Really enjoyable afternoon tea. Will be returning.
Amazing afternoon tea
I was really disappointed with our two night stay at Fota. On arrival we were not made feel very welcome as we did not have a voucher printed. We had to sit in reception for 15 mins while we tried to get it printed. In the restaurant I asked for my beef medium- well. It came well done if not over done. I was looking forward to using the spa and was sent a voucher by my friend when i arrived. I could not book any treatments as the spa was full. The jacuzzi in the spa was not even working son could not even make use of that. My friend sent me a bottle of champagne for my birthday to my room- when it arrived I had to ring down to reception to ask who it was from Because they forgot to leave a note. Overall very poor experience. Not worth the money, nothing 5 star about your hotel.
We had to ask twice for Milk & sugar and when they came tea was cold ..However from then on service was grand ..Appreciated the extra thought behind the birthday presemtation plate ..top marks for that ..
The hotel is fabulous, food is amazing and the staff are wonderful and kind.
Lovely afternoon spent having afternoon tea the atmosphere was lovely relaxed and made for a very enjoyable visit
Staff were delightful - afternoon tea was average
spa experience was amazing , unfortunately dinning not so , We ate in the restaurant , my friend ordered Caesar which came without the croutons & bacon ( after asking about this they came out about 10 min later ...this was lunchtime ) For dinner I ordered the lamb which was extremely tough & cane with one piece of carrot & a baby beetroot cut in half !!!!! ..very overpriced for the quality & quantity we received . The menu is very limited in the restaurant . Next time we stay we would definitely order from the bar menu as better selection and cheaper
So I booked afternoon tea for 2 adults and 2 children yet when I got there I was told you did not do afternoon tea for children! Also I found the fact afternoon tea was served in the bar disappointing. Many other similar hotels in cork have a separate afternoon tea room and a much more exclusive experience. Overall disappointing however the food served was nice.
Brilliant customer support, suit was amazing I also got upgraded. Will surely come there for our anniversary as me and my fiancé got engaged there. She was blown away by the organisation. Thanks guys
Not nice set up for afternoon tea. Hotel is nice but no thought for the whole ritual of afternoon tea. I was disappointed that I was asked to sit in the bar during busy lunch service on high seats. Afternoon tea has always been a experience with linen and high quality of food. Tea /coffee served in pots not cups... Myself and my friend have afternoon tea every month and it's our treat. I found fota resort was the most expensive and poorest to date. Will not recommend fota afternoon tea service to any of my friends. Mags Oconnell
Limited menu, overpriced, would have preferred to have eaten in the bar, more choices and better atmosphere.
Cannot fault anything!
Excellent afternoon tea, a little unusual there wasn't a menu choice of teas however. The food was delicious, the chicken wrap and chocolate mousse were standouts. Atmosphere was fantastic along with the open fire.
enjoyed our stay but i didn't think breakfast was five star no berries or i expected breakfast to be cooked individually
Great day for Afternoon Tea, delish!
The food was beautiful. Nice, calm atmosphere I thoroughly enjoyed my meal
Food in the main restaurant for dinner and breakfast was amazing! Venison for starter was amazing! As was the chocolate fondant for dessert!
Fab as usual 😆
Food was fantastic! We had 3 courses and were really impressed, the monkfish was particularly good! The cheese board was a really generous size and great variation! Only quibble would be the atmosphere - very cold. A lot of tables were unset which made the restaurant seem emptier (especially large tables in the center of the room). Some candles on the tables or a rejig to fill the center of the room before the sides might help with this. On reflection we would probably eat in the bar next time as it was warmer and felt more inviting.
We stayed in one of the lodges. It was very nice, spacious and clean but it would have been useful to know in advance that there were no stair gates available. We made the booking for two adults and a child, so thought this info would have been useful. I did not think to ask until we got there, which is my own fault but just a suggestion. Thanks
We were really delighted with our stay. There was only a few minor elements that could be improved such as the spa (renovations) was very noisy during treatments and the relaxation room was also quite noisy with ladies chatting loudly. It could have just been that time of day. Overall we loved it. We will definitely be staying again!
It was lovely experience staying in fota.room was lovely wth everything for your comfort .friendky helpful staff.only drawback was d expense.we had one night bb and evening meal.bot of wine was 30 euro for a basic pinot griego.it was 19.50 for irish breakfast.we had voucher for 200 euro so the total was 255 euro for a nite with one dinner for 2.i loved it but couldnt afford it in future.
We had a lovely evening at the restaurant. Nice atmosphere, great food and the staff were excellent. Perfect for a relaxing break.
