We visited the restaurant on Saturday 19th and we had a really lovely time. My daughter Emmy has additional needs and she is deaf, she doesn’t usually eat much but really enjoyed her food that the chef made especially for her. Thank you for having us, we will come again!
Possibly a little expensive but we had a great time nonetheless.
We really enjoyed our Afternoon Tea at Forbury's. Excellent selection of food and friendly yet professional service. We will certainly book again.
Good food and service. Would recommend
Had a wonderful anniversary dinner with my wife which the team recognised.. The staff were all very attentive throughout the meal, and enjoyed talking with us about the food served. All courses were delicious and made for a special evening. Will definitely be going back.
Very nice food and friendly service
The only reason the value for money is 4* is the price of wine. Otherwise this was wonderful food in a relaxed yet attentive setting.
Lovely friendly staff and delicious lunch, thank you we look forward to returning
Lovely evening.Fantastic food. Really helpful, knowledgeable staff.
The Express Menu was limited but our choices were delicious
A really great evening with wonderful food, drink and atmosphere.
I 'm french and I use to come to this good restaurant each time when I come in Reading. Very good french cooking and quite athmosphere.
Amazing food, fantastic service and a great atmosphere
Excellent in virtually all regards with a superb wine list. The only reason atmosphere was a slight letdown? We were the only diners there that evening! A crying shame as others eating out in Reading are missing what is the best restaurant in the city.
My first time visiting the Forburys Restaurant and was thoroughly impressed with both the food and service.
Delightful food and service.
The food was tasty and ample (we especially enjoyed the coq au vin, which seemed authentic, like the ones we’d had in France, and the crème brûlée was good too). The service was excellent, with the waiter bringing useful extra spoons, without being asked, for starters and dessert, and (as happens in the best restaurants) refolding the napkin when I left the table for a short time. The ambience is agreeable, smart but relaxing, with a roomy interior and tall windows looking out on to Forbury Square. The bill was surprisingly low, given the generally high quality of the dining experience.
My girlfriend and I went to Forburys for an evening meal on a Saturday night. First impressions were that the place seemed a little quiet, but we did book a late reservation and when seated we noticed that the place was in fact about half full. We were greeted at the door and coats taken for us and then led to our table. The entrance to the restaurant and the bar look very impressive and well presented, the dining area was a little more reserved in terms of decor but it didn't distract from the atmosphere. The waiters were very attentive and our order was taken as soon as we were ready. The quality of the food was very good and portion sizes were just right; as someone with a big appetite I was concerned before the meal that I would be left still hungry, but this was not the case. There was a good selection of wine on the list and the Pinot Noir that we chose was very nice. All in all a nice romantic meal at a fairly reasonable price - I would certainly consider returning again.
Lovely meal from the good value Lunchtime Menu, which has a varied choice over all 3 courses. Attentive, but not intrusive service. Great ambience. All in all a very enjoyable experience.
Great food, service and atmosphere. The food is really nice and fancy. The prices are quite high but it is great to celebrate special occasions.
We dined on a Friday night which was the start of birthday celebrations that weekend. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. Definitely to be recommended.
The service and food are both perfect. I have been several times and the excellent level of quality and service is always 10/10. Thank you.
We had a superb lunch to celebrate my daughter’s birthday, great value for money and great service. The food was beautifully cooked and the coffee piping hot which makes a change these days. A gem in the middle of Reading.
