About George & Dragon
Here we cater for everyone with both a fun kids play area and a more adult dining area. The kids area consists of the Dragon’s Den soft play area and an outside play area for when the sun is shining. Outside we also have a large car park and plenty of space for a quiet adult drink as well.
Inside we offer great value deals and daily specials; all of our veg is locally sourced from the wonderful YourFresh in Leigh. You’ll not leave us hungry, we serve generous portions and even offer massive 17″ plates for those of you with a very healthy appetite!
To accompany our delicious food we also have a selection of hand-pulled cask ales and freshly ground coffee.
We can’t wait to meet you all,
The team at the George & Dragon
Thanks once again to all your staff under these strange circumstances you always deliver we have never been disappointed thank you
Thank you so much to Male waiter (sorry I forgot your name) you deserve a promotion mate! You made our visit so much better! Food was fab and the way it's organised is outstanding.
Meal was lovely staff very pleasant and helpful would recommend going
Fantastic food great service from the chsp echo had only just started 😁
Wonderful time at the George and dragon
This was our first eat out post-locldown. We were quite amazed with the venue and how well they maintain social distancing. Food was really good and the service was top class. We were also pleased that our dog could sit with us too.
The sunday lunches were amazing so nice and the staff were so friendly, made us feel really welcome, would definitely recommend and will definitely be back
The food came out cold ,we was cold so couldn't b bothered waiting any longer
Very welcoming service was great
Quite a few teething problems. 25 min wait on drinks, over an hour on food. No cutlery. Then we had to send food back as it was freezing. I’ve kept this private but some work is def needed. We love it here but it needs work
We had a great time. Food was excellent and staff were really friendly. We’ll be back!
Great service as usual
Was nice to get out first time in a long time staff very friendly polite and was always asking if you were ok would highly recommend lovely atmosphere to
Weather was shining, the kids were playing however waited over an hour for food, sat for 25 minutes waiting on drinks to come, I get it's harder times but least that could happen in warm weather was To be on top of drinks when it's table service. All staff outside servers were very friendly.
Excellent greeting & service by the team. Food good for the price paid. Wine a little expensive for a bottle of not on house wine. Atmosphere lower score because of smokers in outside dining area - surely they could be segregated away from non smokers in current circumstances where all have to dine outside or just ban smoking whilst dining altogether 👍
Great service and food will he back
We had an amazing evening. All the staff were so lovely, the safety was faultless and the food and drinks were fabulous. 10 out of 10.
Had to wait 1:45 for food, I believe it was the first night back open and they had a staffing issue. We were offered a free drink.
It’s a shame as we always visited here before lock down, but since opening again it’s gone down hill. I understand it’s going to be hard in these times and it was the first night opening so things aren’t going to run as smoothly, but it was hardly busy. We arrived at 5:15 and the lady on the desk inside the door was fab, she couldn’t do enough for us. The part that let it down was ordering food at half 5 and only getting to eat at 7 due to it taking so long, having two toddlers with us you can imagine how hungry they were. Also having to chase 2 rounds of drinks as they took 40 minutes to come out & missing multiple items from our order, as well as missing kids drinks even after asking where they were. It’s a shame as it’s always been great here, hopefully next time it will be smoother.
Very clean, helpful & professional
Lovely family meal
Staff were warm and friendly but the food was poor
Despite being in the middle of global pandemic and the George and Dragon being in tier 2 when we visited, there was blatant disregard for the Covid rules for tier 2. Groups of people who clearly didn’t live together sitting at tables together and drinking alcohol despite not eating meals. Drunken individuals staggering around the pub not wearing face masks. The tables were positioned too close together definitely contravening the social distancing guidance in place. We actually moved our table to try and be further away from the group of males sat next to us but we still felt our health was being compromised . This was our first visit to the George and Dragon for a while and we won’t be returning in a hurry.
Warm welcome by staff, all doing an amazing job in the circumstances. I will be back once you are out of tier 3
