Really lovely afternoon tea. Un-rushed, gorgeous fresh food and beautiful surroundings. Heartily recommended.
Fabulous customer service. Lovely food.
Really great food and good value. Staff were all very friendly but no one came up to us during the meal to see if we were ok or offered us anymore drinks. Also we were seated so close to a loud large group we could hardly hear each other speak.
A lovely place for that something special treat however was let down by the fact I had tried calling ahead of my booking and unable to speak with a staff member for a special request
It’s lovely to be able to go to afternoon tea and enjoy it as I have a nut allergy And I don’t eat loads of cakes because of my allergy but the cakes were lovey and I felt very comfortable with eating them .
Could be more cleaner in the restaurant.
Friendly staff, great service and top quality food.
Because of the virus numbers were limited and that took away from the atmosphere a bit, also our table was entirely on its own. The food was first class as always even though it was plated up for us. The service was very attentive and as always good value for money.
The room look tired and need of a revamp
Have stayed here twice in 12 months... the suites are lovely and spacious, love the place and staff are fantastic. The chef for dinner is simply not good enough though, chicken last year was pink and the steak I ordered this year was almost blue, I ordered medium rare, really let’s it down, pay a lot of money to stay here but this isn’t good enough.
After having Mother’s Day cancelled, we re booked for Sunday lunch. I was a bit disappointed with the attention to detail on the food. A couple of starters came out wrong, 2 of the mains had things missing like potatoes and then 2 of the coffee cups had thick lipstick marks that didn’t even look like they had been washed which with everything going on is particularly worrying.
We waited nearly 40 minutes for our afternoon tea. When it was bought to our table the waitress didn't even give us an introduction of what was on the stand. We were never asked if we'd like further drinks and only had the tea we was originally served. When wanting to pay and leave we struggled to flag someone down to pay our bill. I understand with the current situation that service may be more distant and not 100% but the service was non existent. I would not return here.
We had booked a Spa package stay, which included a 3 course meal. The selection of what was included was really great and a few things caught our eye. We had the sharing tapas, which was fine, but not traditional tapas really. However, we quite enjoyed it! Our mains were quite disappointing (burger and chicken kiev) The garlic butter in the kiev was watery and not very flavoursome at all. And the burger was so overcooked that it wasn't pleasant to eat. We did not make a fuss over either thing because virtually every other table had complained about their food in some way and I actually felt guilty to have to complain also. Dessert was nice as we had the carrot cake and you can't go too wrong with that. Breakfast was a shambles! No clean table for us, so we had to sit in the bar, which isn't the end of the world. However, it meant that we were a bit out of the way and forgotten about. We were given cold toast with no butter or plates, so we had to ask for this. It wasn't an enjoyable breakfast and that's a shame. The service at breakfast was atrocious actually and needs some serious work. The dinner staff were the complete opposite though and very attentive and friendly. Luckily the rest of our stay was very good because the food is not something that we would return for, sorry.
A very enjoyable and filling afternoon tea taken in pleasant surroundings served by polite helpful staff.
I had the lovely quiet afternoon I wanted for my birthday. Gardens were lovely to look at . Whether was lovely too.
Food was terrible, no atmosphere although that could have been because we were early.
We had to wait quite a while for a waitress to appear to ask for more tea and clean plates as we had melted cheese on ours. Its not as though it was busy. Just us and 2 or 3 other tables. They were preparing for a wedding in the private dining area and we felt like we were treated as less priority. We finished and waited so long we got up to leave. The waitress only then appeared. We were sat at our table for a while before we even got served tea. Service was poor. Tables were old and sticky. It did not feel like the special occasion it should have for my birthday. And it's not exactly cheap!!! I would expect this from a cheaper venue. Not at all impressed. Advertised with 'attentive staff' amongst other false claims.
Good birthday treat, thanks
The only slight criticism was the champagne was not cold, but I think that's no problem.
Very pleasant afternoon
I had high expectations for this afternoon tea: I’ve previously dined in the restaurant however this was a takeaway tea. Firstly, when I booked I was not given the option to dine in but there were people in the restaurant enjoying afternoon tea when we collected ours. The presentation was poor. Even though the cake boxes were held still all the way home the cakes were a mushed mess when we opened them which did spoil the experience. The taste was however lovely. I have had a few afternoon teas delivered during the pandemic and each one was presented perfectly and cheaper than Orsett Hall’s with a better selection.
Nice experience all round enjoyable afternoon
We went for afternoon tea for my daughter's birthday and she was very pleased. We loved the old English decor and the excellent service Will definitely be back for more , maybe for cocktails and dinner etc etc! Was surprised to see a sanctuary so near London
Afternoon tea given as a birthday present Very enjoyable experience Would recommend and also visit orsett hall in the future
Amazing service from staff, and the food was delicious. Loved it
