Good food offering good value, certainly recommend
4 Friends dined here on Friday last week, Didn't quite catch the name of our server but what a lovely girl, I had booked online to find out that I thought we had booked the spring menu with a bottle of prosecco only to find out that I was 2 years out of date! They honoured a bottle of prosecco which I thought was such a lovely gesture, thank you for a lovely night for a catch up with Friends.
Booked for an early dinner, so had the place to ourselves. Staff polite, friendly, and helpful. Meal lovely, with a good portion and quality ingredients. Would have no hesitation to recommend, and will definitely go back.
My friends and I thoroughly enjoyed our lunch on Tuesday, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We will be back.
This was my first visit to the Gailes. It was for mothers day afternoon tea. The restaurant was busy - always a good sign. Staff were pleasant, helpful and quick to re-fill teas and coffees. The afternoon tea itself was mediocre. The sandwiches were dry. The bread slightly stale like they had been pre made too long before serving. Inner fillings however were fine and a well rounded choice. Scones had the same problem as the bread. Very very dry and hard around the edges from being out in the air for presumably too long. The Haggis bon bons were lovely as were the small chocolate sponges. The bottom layer cakes had damp droplets of water all over them. An indication that the pastries/cakes had been frozen and left to thaw out before serving. Much like the cakes you can buy at Iceland. Price wise £25 for two is very reasonable, I have however been to other places and paid the same to not much more for all fresh items. I wouldn't rush back to the Gailes for the afternoon tea. I would return to the restaurant for a meal if I heard enough praise.
Very good service and good value on the two for 19 menu. Amy very good service. Enjoyed it.
Service, food and value for money was absolutely first class. The only niggle was that our table was on the left hand side more like a bar area than the restaurant which impacted on ambience a little. However I would definitely return
I loved everything about this place.Great staff, food, service and atmosphere excellent 👌.
I took my friend to The Gailes for afternoon tea for her 60 th birthday. We had a lovely selection of food I was very pleased as I am wheat intolerant and my choice was great. Both meals were beautifully displayed and the service was excellent . I can highly recommend it. Thank you
Very good value . Lovely staff. Very enjoyable and comfortable hotel.
Lovely lunch, beautifully prepared and presented. Well looked after by the waiting staff.
Had a lovely meal at gailes hotel, great service and would reccomend to friends
The food was excellent and service was really good. The 2 courses for two people really good value for money will definitely be returning.
The food was delicious and the service couldn’t have been any better!
All round excellent .. can't wait to get married here :)
Very friendly and relaxed atmosphere.
Lovely meal, nice staff in a relaxed environment. Great deal - £33 bill for 2 for dinner and drinks.
Haven't been disappointed yet at the Gailes. Staff friendly and efficient and good food at a reasonable price
Great value and nice atmosphere and service.
Service was extremely slow - Main Course was fine needed ask 3 times regarding the drinks and has to eventually go to the bar for my coffee.
Beautiful tasty food, which was extremely good value due to £19 offer. All waitresses were helpful, and friendly. Only slight niggle was lighting and direct overhead lighting felt very bright.
Staff could not have more pleasant, definitely be back.
lovely food great service and vaule for money
Ate from vegan menu, soup , melon , pasta and chocolate cake all fabulous , risotto was a bit bland and I wouldn’t order it again. Staff were helpful and service spot on. Nice atmosphere
