About Glasshouse Restaurant
Taking its name from the original glasshouse designed by Edward Milner, a renowned landscape architect who also designed Oakley Hall’s gardens, in c.1850, the Glasshouse Restaurant was built in 2014. With its roots in 19th century grandeur, the Glasshouse Restaurant provides an elegant and sophisticated environment in which to enjoy a fine dining experience.
Diners can now experience the many delights of modern British cuisine within an elegant yet relaxed environment. As befits a 2 AA Rosette restaurant, quality is everything – right down to every ingredient. We follow a ‘field to fork’ philosophy and pride ourselves on using local produce sourced from within a 50-mile radius to create seasonal specials and signature dishes. Some produce even comes from our own Kitchen Garden, where we grow up to ten different types of vegetables, a wide variety of herbs and plenty of fruit.
Traditional Sunday Lunch is served every week between 12-2pm and Afternoon Tea can be enjoyed 7 days a week between 3-5pm.

An absolutely fantastic experience; the composition of the afternoon tea was spot on, well balanced between sandwiches, cakes and scones and tasted delightful. A special birthday for my wife and we were all made to feel very special - nothing was too much trouble and made for a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon.
Very nice atmosphere
However I think you should alter your menu slightly. my husband ordered the trout and was very disappointed and surprised to be given a piece of salmon trout as opposed to rainbow trout. Your menu is misleading if he had known he would have ordered something else.
Excellent Afternoon Tea - couldn't fault it! I had previously added instructions to my booking about my Dad who has certain dietary requirements. I was a bit dubious that these wouldn't be followed given passed experiences but they were and I couldn't of been more pleased. Would definitely go again
My wife and I dined here as we were married at Oakley Hall one year ago to that day. Like at the wedding, the food was outstanding in both presentation, quality and flavour. You definitely get what you pay for. The staff were faultless and very polite. We were even presented with a slate decorated with macarons and "Happy Anniversary" in white chocolate which I hadn't expected at all, a really nice touch. We will be back for sure, can't rate the food at The Glasshouse restaurant highly enough.
Lovely afternoon tea at Oakley Hall for my Nan's 75th Birthday. Great food and the staff are fantastic. They also provided my Nan a little birthday cake which we didn't ask for - lovely touch. We will visit again for sure.
The starter & dessert was great but the main was a disappointment the steak should have been fillet and the dishes were too rich .
Had another fantastic afternoon tea, beautiful food amazing service. Thankyou all for a lovely afternoon 😊
Great atmosphere, very professional personnel and good food. Also, plenty of tea to enjoy yourself. Surroundings are stunning. We really enjoyed our time there and would like to go back soon and spend more time enjoying the outside.
Lovely food with a good choice across all courses. Service was responsive, we were dining just after a bank holiday weekend so was very quiet.
the lunch at the restaurant was exceptional, lovely food great service in beautiful surroundings, however the breakfast was not to the same standard as the lunch, which was a little disappointing but did not spoil the overall experience at the hotel, hence why only 4stars for food & drink
Very accommodating - 4 generations of my family had an enjoyable afternoon tea, from my 18 month old son to his great grandmother. Thank you very much,
Excellent from booking right up to after the event. Beautiful setting and good service. All our guests enjoyed the event immensely. Our only problem was using the bar afterwards as it suddenly filled with another big party, but as there were two other events going on was probably to be expected. We found another quiet area away from the bar to socialise with our guest so was ok. Have been to Oakley Hall for events a number of times, and will certainly return. Thank you to the staff for making our anniversary lunch run so smoothly.
We had afternoon tea. Finger sandwiches were very nice and from the cakes the peach one was lovely. I personally would have preferred normal size scones!
The scones were bit too hard and too small. Maybe they would have been fresher. Otherwise the environment and setting can not be faulted.
This is the second time we have had tea here and both have been thoroughly enjoyable occasions. Yesterday was for a special birthday so we included champagne this time for a memorable afternoon. Highly recommended.
This was our first visit to Oakley Hall for afternoon tea. The welcome was good but our table was sat away from the windows which was a shame as the weather was stunning as were the gardens and view from the restaurant. The selection of teas was good and we were able to try a couple of different ones, the Assam bing our favourite. The service was ok but not excellent, we had to grab the waiters attention for a tea refill. The food, like the service, was ok but not excellent. The sandwiches were a little unimaginative and we had to pay to get some more, the first time we have ever had to pay for more sandwiches at an afternoon tea. The cakes were also ok but a little dry, the macaroons were hard and the Mille feuille didn't have enough filling so was all pastry. The scones were over baked and very crunchy. The flavours were good though, the lemon curd was lovely as was the jam. The setting is great, the gardens were lovely but overall the tea was a disappointment. We enjoyed our afternoon but probably won't be back to sample another tea.
Fantastic
Visited several times now, always have a great time. No hassling to leave quickly so can enjoy natter with friends.
It was very impressive and the staff looked after us very well. Cost though is always an issue - hence the above slight variation in rating.
would have preferred a jug of tap water to the bottled water offered, which at £4.60/bottle wasn't a good deal. The after meal coffee would of been better served with cream rather than milk. Overall my dinning experience was very good & will be returning
We had a lovely evening celebrating my fathers birthday, all ages were catered for and the food was amazing, thank you.
Brilliant service and plenty of good quality food.
Excellent. I will be sending a separate email.
Nice meal
