About Giancarlo's italian
Our family started their Scottish Italian story, many years ago, journeying from their humble beginnings in the mountain village of Picinisco, making their way across Europe, to settle, eventually, in Scotland, to make their living. Of the great diaspora, that spread Italians across the globe, none, could have been more improbable, than their settlement in the remote, rainy Scotland. However, the affinity between the Scots and the Italians was instant. Scotland challenged Italians, but ultimately accommodated them and, in turn, the Scots and Italians learned from each other.
The culinary imprint of Italians can be seen everywhere on British streets. Walk down any major city street, and you will likely find, an Italian, or a descendent, selling ice cream, fish and chips, or, food inspired by their homeland.
Brilliant food and delish waiter
Delicious food with great service and attention to detail. Would definitely recommend and will be returning soon.
Good food and good service!
Excellent service & food as always - never ever disappointed!!
No complaints, food and service great as usual!
My first visit but not sure I would be back unfortunately. Our waiter was fab but my pasta tasted very oily, could only taste the oil rather than pesto, also tasted undercooked and lacked flavour. There were only 3 tiny pieces of chicken which was hugely disappointing given it was chicken and pesto pasta. Like trying to find a needle in a haystack trying to find chicken. The starter of garlic bread pomodoro was also really disappointing as it tasted like passata instead of fresh tomatoes as expected. It was very busy so I maybe just had an unfortunate experience but disappointing.
From the minute we walked in until we left the service, food and drinks were superb! Thank you for a lovely night!
Fantastic restaurant the food is fresh and delicious with lovely staff great experience
Door was open a lot & it felt a bit cold. Lovely food & terrific service.
Love this place
Online they have a children's menu but when asked for it was told they don't have them. Very happy to do any dish in smaller portions tho. We were the only people in the whole time. Maybe also clean up 2 lots of dog poo right outside. Not very appealing.
Excellent Food & excellent service as usual. Would definitely recommend.
Background music just a wee bit too loud.
Everything was great some times to close to other people but overall fantastic
Fantastic meal and great atmosphere
Excellent service. Great food. Would highly recommend
Another great night, with very tasty food, wine and brilliant service. It was quiet when we arrived but very soon afterwards got quite busy. Our lovely waiter, the talented chef and hard working kitchen staff coped well and are very much a credit to the restaurant. See you again soon.
As always excellent service, food, and drinks. .
Another good meal
Fantastic food, fantastic service and fantastic atmosphere. We will definitely be back again! Thank you.
This is my local restaurant, the food and service are consistently very good. I would recommend it without reservation.
We did enjoy our meal, however there were a few things that were disappointing. We had to wait quite a while for someone taking our drinks order. The waitress was pleasant but there did not seem to be enough staff on for such a busy period. The food was good. The restaurant was very noises and at one point could hardly hear ourselves speak. We asked for a second round of drinks and I was given a large rose when I did not ask for it and my friend asked for a large glass of Pinot Grigio but received a small on, although we did not say anything at the time as the staff were very bus. Maybe little things but all add up to a disappointing visit. Shame as we have been before and experience much better first time.
Food was ok my pollo carbonara was dry and tasteless, service was quite slow
Very good, took the kids. They loved it.
