About French Connection Bistro
Welcome to the French Connection Bistro.
Established in 1986, The French Connection is a traditional, French café bistro. We serve individually prepared, fresh, French-style dishes, using high quality ingredients. This intimate, classic café bistro offers vibrant breakfast, lunch dining and transforms into a romantic, boutique, restaurant for full à la carte evening dining. Our menus change regularly to reflect the seasonal availability of produce and for a special experience we offer occasional themed evenings, focussing on regional dishes from all corners of France. Our head chef has over 24 years’ experience here in our own kitchen and will cook each dish with attention to detail in accordance with the highest traditions of French Cuisine.
Unlike most traditional French restaurants, we offer an excellent selection in vegetarian dishes and can cater for all dietary requirements. In complete harmony with our French counterparts we offer a great flexibility in child portions, to enable families to eat together.
It was lovely to see the place so busy with happy eaters when we arrived for our lunchtime meal. There was a considerable wait for our order to be served but that simply gave us time to soak up the atmosphere and catch up on gossip! The waitresses (should I call them 'waiters' in these pc times?) were very friendly and efficient. So, a thoroughly enjoyable visit and the food was excellent. We will be back soon to sample the evening menu.
Love the new contemporary look. Our food was lovely although a little pricey. It would be good if you could maybe offer choices on your set menus. The soup was gorgeous! We will be back although probably for a special occasion as it’s so expensive.,
Excellent food at reasonable prices, friendly and attentive service.
Lovey food and environment - amazing french bread
Great food. Great bistro. très bien merci
A very enjoyable evening on a table with plenty of room. Thank you
Food was beautifully presented, well cooked and very flavoursome. Service was friendly and professional. Atmosphere was perfect. But, the portion sizes (especially the cod) were so small we just felt a bit disappointed for the price charged.
I’d give 6 stars for the front of house were it possible.
Great food - not cheap but well worth it for the quality of cooking.
Celebrated birthday here. Lovely evening. Very helpful staff and we would highly recommend the fillet steak!!
The owner welcomed us warmly but the waitress needs some more training or confidence to make us feel looked after and valued as a customer. She had a similar attitude as the Parisian French rather cold!
A wonderful evening, thank you!
we had a lovely time celebrating having beat cancer...lovely atmosphere and service . will definately be back we loved it . many thanks
We enjoyed our meal very much very good food
Met a friend for lunch. We both had the lunch board, which includes a sandwich, soup and fries. The food was very tasty and arrived quickly. Friendly staff and service.
Delicious celebration breakfast at French Connection on Saturday. Lovely way to start my birthday.
Thoroughly enjoyed our evening meal recently. Excellent, reasonably priced food, staff were friendly and helpful and there was a good atmosphere. Also really appreciated being able to bring our dog along, thank you. We'll be back!
Excellent food and service.
We had a fantastic evening. The food was excellent and the service was great. Staff are friendly and attentive.
Delicious as always!
Warm welcome and great attentive service throughout, knowledgeable staff who could make recommendations. Great atmosphere and the food was superb. Steaks cooked to perfection and in fact each course was delicious. Love the refit!
Nice restaurant with good variety of menu items.
First time here since Chris and Colette left. Was fixing to not like it, BUT loved it. I like the paired back interior, it did feel French bistro, and loved that they have created a new bar area. Would definitely call in for a drink and a bite in this area. The menu was paired down also, but was well thought out and different to the usual “trendy” menu’s that you see everywhere. The food was fresh, well cooked and well presented. I had the fillet steak in a cherry and port sauce. It was the best steak I had for quite a while, and was medium rare to perfection. Nice small wine list, chose a great bottle of St Emillion. Two staff in the dining room were excellent. Attentive and very chatty, knew what they were doing and the food arrived bang on time. Liked it so much I booked a table for five this Saturday. Without doubt the best place to eat in Stourbridge.
