Fine dining it was not..main course was terrible charred lettuce and half a raw onion with a fillet steak, the mushroom was like rubber.dessert was sickly sweet..Very disappointing was expecting a lot more. The bar food was a lot busier..
Staff amazing, courteous and couldn't do enough. Waa embarrassed when i got there that the table was booked for lunch not aft tea. Couldn't understand this as oroginally had booked for 4, this was confurmed, then I rang up to change it to 3 people, once again confirmed so unsure how the mistake was made.
Heineken could be colder. Soup wasn’t great. No bar snacks (crisps, chocolate, nuts) and it would be good to be able to have some sides in the drinking area ie: chips, toasties, wings... A vending machine would be handy also. Everything else was fantastic. Great room, great comfort. So good, that we stayed an extra night. We’ll be back.
Great food, excellent service and good atmosphere. Fantastic day
We booked afternoon tea for my mother's birthday and it was outstanding. That's my second time having afternoon tea at fota and gets a big thumbs up from me. Thanks again guys.
Staff are very friendly and welcoming. An amazing afternoon in a beautiful hotel.
A perfect afternoon tea with friends and new babies. The staff were excellent at looking after everything. It was very relaxing the food was great and any requests we had were no problem. We will all certainly be back. Thank you .
Gorgeous location for afternoon tea and superb staff, very friendly and accommodating, had a great experience will definitely be coming back
Absolutely beautiful place! We couldn't have been happier with the experience.
We had a great visit to Fota Island Resort. Thank you!
Afternoon tea was a lovely choice, great value for money
Afternoon tea was fantastic. Very balanced menu. Just enough savoury and sweet. Would definitely be my favourite afternoon tea experience so far.
We enjoyed a very relaxing afternoon and evening. Service was excellent. I would definitely recommend to a friend.
We had Afternoon Tea that was really tasty and fantastic value for money. Staff were so nice and even brought out chocolates for my friends birthday. Highly recommend!
As it was our first family trip away with our 4 month old we were so excited to make sure she had a good time so swimming was amazing she loved it, I had booked afternoon tea but even though staff were all very friendly & polite the bread our sandwiches were made with was hard as if they were left in the air too long, our afternoon tea stands came out to the table before a tea/coffee/water order was taken I had to track a waitress down to ask them to take a tea/coffee order, a bit disappointing as we spent €100 as friends of ours joined us I felt staff as I said before are very nice & polite appear to be lacking training or are just young and inexperienced has to be said it is letting you down. Dinner on previous afternoon was the same food was brought to the table before any drinks or water, paying for five star service but not receiving unfortunately
Brought my friend for afternoon tea and must say we loved it, everything was amazing, couldn't fault a thing. Will definitely return again.
We were extremely disappointed with the travel cot provided on the first night of our stay. It did not have a mattress. There were hard uneven joints in the base so we could not use it for our 8 month old to sleep in. We asked on night 1 for a mattress for the cot and were told no that it was against health and safety policy. As a result we had to allow the baby to sleep in the bed with us and nobody got any sleep. On day 2 I spoke to a lady at the front desk who also stated that a mattress could not be provided due to safety policy. She said that she would arrange for another cot however this never happened.. Instead we were provided with a cot mattress which we were refused until this point. I do not understand how we were refused this on the basis of health and safety one night and the next we are given the mattress. If the policy is not to provide mattress for travel cot that is fine however customers need to be informed at time of booking of this in order to make suitable arrangements or book different accommodation. Personally I do not see an issue with providing a mattress in a travel cot for customers... These mattresses come with travel cots when bought. However if there is a policy in place based on health and safety of an infant this should not be deviated from. I am confused as to what went on and disappointed with the lack of comfort on the first night of our stay.
Excellent loads of food and tea very enjoyable
lovely afternoon in your gorgeous hotel, you catered for my daughter who is Coeliac so well and she was thrilled with her afternoon tea treat...service was fantastic and atmosphere was wonderful as always...always love to visit Fota Hotel
It was a family celebration and we stayed in two lodges and had a wonderful time . The facilities for children were great. Lovely walks. Ate in hotel and food and service was fantastic. Wonderful experience.
Went to the restaurant for the evening. We both really enjoyed the food
We couldn't fault the experience it was wonderful and highly recommend it.
Your staff were excellent. Efficient & very helpful. We were at your restaurant for my daughter's confirmation. She had an amazing day as did the rest of our guests. We also stayed 10 months ago for my eldest daughters confirmation and it was our girls choice where to go this year and they chose Fota. My husband is a supervisor at Merck across from Fota and attends several functios/ conferences and always speaks very highly of your hotel. Thank you for making our special occasion special.
Lunch menu was limited in choice, and dinner was the same menu practically, in the same place "the Amber Lounge" so a selection of gourmet restaurants quoted is inaccurate. The room was spacious, with Nespresso machine and adequate bottled water, however every time we entered we had a stale but faint drain smell partially cured by placing a towel over shower outlet. The hotel information cards had been fingered too many times and corners of cards were ragged. The bottom of door in bathroom had peeling off wood veneer, maybe a flood had been in the room, which was called as "Luxury"?? The Spa in total contrast was pure indulgence and luxury. I would use the spa again, but stay in another hotel. The sister hotel, the Kingsley is better.
