We are a seasonal British restaurant focusing on fresh produce with an onus on nose to tail dining. All dish ingredients are made in our kitchen from baking bread daily, to making crackers for our British cheese plate. We change our menu each day in accordance to what has come in fresh from the market and our butcher.
We happily cater for vegan and vegetarian guests. Large parties are welcome and we often accommodate wedding parties and other special occasions.
Best pub and best staff x
Terrific all around.
Starter (prawns): bang-on Main course (Partridge): delicious Desert (Quince sponge): superb
Great food, excellent service and atmosphere.
Really enjoyed our evening, good tasty food and drinks. So good to be out in a really nice restaurant.
Disappointing. Temperature quite chilly. Intervals between courses to long although service was quit e attentive. Partridge very undercooked and cabbage appeared in a pool of brown murk. Pudding excellent. Overall experience 6/10
Great food, good service.
The set lunch menu was just perfect for us and it was so exciting to be in such a lovely restaurant again. Very good food.
Great food and wines as usual and superb service, perfectly judged. What are the downsides given this is one of the best restaurants in SE London? It is a bit cramped and the basement needs a complete refresh. The partridge was dry - wrong recipe - needs to be pot roasted or fresh roasted with fat. This was pre-cooked unlike the way partridge used to be served here. That was disappointing. Otherwise superb - standouts include the belly pork, the leeks and the steamed quince pudding, also the dessert wine choice. Recommended.
Excellent service and food even in these difficult times. We cannot wait to come back again.
As always, very enjoyable lunch
Lovely food, attentive service. Wasn't too busy as was Monday lunchtime, so there was plenty of space and felt very safe. Covid measures were obviously being observed.
Whatever you eat will be delicious and don't leave the premises without eating the bread and butter pudding.
Such a wonderful dinner, as always x
Lovely food as always as well as fantastic service. Great spot. We had the lunch menu and it was delicious
I had a wonderful time in here. Staff are welcoming and helpful. i forgot to bring a mask during my visit and they handed me one from their supplies. Hope they'll open after the 4-week lockdown as I want to go back here.
Staff were very friendly
We have been enjoying Franklin's for many years -- it never lets us down.
The staff at Franklin's never fail to accommodate. I had lunch with two very particular diners and they came away happy. there was nothing the staff wouldn't do to help. I'm just very happy to be eating there again.
A lovely place for a tasty relaxed meal with very attentive service.
I regularly go to this restaurant and generally been happy but last night was very disappointed. The stake costing £23 (without any sides) was thin, dry and burnt, I didn't want to complain not to ruin the atmosphere but will not be going for a while.
Great service and wonderful food!
Everything was delicious: the quail and rollmop starters and main of fillet of beef, crunchy chips and side salad. The service was helpful. It was a birthday meal which lived up to expectations.
Tables seemed to be a bit too close together for social distancing. Other Covid measures in place were OK
