Lovely food, nice French martini and friendly staff. Had a lovely evening and will be back x
Lovely food and great service
Had been here for lunch previously and liked the look of the place so booked for dinner. Service was very good.
Lovely visit - it just got so busy we couldnt actually hear each other at one point but will definitely be back. Thank you.
Lovely atmosphere for a catch up with friends. Food and sevice first class.
We booked as a large group (13 adults and 3 children) and we all had such a wonderful experience. Michael was great and very attentive. Nothing was a hassle for any of the staff. Great atmosphere and food was delicious! Thanks guys!
Have been here a lot of times but last night I had a family meal for 18. The Market Menu had something for everyone and the food was delicious (smoked haddock was a bit bony). Service was great and with a smile. Special mention to Anna who looked after us so well. Loved having the upstairs area to ourselves
Another most enjoyable experience at Garvies. Our service Nicole was excellent and already looking forward to our next visit.
Prompt service and excellent Chef's specials. A relaxed and inviting atmosphere. Have been here a few times now and will be happy to return.
This was our second visit to Garvie & Co. Unfortunately it wasn't as good as the first time. We were left unattended for a very long time. People who arrived after us got their food before us and no one came to offer us more drinks in almost an hour we sat waiting for our main courses. Probably won't be back again. Food quality wasn't as good as the first visit either.
Unfortunately for the first time we had to complain. Waited so long for food to arrive we had been seated for 1 hour 20 mins and only had been given our starters. When the main course arrived (Sunday Roast) we couldn’t eat it as it was too tough. The complaint was dealt with well by the manager but it was really disapointing as this was a night for my husbands birthday which was spoiled. The waitress who served us was exceptionally good.
Food and staff are very good unfortunately last night our starters were cold so had to send back however we were not charged for our drinks from the bar so thank you for that
Quite a nice meal from a good menu apart from desert (pavlova sundae) which was disappointing. It was served in a beer mug which was unsuitable and the lemon sorbet was missing.
I love the relaxed atmosphere and the warm friendly vibe. The food is always delicious and the staff are attentive without being intrusive, loved the fact my vegan friend was able to order from a specifically designed menu ( it made our dining experience so much easier) , wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this establishment ❤️
Would definitely be back again as it was a great night
Friendly efficient service and good, well presented food
As usual lovely food in a great environment, with good, friendly staff. Fish pakora utterly outstanding. Lost a star this time as the vegetable fajitas were, frankly, much too hot and spicy. Both of us like spicy food but neither of us could finish this dish. When we mentioned to the waiter we were told "depends on the chef".......
Staff happy to help with my dietary requirements and answer my questions. Steak was slightly overcooked but tasted good. Venison was nice too. Food was well presented. Vegan sticky toffee pudding was a little disappointing (sauce was very thin and tasted a little burnt) but it was nice to actually have a choice!
The dishes with prawns in them only had 3 or 4 prawns which was disappointing. Apart from that we enjoyed our visit and the forbearance of the serving staff.
Enjoyed our dinner very much. Good food and good service. Would like to see lamb on the menu and the drinks are quite expensive but apart from that, all good. One strange thing was our wine was served in a cooler yet there was ice in it as if it was an ice bucket!
service was very slow and did speak to the manager. The waiting staff worked hard and were helpful and doing their best but obviously not enough staff. We did receive coffee and sweet complimentary due to poor service so did try to make up for delay. Food was good but portion size of mac and cheese small and chocolate sundae not value for money. May return to see if service has improved.
Service a wee bit slower than usual, but staff were lovely, very friendly and attentive. Food amazing as always, fantastic quality and value. The best in the area by a long shot!
I returned here with my parents for lunch after enjoying our first visit the previous weekend. We weren't disappointed. I booked via garvie website, and got space for my pram. I had also requested a quieter area to sit as my mum has Alzheimer's. We were treated so well, and my mum was very comfortable. Thankyou again for a lovely experience.
Great friendly service, we will definitely be back.
Choice, quality and price of food and wine is very good. Price of drinks outwith the wine list is very high. This specific poor value would make me think again about returning. Service was outstanding.
