very tasty food, steaks were especially good.
Extremely nice staff, food and atmosphere
We booked a 3 course dine and stay package which was quite expensive. The menu was v limited. Food was ok nothing great. We started our meal at 5.30. We ordered our desserts straight after dinner. We never got them at all. We had to leave at 7.15 to get concert bus. Service was poor. Everything in the room was good for overnight stay.
Enjoyed our stay food was great and service was excellent.
