Fabulous afternoon tea.
Absolutely amazing. We stayed at Coombe Abbey and had a meal in the restaurant - superb. We are booking again for next month. Thank you for making our stay so magical.
Overall a lovely afternoon.
Took my friend to mark her birthday and we booked a sitting at 12:30 as I knew there would be sufficient to double as a lunch. We were not disappointed; there was loads and we were told we could ask for more sandwiches if we wished. Setting was lovely; food was delicious and service was friendly and efficient. Especially liked that they gave us a very sweet little box to take home the cakes we could not manage to eat. Great value for money. will definitely go again.
First time visiting Coombe Abby the best way I can explain it is to say I would go again without a shadow of doubt, the service, food, rooms were without doubt of the highest standards and I have already recommended to others and will continue too, the attention to detail is unrivalled, amazing experience, many thanks Kevin Daunt
Amazing food, fantastic staff and a beautiful setting, couldn't ask for more, will definitely return and highly reccomend as a wonderful dining experience
Really good table service
Thoroughly enjoyed afternoon tea
Sparkling afternoon tea to celebrate Mum's 80th birthday after a lovely walk through the bluebell woods. Coombe Abbey hotel was the perfect location. Food was delicious, staff very friendly and helpful and the garden room is lovely. The scones were the best I have ever tasted!
Amazing place and the food was super yummy, loved the white box to take what we couldn't eat home.
My coffee didn’t arrive, I had to ask for it a second time. We were not asked if we wanted more drinks for over an hour and no-one asked if everything was ok. I felt that it was a little like a conveyer belt of guests coming and going for afternoon tea and the staff couldn’t cope. I noticed that there were three weddings on so I guess the staff were stretched. The venue was lovely but it was spoilt by the poor service which was certainly not attentive and we didn’t feel valued or special.
great food, great and helpful staff, lovely place, couldn't wish for more'
Great afternoon tea and very friendly staff.
Food was of good quality and was perfectly cooked. However the service was extremely poor which made the overall experience not particularly good value for money. Could not recommend as a result
Food was excellent, steak cooked to perfection. Service was very good. Only down side was the alcohol/soft drink prices were very high. 4 x 250ml glasses of rose wine £36.
We had booked afternoon tea for my mums 50th Birthday. We arrived and was shown to our seats. The table had been set for 4 people rather than 5. We were given our menus with no explanation or guidance of how the experience worked, or what choices were to be made for the afternoon tea. When the food arrived it was lovely and compliments to the kitchen. Despite this, we had to guess the sandwiches and what the deserts were. During our afternoon experience we couldn’t relax as several staff members came to the table to ask us for more food and whether everything was ok. Although this was considerate, it felt continuous. Then towards the end of the afternoon tea when we had declined more food, the table had been cleared in no time and my sister had not even finished her cup of tea. It felt very rushed and like we could only be in there for a set amount of time, which was not long at all. Overall a very disappointing experience for such a special occasion.
We have now attended for afternoon tea on five occasions and we are ver6 pleased to say that everything is still great quality and the service is excellent
Great experience. Meet and greet was lovely We had a great table and staff was friendly and attentive. The food was plentiful and delicious. So many choices of tea and coffee Highly recommended. We asked about the history of the abbey and were offered a fact sheet which was very informative. A great day out at the hotel and park
Another fantastic Afternoon Tea at Coombe Abbey..excellent service, lovely atmosphere, great choice and quality of food and drink..looking forward to visiting again soon.
Coombe Abbey is lovely place to visit, the garden room restaurant was really nice with a lovely atmosphere. I would recommend it without a second s thought. The grounds are stunning too.
Lovely surroundings, friendly staff, but I do think they need to think a bit before bringing things to you as kept bringing wrong items to us and having to take them back, 3 times it happened to us over the weekend stay, 1 with our desert, and breakfast time kept messing up, also we were put under a fan which became drafty so moved us and 2 windows open and was cold as started to rain and become windy outside, asked if they could be closed but only 1 was closed so a bit cold while havei g the evening meal, but food was great
The food was delicious, the staff were amazing, a wonderful afternoon for my friend who is recovering from a recent operation. The attention to detail was outstanding and the manager and staff were excellent. Highly recommend a visit.
Had a lovely afternoon. It was my birthday and my daughter had arranged for me to receive flowers whilst at coombe. The staff were lovely and made me feel ready special.
The service at times can be slow.
Amazing loved every minute
