About Giggling Squid Reigate
The New Thai Restaurant Giggling Squid is a Thai food sensation. The simple, rustic, fresh food of Thailand.
The best Thai food For lunchtime eating, our tasting 'sets' or our Thai tapas.
Waited for 10 minutes for our drinks to be served , 1 hour for the main. Even after that we had a 10% service charge added. Not too impressed. Food is 3.5 out of 5.
The suggested Gin cocktail was very clearly lacking in Gin, despite mentioning it twice to the staff no replacement or refund was offered. Strange lay out in the restaurant and had to walk past the dishwasher, while it was open to get to our table! Some of the walls are grubby and the tables had serviettes shoved under them to stop the wobble.
The food was amazing !!!
Food was incredible and the atmosphere amazing. Quite pricey but it won't put me off coming again!!
Good food but felt we were rushed to order which meant we were done in 45mins. Shame as we wanted to enjoy a drink or two..:(
Lovely food and staff
Lovely quaint Thai restaurant, food and service were both on point!!!
Food was a little salty for my liking but was still tasty.
Excellent food and service. Would highly recommend.
First visit and loved the food and atmosphere. Will definitely be back
Another great meal in this Fab restaurant!
Really good service and great food
We are regulars at this restaurant and would normally be delighted to recommend it, but the restaurant last night was in chaos, service was appallingly slow, the food came at different times so some dishes were cold by the time others arrived. We tried the rack of ribs for a change and they were no better than a £5 pack from the supermarket with a sauce poured on the top, we did complain and we weren't charged which we appreciated, but wont order the dish again
Quite expensive and service not great. Mixed our order up and another table next to us as well. Would still come back though
Delicious food, excellent service and lovely staff.
It wasn’t very busy when I arrived, so we had our pick of where to sit. Lovely surroundings and a good atmosphere! I had the prawn pad Thai, which came out in a timely fashion and the portion size was generous! Fresh food and the prawns were huge! I had a lovely, crisp glass of wine and my boyfriend had a Chang beer with his meal. Reasonably priced and good quality food. This place is a good spot for a quick bite or a more formal sit down meal with family or friends. I will definitely be going again.
It's one of my main go-to restaurants now for lunch.
Great food as usual.
Lovely as always.
Food was great and the lunchtime specials were really good value.
Great food, fast service and lovely staff. Highly recommend.
Very busy restaurant, but we received great service and tasty food.
Unfortunately, the Giggling Squid didn't live up to expectation. The welcome was warm, and friendly, but the high points end there I'm afraid. The service is very slow - my wife and I had empty plates and glasses on our table for over 20 minutes. That means 20 minutes with a cluttered table, and 20 minutes without an offer of another drink. The food was bland. Thai food is normally fragrant and flavoursome, but the pepper squid tasted only of batter, no pepper coming through. The mains fell a bit flat. They were nice enough, but no real wow to either of them. I'm afraid what tainted it all most however was the price. It was a meal for 2 adults, with an eight year old boy. Starters and mains, and 2 drinks per person. No desert. £94. I'm sorry, but considering the food and service experienced, we considered this to be very steep. I'm sorry to say, we wont be visiting again.
The whole evening was very pleasant and food and drink lovely. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere. Not sure that this will become our 'go to' restaurant on the basis that it is more expensive than other nearby similar restaurants who seem to provide better value for money - although glad we tried it at least once. Just one thing...one off the waiting staff whilst very friendly and helpful was a little too keen to talk to us all as a table at the end of the evening...we were all chatting to each other quite happily when he came and interrupted to talk to us as a group....a pleasant young man but not our friend and we didn't go out to have a conversation with him but with each other. It felt a little intrusive and I didn't wish to be rude by asking him to go away...but perhaps he could be a little less 'enthusiastic' in future. Overall though a nice evening.
