About Giggling Squid Kingston
The New Thai Restaurant Giggling Squid is a Thai food sensation. The simple, rustic, fresh food of Thailand. From street food to coastal specialties. Eat at Giggling Squid for startling flavours, amazing colours, and original textures.
Best restaurant for Thai food Everything is cooked from scratch by Thai chefs. Where practical ingredients are sourced locally. We have a love of seafood, and we have a wide range of dishes beyond that.
The best Thai food For lunchtime eating, our tasting 'sets' or our Thai tapas. An excellent way to try lots of different dishes in one go.
For evening menu, a bowl of rice is charge as a side dish not together with main course meal. Beef in coconut sauce only one bone in a plate. Not much meat as a main course. Overall evening menu a bit pricy.
Visited the Squid at Kingston on Saturday. Service was excellent. Food was good. Bit pricey. Music wasn't my cup of tea a little loud. Which seem to make everybody talk very loudly. It's not a quiet Restaurant. I also strongly disagree with a 10 percent service charge automatically being added to the bill. It should be up to the customers discretion that way you know that the staff will receive the tip not the restaurant! To many establishment are doing this and it's wrong. Would I go back probably but i'd pick a quieter time.
Food was nice, however a few items not available from the menu. Also had no small beers and the large ones were warm.
Our server Jess was brilliant and friendly. The food was delicious and we will definitely be returning. I would recommend the ribs and the dumplings they were so tasty
good food, good choices for vegans, good service, will come again.
Absolutely amazing restaurant! The atmosphere of this restaurant was lovely, the decoration was beautiful I walked in And kept saying to my boyfriend "it's so beautiful in here" it really was absolutely lovely! It was a little bit loud but the restaurant was packed so I'm not surprised! The menu was lovely - I loved the little stories it was nice to read it really made the restaurant! And of course the food - I was blown away. The food was delicious. Me and my boyfriend eat out a lot but this is by far the best food I have had. We ordered a lot of food because we wanted to try a bit of everything - the presentation was lovely, the portion size perfect (usually this style of cuisine the portion size is too small but the portion size was perfect) and the taste - I loved it it was so delicious I wanted to go back the next day. I will definitely come back it was amazing!
I had a delicious lunch with work colleagues. Food was lovely and staff friendly. However the one course we ordered (there were 8 of us) took over 45 minutes to arrive. Colleagues had to rush their food and one had to have a take away in order to get back to meetings. Even after asking for an update on our order and expressing that we needed to return to work it still took another 20 minutes. Speedier lunchtime service needs a bit of work.
Excellent Booked for dinner now
Lovely food, although if you are only after something standard such as a pad thai there are cheaper alternatives that are just as good - although their pad thai is delicious! The service was a little overwhelming but as they are brand new we felt it was great that they were checking I that everything was working, however, there is only so many times you can reassure the staff that everything is fabulous. I have tried 3 restaurants in this chain and whilst 3 courses will set you back £40pp+ with a glass of wine, which is more than most high street chain restaurants, I will go back because it is VERY tasty food.
Amazing staff. Could not fault them.
Air con was quite cold. We had to ask two separate times for it to be turned off. The staff did do as we asked
Service staff v eager. Just need practice. Starters yum. Mains a bit less distinctive in taste. A bit brown gravy massiman curry.
Very enjoyable; attentive service. Good value for money at lunch time :)
Very nice ambience, but worry that it may be very noisy as there is music, not very full when we were there, so not noisy. Food excellent and service - latter bit to much checking on us but very eager to please.
fantastic food, great portion sizes. lovely ambience
We had a lovely time & the food was delicious. Very friendly & helpful staff. Will definitely be back.
Staff were really helpful and they all welcomed us when we arrived which made out visit special
The staff were really attentive and very friendly and the food was outstanding
Absolutely delicious and lovely space, room was a little cold though!
Great food, service and not too pricey. I’d quite like the lunch, tapas option to also be available for dinner.
We came here within the first week of opening and first impressions were great! A beautifully light and spacious eating area in this restaurant was a nice surprise. The service was attentive and personal without being overbearing at all. Every staff member said hello to us when we were walking to our table and this positivity continued all the way through the meal. We opted for a load of starters between the 2 of us and then just one main course. This for us was the best way to sample as much as possible and we loved every dish. The food was beautiful and we will definitely be returning to try some more dishes. Ignore any negative reviews and try it for yourself, you won’t be disappointed.
Positives: - Food was great, very tasty - Loved the look and feel of the restaurant - Staff very friendly Negatives: - So many staff.... - We ordered prawns but received chicken, all resolved quickly though. - We ordered plain noodles for our 4 year old. Three people came back to double check this with us. - The food took a long time to arrive
Took over an hour for our starters to arrive.
Really like the new Kingston restaurant. Three generations of us went there to celebrate my daughters 13th birthday. Great food and service including a candle in her desert and singing happy birthday!
