Incredible service, always a joy to visit and the food never disappoints. Beautiful ambience in timeless settings that I recommend highly. Thank you again for a very enjoyable evening of food, friendship and relaxation.
Lovely relaxed atmosphere.
Lovely meal and excellent service. Only quibble was that the restaurant was a bit cold.
We throughly enjoyed our afternoon.
Beautiful meal, lovely surroundings very friendly and helpful staff.
Beautiful hotel, room was fine. Only slight issue was chicken main course was a little overcooked and dry. Otherwise perfect. Will be stopping again, hopefuuly with nicer weathet as it rsined heavily just when we were going to exlpore the grounds.
We had such a lovely afternoon and were very grateful for the staff accommodating our young boys, who loved the experience. Beautiful venue and surroundings to also enjoy
Your restaurant staff need a far greater attention to detail and training.
We had the most amazing time. Afternoon tea was delicious, our overnight stay was superb, atmosphere was amazing and breakfast was delicious. I turn 40 in April so I’m hoping my husband will book us in again 😊
Excellent service in a very comfortable environment.
I had booked the meal bed and breakfast but was only given the a la cart menu so it ended up costing me extra for food as non of the food there was in with the deal. I was told on the last night of our stay that there was a different menu that we could have ordered off and it wouldn't of cost me anything extra but unfortunately it was to late. The food and service was excellent though.
Thank you for all you did to make my mum's birthday special
We all found it very relaxing. The service was excellent.
We had the Knights afternoon tea,was delicious, nice to have the choice of a more savoury afternoon tea as personally I don’t have a sweet tooth so am not keen on a normal afternoon tea.
The food looked very nice but was disappointing in taste. Scones had no flavor and crumbly, the cucumber sandwich was slimy plus the frangipane type tart was possibley supposed to be warm and was not and this made it taste stale. The tea and coffee was good. Not Coombe Abby's fault but it was quite an empty room only 3/4 other tables so the atmosphere was very quiet although music was played which we liked. The staff was friendly and polite but I did not want to sit and watch one of them cleaning the counters bar and cupboards.
Thank you so much for making my dads birthday so special. The little touches like writing ‘happy birthday’ on the plate and putting a candle in his cake meant so much. Both he and my mum had a wonderful time.
Absolutely brilliant, definitely come again service was a bit slow but part from that would recommend it to anyone and hope to come again very soon
Nice setting. Lovely sandwiches with the tea but got a few sandwiches wrong....wanted some without ham, just the pickle & cheese...ended up just with just cheese! Asked for some more tea....none came had to ask again. Staff were lovely but looked rushed off their feet....never were we asked if everything was ok at our table. Cakes & scones nice but nothing special or different so felt it was a tad pricy for what we had. Great box to take left overs home in. Woud like to visit again but not on a day when there is a wedding fair on...hotel felt way too busy!
Excellent gluten free option.
We visited for Afternoon Tea, we picked the Knights Tea which was absolutely delicious I loved every part of it, I have been before and had the normal Afternoon Tea and found the Savoury version to be so much better. I love the atmosphere such a lovely room, however I didn’t find the service as good this time, previous times when I have been the staff have been very attentive but this time we were rarely checked on, we kept having to call the waitress over for drink top ups and had to ask a couple of times for a box to take cakes home, the waitress also seemed to look very startled anytime we asked her a question. Despite the lack of service this time I would definitely be back.
Quite disappointed with the food. The set menu was poor. The upgraded menu was better. Felt some of the staff were very awkward.
Quality food on our second visit
Brilliant atmosphere and staff couldn't do enough for you
Lovely setting and ambience but really didn’t feel that the afternoon tea was good value for money. Disappointed to see paper napkins and whipped cream not clotted cream. The savoury afternoon tea did not contain the food that was described on the menu i.e there wasn’t a mince pie or cranberry cheesecake as stated.
I brought this as a special treat for my mum and we both absolutely loved it. The setting, atmosphere and service were all excellent. We’ll definitely come again!. Thank you so much to all the staff 🤩
