Overall was a great choice for, have been to katherine various times but have not tried Galloping Jack. Two staff members rostered on and both provided great customer service and did an excellent job with keeping up with the customers, especially the chinese girl (sorry, didn't get her name) as it was her first day at work, clearly she was still learning but done so with a great smile. Was going to return the next night, but unfortunately it was buffett night which wasn't for me. Will definitely go there again next time in Katherine.
Bernie is fabulous, she has wonderful knowledge and has just the right amount of cheekiness needed for this type of work.
Good location, good for our Christmas work function but just took 1hr+ for the meals to come out. The kids were hungry and ready for bed. Schnity and pasta was good but the grilled barra was too dry.
Was a lovely dining experience, will definitely come back
Convenient for guests staying at hotel.
The food was quite good but not a lot of training re the wines.
Food and service is some of the best in Katherine. The decor seemed more like a cafeteria than a restaurant. At one point a waitress turned the TV on (with sound) which was right behind us but when we asked for the sound to be turned off, it was promptly fixed. Thanks for a night of yummy food :)
restaurant did NOT receive our booking, staff were unpleasant and NEVER available. Food was almost inedible. Most of the wines on the wines list were unavailable. The best dish on the buffet was the orange jelly - no joke.
I booked on line, restaurant had no knowledge of our booking. The outdoor tables and chairs are not a classy look. The staff seemed to be run off its feet but there wasn't many people. The restaurant opens at 6:30pm but most people were well on there way to finishing the dinner on our arrival 6:40pm. The food was OK but $39 each very expensive, but it was mothers day - not that you could tell, nothing special for the mums.
