Fantastic place , excellent food and lovely staff thank you
Fab as always
The fact that this is my 5th visit for afternoon tea at Coombe Abbey speaks for itself. Lovely staff, cosy atmosphere and tasty food. Would definitely recommend.
I had requested a birthday note to be on the table for my friends 40th but there was no note.
Excellent ! Keep up the good work.
Another superb evening at Coombe Abbey. Looking forward to our next visit in the New Year. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all of the staff and management.
Setting & Service were excellent. Very much enjoyed Festive Menu Option. Special to receive birthday surprise. 2 minor points hindering a 5 star rating - the sandwiches & scones were lovely. Maybe mistaken yet the cakes didn't look like or taste like they'd been freshly baked on the premises? Got stuck in car park with pay machine & help button not working in drizzle:( Not the best finale to an enjoyable afternoon tea:(
Tammy the lady that served my friends and I was exceptional in her customer service-very friendly and accommodating-well done Tammy! :-)
Very enjoyable. Nice location and good service. The food was also good. Our only concern was that the scones were really dry. We had sufficient other nice food however so this was not a major issue.
We got ignored by your waitresses and waitors.. we sat and waited 15 minutes for a pot of tea to arrive....the cake stand arrived before, so we had to ask for a pot of tea and the champagne we ordered. We would have liked extra sandwiches, however we couldn't get anyones attention. When we finished, we decided to have a gin in the reception area....they only have pint glasses to serve a gin in? all of the empty tables had empty glasses...considering the amount of staff you had on, you couldn't tell!
Fabulous cakes, coffee and tea (good range of both to choose from)company, surroundings elegantly sophisticated, great service attentive without being intrusive, a delightful experience to share with a special someone
A friendly smile goes along way and there was plenty of those.
The staff were very friendly and welcoming and helped out when I needed to make a special request. The setting is lovely and the added bonus of a lovely walk too.
This is a great hotel with lovely bedrooms and good food. Unfortunately the queues are frustrating for breakfast and to check in and check out.
Had a fabulous afternoon tea on 1/12/18 for my mums 70th birthday surprise, you looked after our party fantastically. We had a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon. Would definitely recommend afternoon tea to anyone looking for a lovely treat.
Great service and great range of food on the afternoon tea. We all enjoyed it and would definitely return
Ordered the prosecco afternoon tea, had to chase the waitress for the prosecco as she had forgotten. Disappointed with the amount of money paid to not have China cups, we had a small mugs but not China.
Thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon tea.
Amazing service beautiful place and I will be coming again for sure
The food was amazing and the service provided by your staff was great. They were friendly and helpful - always making sure we had everything we needed without being intrusive. The decorations for Christmas were beautiful. This was a gift from my son and we both had a fantastic time. Thank You.
We were there for the Afternoon tea and the Diner. My Fiancé and I don't eat meat. I book the 3 course dinner with my hotel room. The actual 3 course menu offered good choices and we didn't had to go through the "normal" menu (where we could have picked up some dishes to replace the ones offered, sometimes for few extra pounds). The dishes were amazing, but the deserts were extraordinary! I am french and I often find Patisserie in England too sweet and not sophisticated enough. We went for the Praline Matcha Diplomat Cake and the Black Fig & Almond Tart... OMG for a couple pounds more than a Sticky Toffe pudding in any random pub you'll have an incredible desert! The afternoon tea was fair but in comparaison to the evening meal it was poor... there was a very good selection of tea, the cakes ok, but below average sandwiches with very thick piece of bread, crust on and sometimes barely any filling inside... Come for dinner and you'll test buds will thank you!!!
The server went out of her way to make us welcome. When she heard it was one of the party’s birthday, she brought her a card and a cake.
Excellent friendly service. 2nd visit to Coombe Abbey for Annivesary celebrations will return again!
Afternoon tea was lovely food was delicious really enjoyed it. Only downside was the service could have been abit better didn't feel like we were attended to as good as was expected.
When we were sat we weren’t attended to for over 20 minutes. When we eventually asked why the waitress said it’s because as we weren’t given menus, the empty table is a prompt for the staff that we have been attended to. Felt very strange. Seems like there’s not enough service for how busy the afternoon tea is.
