About Giancarlo's italian
Our family started their Scottish Italian story, many years ago, journeying from their humble beginnings in the mountain village of Picinisco, making their way across Europe, to settle, eventually, in Scotland, to make their living. Of the great diaspora, that spread Italians across the globe, none, could have been more improbable, than their settlement in the remote, rainy Scotland. However, the affinity between the Scots and the Italians was instant. Scotland challenged Italians, but ultimately accommodated them and, in turn, the Scots and Italians learned from each other.
The culinary imprint of Italians can be seen everywhere on British streets. Walk down any major city street, and you will likely find, an Italian, or a descendent, selling ice cream, fish and chips, or, food inspired by their homeland.
Had a great meal last night and as always the service was fab! Was lovely to see the restaurant after the refurbishment and to have so many customers in. Shame there was no kids menu - half my daughters pizza wasn’t eaten and it upsets me wasting food if we don’t need to, maybe something that can be considered going forward.
Fantastic food and service. Not enough time between table bookings, too many people waiting for their tables before others have left. Once all sat at table no issues. Could do with extra 10 mins added between bookings
In a horrible rainy night our meal at Giancarlos was certainly the high light of the day. Service was friendly, warm and welcoming accompanied by great food. Will certainly be back.
Wonderful meal. Nice atmosphere. Attentive staff. Look forward to the next time.
Lovely meal so nice to have you back. Enjoyed every aspect food and drink. Service was excellent. Would be nice to have a fish or chicken dish added to the menu
Disappointed no children’s menu available! Also surprised staff not wearing face masks, first eatery I’ve been to not to wear them.
Great local restaurant, service good if a bit slow but other than that can’t fault the place
Great food and staff very attentive.
Cannot fault the quality of the meal that my wife and I had. We both enjoyed it very much and will certainly return for another visit
If anything I would say it was a bit cold in the restaraunt
Staff always lovely and food is amazing. Great value for money
Online menu was not current. We were given new truncated menu with more expensive selection. We ordered draft beer and were brought two open small bottles. Then told pumps not working. Music on a short loop. Service with a slouch.
Great food and service as usual Maybe an evening 2 or 3 course special offer?
Great meal with friends. Service always fantastic!
Amazing food as always
We went for an evening meal for my husband's birthday. The food and service were very good and good value for money. Very cheerful staff. We recommend it.
Great Saturday late lunch
Service was woefully understaffed with only one chef and one waiter. Food was average, although there’s lots of choice on the menu.
Excellent lunch with good choice and value. 6 of us go out regularly and thought it was the best lunch we’d had really. Please make sure you have the calamari starter on when we come back on 16 April!
Pizza and wine, both delicious. The waiter was excellent
Excellent food. Could do with some new menus tho 😁
Great meal again last night, staff are very attentive. See you again soon.
We had a lovely evening, good food, great service. Will definitely come again.
Great lunch, we'll be back.
Beautiful food and restaurant. Our only mild concern was that there was only one waiter working and took 20 min to get some service for drinks after being seated. But he was very pleasant and very apologetic. Would definitely attend again.
