About Gandolfi Fish
Seumas had often dreamt of opening a fish restaurant and in June 2007 that was exactly what he did. The doors of Gandolfi Fish opened to a warm welcome from Glasgow's foodies who were eager to taste the delights from this sleek new arrival to the Merchant City. Gandolfi Fish features as one of Ron Mackenna's top 25 Scottish restaurants (The Herald) and has once again made the grade and been Hitlisted by The List. Smart and comfortable, Gandolfi Fish will suit anyone who enjoys the fruits of the sea.
Lovely lunch- salt and paper squid was absolutely delicious- best outside Spain!!
The evening was fantastic. The food was delicious and the staff were great. Every dish was cooked to perfection and the cocktails to finish were a lovely end to a delicious dinner.
We sent back the curry as it was tasteless. The langoustine were fresh but the garlic butter under seasoned. The kitchen did make us mussels instead of a retry of the curry, They were fine. The oysters were fresh but very very small. We eat in great fish restaurants regularly- I won’t be hurrying back.
The food was fantastic would definitely recommend.
First impression was that the restaurant was a bit grubby & tired. A Sunday night but virtually empty - not a good sign! Very limited fish choices for a fish restaurant, nothing particularly original or exciting. Pan fried fish, fried potatoes and some quite well cooked greens - good but did not excite!! Expensive for what it was (or was not). Friendly service though! Lots of choice in Glasgow but would not recommend this one.
The food at Gandolfi was delicious and the service was excellent. Would definitely go back.
Can't wait to go back!
Not impressed with the halibut dish. Samphire inedible due to stalkiness. Fish nice. Potatoes ok. £22? Nah.
Had an Itison voucher. Choice available was from 3 but no complaints about that because I always have the fish of the day. Seabream this time for both of us. Choice of 2 sauces and both were enjoyed. Never caught his name but waiter has to be commended for the service provided. Quietly efficient and friendly.
Lovely meal, excellent staff.
Met with three friends for lunch which we all thoroughly enjoyed.
Monday night so quiet & lacking atmosphere. Food was an utilising deal & okay.
Excellent quality, fabulous service and great value for money.
We recently had a late lunch with friends for their Ruby Wedding Anniversary. The high commitment to an excellent level customer service and a very personal touch - not too mention the delicious food - made this special occasion all the more special for the four of us. Many thanks to Calum and the team for such a lovely lunch. We'll be back!
As always the service was fun and efficient, food was exactly what we have come to expect - fresh seafood prepared really well!
Beautifully cooked fish and very friendly and efficient service.
Food lovely and staff friendly and helpful.
As I said before my wife and I feel that the fish is superb which we eat a lot of. Other places in the city do a lot of fish but we feel that the quality and freshness is somewhat lacking. We had the salmon on our last visit and it was cooked to perfection, which is never easy.
We all agreed this was the most delicious food we'd had in ages. Cooked to perfection. Only sad that we were too full to order dessert. We'll definitely be back soon.
Everything was excellent - didn’t like my fish, but that could have been me. Our server was lovely.
Seabass was delightful, wine delicious and dessert scrummy, waitress was lovely, restaurant was very quiet so we cant really score highly on the atmosphere although we felt very comfortable with no rush to vacate the table.
Good food, service polite but not friendly. Sterile atmosphere.
Limited drinks Menu Staff unaware of availability of drinks to help. Second member of staff who served once seated and was far more welcoming and helpful
Very enjoyable experience with beautifully cooked fish and sides . Good value on Itison deal. Pleased to find quite busy and therefore buzzy for 6.30 on a midweek night. Excellent service. Would go back.
I HAD THE WORST FISH PIE I HAVE EVER HAD HOW A FISH RESTAURANT CAN SERVE UP SUCH RUBBISH FISH PIE.
