About Gigi's Italian Restaurant
Gigi's Italian Restaurant is a family-run restaurant in Bonnyrigg. We are proud to serve exquisite and authentic Italian cuisine to the area.
The combination of our amazing pizza, pastas seafood and grill, along with our casual atmosphere, allows us to welcome many regulars from the Midlothian area.
Restaurant was busy but service still prompt and food excellent . Very impressive .
My favourite restaurant. You never let me down. Food delicious and has the best bottle of Malbec I’ve ever tasted.
Lovely 18th birthday lunch. Food was delicious
First visit from my wife and I and we thouroughly enjoyed it. Great service from Mario and others. 5 out of 5 for all 3 course (and wine) from both of us (except my wife's dessert which was not as expected and was not charged for, which was appreciated). We were never rushed and were allowed to eat and drink at our pace which was great. I was hoping to escape the World Cup for an evening but there was a TV on at back of restaurant. No sound but still annoying! Still gets a 5 out of 5 overall and we'll certainly be back
Visited with the auld man for father's day. First time trying the new lobster section of the menu (opted for the lobster linguine) and was very impressed. Good sized portions and full of flavour. The place was very busy (as it always seems to be these days) but the service was still excellent and we even stayed for a few more drinks after the meal as w didn't feel rushed to leave to allow for the next wave of bookings.
Great service with delicious food
As a regular customer of Gigi’s I’m disappointed to say that our Father’s Day meal was the worst experience I’ve had in the restaurant. We were seated for an hour before our starters arrived, we had to ask for more drinks, the kids empty plates hadn’t been removed before their desserts arrived. A few of the waiters seemed more interested in the World Cup which was being shown. When we spoke to the manager his attitude was extremely poor and he advised it was normal waiting times. Having eaten in Gigi’s at peak times on many an occasion I beg to differ. There was not even so much as an apology. When I asked about loyalty points I was told the card should be posted soon so basically the meal that cost over £100 I was not given any loyalty points for. The whole atmosphere was chaotic and a waiter even dropped a cheese grater on one table and a glass smashed all over the couple who were sitting there. It is understandable that restaurants will have ‘off’ nights, however, in this instance I would expect management to show more concern for customers’ opinions.
Absolutely outstanding food served here.....cannot fault in any way!!!!.....keep up the amazing work guys.......
Warmly welcomed into the restaurant. Despite being busy the waiters/waitresses were very attentive. Not too long to wait after ordering our meal. As always the meals were delicious. As good as,.....if not better.any Italian in town!! Thank You for another GREAT evening.
Amazing food as always!

Excellent food with a varied menu, attentive and efficient service and pleasant atmosphere. Highly recommended.
Fabulous service and food! Loved it! Will definitely be back!
Had a lovely lunch here with my Mum, food delicious, service perfect and a lovely place to be in, thank you.
All round excellent service
Probably the best meal we have had in the last 6 months. Excellent food and service. Thankyou.
I have never ever been impressed with Italian Restaurants in general in terms of service and most importantly the quality of the food! Apart from an Italian restaurant in Bridge st Aberdeen where I lived for some time back in the early ninetees. I am 58 yrs old and have eaten in many Italian restaurants over the years and would rate Gigis quality of food as mediocre and the same would apply to the service. In summary it's a 6 out of ten. I won't be rushing back anytime soon.
Fantastic food and staff we were made to feel very welcome and relaxed will Definately go again and soon
Amazing as always
Fabulous night spent in GiGi's with friends. Good food, a few drinks and a warm welcome from all of the staff. Best Italian Restuarant in Midlothian.
Lovely food! Excellent service.
Always great service when visiting, food is good value and never had a bad meal once, one of my favourite places to eat.
Waiting staff to quick clearing plates (fork had barely touched the plate) instead of dessert we asked for cocktails once we had finished the wine , delivered to table when glasses still half full. Whole evening just felt rushed
Superb tasty meal couldn't fault meal or wine at all..recommended
