About French Connection Bistro
Welcome to the French Connection Bistro.
Established in 1986, The French Connection is a traditional, French café bistro. We serve individually prepared, fresh, French-style dishes, using high quality ingredients. This intimate, classic café bistro offers vibrant breakfast, lunch dining and transforms into a romantic, boutique, restaurant for full à la carte evening dining. Our menus change regularly to reflect the seasonal availability of produce and for a special experience we offer occasional themed evenings, focussing on regional dishes from all corners of France.
Unlike most traditional French restaurants, we offer an excellent selection in vegetarian dishes and can cater for all dietary requirements. In complete harmony with our French counterparts we offer a great flexibility in child portions, to enable families to eat together.
We have not eaten here for some time after being very disappointed on a previous visit, how it has changed. The menu is lively and interesting, the food was delicious and the service exceptional. Despite a lull in the town caused by the 'virus' the atmosphere was buzzing inside and we had a very pleasant evening. Well done Chef Ben and team, a real step forwards for Stourbridge.
Lovely food and atmosphere! Looking forward to coming back soon.
I would have liked a draught Ale or beer in the bar area before the meal, but if demand isn't there then I understand. I liked the new layout and openess of the bar area. A great night, and would recommend. Great service from friendly staff.
Great staff, comfortable surrounding, cracking and consistently good food
Seating being more comfortable would really elevate the experience. We’ll be returning and have already recommended. Thanks
So lovely and just how I remember it, if your an escape to the chateau fan this gorgeous little restaurant is well worth a visit.
Food up to your usual standard, but 3* food rating because of very limited mains choice, if you don't eat beef, as 3 out of 5 dishes were either steak or beef-based - one would be okay. Lacking in imagination and variety. Maybe it was a bad ingredients day? Would help to have a fish or chicken option at least. Regards Pete
What an absolutely fantastic evening! Had promised to take my partner to this restaurant for too long, and due to commitments for Valentines day night, we bought our 'celebration' forward. We were welcomed on arrival by one of the staff, who was extremely polite, showing us to our table. The young waitress who served us for the rest of the evening was attentive without being intrusive, and the food........Words escape me. Would definitely recommend everything we had: Starter platter to share Salad with pear and blue cheese dressing Pressed pork belly - the sauce was divine Fish of the day (Pollock, changes upon availability) and followed by Pavlova All exquisite, and finally left the restaurant feeling pleasantly full. Thanks for a lovely evening, we WILL be coming back
We'd never been to the French Connection before and all enjoyed it. I'd certainly expect to be back before long.
Fabulous lunch , beautifully served , in my opinion the best restaurant in Stourbridge.
We found the menu a little limited for our taste. Service was very good but restaurant was very quiet on this particular night so not much of an atmosphere. We enjoyed all of the food we were served. Have been once before on a themed night and found that more enjoyable.
Great service and the host was amazing
Burn's Night= Lacked atmosphere. We had the right food choices and bagpipes playing on the PA system but that's where it all ended. The food was filling and hearty but didn't justify the price. It would have been better value for money if there had been entertainment included.
Waiter was excellent
Second time eating here in a couple of months. Food seems consistent,. Atmosphere good, staff attentive. Happy to be supporting local business. Would recommend giving a go.
Great food and intimate surroundings. Lovely friendly staff who understand the menu too.
Lovely evening, great food especially the steak - best I've had for years! Room slightly cool, very cold outside. Menu - not as much choice as before Christmas, would like to see a little more choice on a la carte menu. Will be back.
We were looking for a last minute quiet meal on a Saturday night, so glad we chose French Connection. Ben and the staff made us feel so welcome. The menu although not large had something for everyone the food was fresh seasonal great quality and cooked to perfection. We had Pork, beef and Steak for mains and a selection of deserts. A really nice touch was Ben visiting each table and discussing the Bistros ethos, as the menu has new items added as produce comes into season we Shane returning very soon.
Excellent as usual!
Lovely atmosphere and fantastic food.
Great evening. Many thanks.
Limited menu, not much choice. Pricing structure is devisive suggesting reasonably priced meals but which you find need to be propped up with side orders that make it an expensive night out. Quality of food is very good. Atmosphere is poor due to only 6 diners in. After 30 years of patronage we will not be rushing back
Hi Might be worth upgrading the ladies toilet, it was a bit cold and loo didn't flush too good Food and drink fabx
Fantastic. Birthday breakfast for my daughter. Food, drinks and service were all brilliant.
Great food, great staff, fab atmosphere. Will be back :)
