About Wildwood Gerrards Cross
A small collection of restaurants, serving freshly prepared food - with one simple aim; to serve great food delivered by friendly staff in a relaxed, homely environment. Whether you choose from the grill section, stone-baked pizza or our freshly prepared pastas, our passion for high quality dishes is the main focus across all of our restaurants.
It was really busy and full of Christmas parties, however the service was still excellent! Our server in particular was very attentive and came to check on us regularly. At the end of the meal about 3 people asked if we wanted coffee. Just shows how attentive the staff were to ensure they kept up with our orders. The only negative thing I found that the prawn pasta dish was super oily and it was a bit off putting.
brilliant night. Chrissie and the team really pulled out all the stops. The staff were excellent and the food was excellent.
We wanted a dirty martini but couldn’t be made! No rosemary chips!
Excellent food and service as always
Extremely dissapointing for gluten intolerant - pizza undercooked, and items on non gluten menu which manager admitted were not without high risk of cross contamination. Also staff service was awful
Fab food and service
it should be made clear when booking a xmas party that service charge will be added - the cost exclg service was collected beforehand from my colleagues and I was left paying 25 pounds service at the end of the evening
We had a booking for Sunday 2nd December, but unfortunately the restaurant had a flood which was obviously completely out of their control. Even in this situation they were very helpful and tried to find another restaurant locally to accommodate a group of 25 people, not easy. I hope to try the food at another time.
We actually did not dine there. I tried to cancel using the link on the confirmation email when our plans changed from my mobile phone but it did not seem to work no matter how many times I hit the cancel or amend button.
We were in our lunch break so in a hurry but the service was still very good even though we were rushing him. Food is always very good.
Appalling restaurant- thanks for ruining my birthday meal! We went there to have a Sunday afternoon meal with our son, his wife and two granddaughters. We were given a choice of seating, both next to LOUD, large children’s parties. We thought we chose the best of two evils however we clearly were in another universe. We sat, without a single waiter coming for a drinks order for 30 minutes. Then a different waiter than had seated us comes and asks if we’re ready to order meals. We said, no given we’ve not had drink orders taken yet. Waiter takes drinks orders and disappears for 15 minutes then walks up with someone else’s drinks, and gives one of them to my son. Sit another 10 minutes when first waiter comes back, we demand our drinks and another 5 minutes later they finally came. I must be Forrest Gump, or stupid at this point we should have walked out. Foolishly we order food hoping the drinks were not a reflection on the restaurant. What mugs we were, sit there for 20 more minutes when ONLY our granddaughters food comes. Wait another 15 minutes until other waiter comes by and demand our food which were told will be right out. Rubbish- almost 10 more minutes until it came. The food was NOT hot, just lukewarm but having been there almost 2 hours with 2 increasingly tired granddaughters we ask for their ice creams. Those surprisingly come quick. No waiter comes to clear plates and when first waiter does, he starts to walk away as one of our diners wasn’t finished. It as at this point I noticed other waiter now sitting at the bar with his anorak on like he’s about to leave. Never saw first waiter again, and at 2.5++ hours I had to go to the bar and ask the bartender for our bill. No one wanted to stay to have pudding as all were warn out and seething over the entire experience. £102 for horrible service, shoddy execution, no service, high noise level. Drove 30 minutes each way to feel very disappointed and frankly a bit ripped off. NEVER EVER GOING THERE AGAIN and I made sure to warn several folks in the car park how poorly we had been seen to warn them off. Rest assured I will be telling everyone I know in the area to avoid your establishment!
My experience.. Coffee was cold. Hot water never appeared. Incorrect salad. Lasagne oily. Water jug refill never appeared
Always consistently good food. Great family restaurant.
Food was great but they ignored our table for a bigger one to take the order despite us arriving first. Then when we wanted other things clearing up the same table took priority, very disappointing. When this was raised, the manger was indifferent verging on 'so what' & quite rude.
Very disappoinitng visit with very average food.
Very enjoyable evening, great food and service
Excellent service and good food
Disappointing visit. Waiter incompetent came back to table 3 times to check order as he hadnt written anything down. Was sat by a huge party of people so couldnt hear each other speak. The floor under the table had food on and was dirty.Food was not great despite reading good reviews. Terrible parking. Overall disapointing especially as i booked it for my friends birthday treat.
This was not value for money or service you would expect to pay for. We do enjoy the garlic bread and mozzarella but that's it. Our waiter (who told us it was his first job) was unbelievable. He had a surly manner and well: - asked what tea our daughter wanted - we said English Breakfast - she was given green tea. - when taking our order didn't know the special and had to have this pointed out to him on the menu. - only took my order and our daughter's and then was walking away and my fiancé had to stop him to place his order. - brought us our garlic bread starters and asked us if our daughter wanted her burger now (we have no idea why as we were just starting our starters) - he then dropped off as I think more experienced staff realised there was a problem. - that said, after we paid, our daughter and my fiancé who were still having their tea had to almost wrestle their still half full tea-pots out of the hands of another over keen server who came to clear everything off our table while we were still finishing. - my daughter and I both left our burgers - they were not nice (the turkey burger and the beef burger) All in we do not think any of this, the food or the service, justified the £75 charged - although we do admit the service provided some form of entertainment at least.
I have been going to Wildwood in Gerrards Cross regularly since it opened and I was very disappointed with my last visit. I ordered the mushroom and halloumi burger. There was a tiny slice of mushroom with no pesto mayo!!!! The chips had been re heated and were stuck together and were barely warm. My friend ordered the fish cakes which were soggy and swimming in a watery sauce. We both felt quite sick after we’d got home. I have not had a bad meal there till this one which was awful!!!!
Fantastic evening everything spot on my wife is half way through her Chemotherapy treatment so it was a lovely night many thanks to the Manger for going the extra mile
Great food, friendly and welcoming staff. The only complaint was the music which was too loud. However, as soon as I brought the matter up it was turned down to a more reasonable level. I would definitely recommend this venue for a birthday celebration meal as the staff are very enthusiastic and seem happy in their jobs.
The quality of food isn’t that great
