Home-cooked classics from coast to country, the Five Bells Inn menu makes the most of the amazing quality ingredients available locally according to the season.
Spent 3 enjoyable hours over our 3 course meal. Very relaxed, good food an very good beer.
I really enjoyed my visit . A lovely atmosphere, lovely guys on duty who were friendly, polite and well mannered . Good service and good food. All in place for appropriate distancing , a one way system, in the main entrance and out the door near the toilets , with alcohol gel on hand in all relevant areas . Will def come back Especially as a walking distance from home , and will recommend
I would rather not give any scores (so have just clicked on one star but that's because I have to - we didn't stay) : we booked on-line a couple of weeks in advance (2pm - Sunday lunch) after great reviews on line re Sunday lunch and recommendations. We arrived early (1.15) to be told that all roasts (two selections) were already sold out!!!... Completely understand that the menu has to be limited due to lifting but continued COVID restrictions at the moment but... the other options just weren't an alternative (we left without eating) and.. one would have assumed with booking on-line at the moment that covers / numbers could have been accommodated - especially at 1.15... as I say not going to score as we live in unusual times ... but perhaps the Five Bells' fantastic reputation for Sunday lunches deserves getting some extras in...??
Our first pub lunch since lockdown and we had a wonderful time. Clean, safe, delicious food and super friendly staff :) The kids ate everything and the whole visit was stress free! Thank you for helping complete our holiday on a high note 👍
This was our first time eating out since lockdown. Food was great, staff friendly and we felt quite relaxed. This pub is quite local to us and within walking distance and as my husband has a preference for Adnams ales, this was a good choice. Wouldn’t hesitate to book again.
Excellent service and the most amazing Smoked Haddock chowder.
Very friendly and helpful staff. The meal was excellent and really good value.
First lunch out this summer. Busy so waited a bit to give order. Very good fish dishes, small plate was generous. Friendly staff. Safety measures very good.
We have just had the most wonderful stay and two fantastic meals at the five bells. We stayed last year returned again and we highly recommend to others. Mark was an excellent example of super customer service, friendly and welcoming. We had stayed at the white horse at Blakeney during our trip but this was overpriced, and service was extremely poor in comparison.
Lovely pub, great atmosphere and outdoor space. Happily come here again.
The Restaurant food was absolutely excellent and all the staff were very friendly and helpful.
Lovely evening, I had smoked mackerel chowder and my husband had the pork belly. Both dishes where delicious. Also had the white chocolate cheesecake, possibly the best I’ve ever had. Great job chef❤️ Would highly recommend
Food is great, staff are polite and very attentive. Would definitely come again and recommend to friends.
Very quiet, only 4 other diners so not a lot of atmosphere. Waitress was very polite and cheerful. My meal wasn’t as described on the menu but the waitress and chef offered me an alternative and then took the meal off the bill, I hadn’t requested this or made a complaint so I was very impressed. They are really trying to please customers and I wish them all the best for the future.
Lovely Sunday lunch. Friendly and helpful staff. Sensible COVID-19 measures in place. And charged the electric car to boot. Have already recommended!
It's great to see the five bells back open and serving good food. I found it very easy to book a table and when we turned up, we were greeted by a very friendly young barman, showed us to our table and explained the new covid 19 rules and procedures, then he took our food and drink order. He was very helpful and explained about some of the dishes on the menu. My partner is lactose intolerant and the barman sorted out her dish, nothing was too much trouble and the chief catered for her no problem at all. Would highly recommend the five bells for a nice meal and a few drinks, their friendly staff and good atmosphere.
This isn't what I would expect from Adnams brand. The camp site is poorly presented. It's seem as if the management are inaffecual and the finish is poor. Sorry but as a big Adnams fan I'm disappointed in the effort that Adnams haven't gone to Mr [email protected]
Mark is an excellent host. The Five Bells also have an electric car charging point.
Did an amazing job. - about the only pub in the Southwold area serving. Well organised and attentive staff. Maccheese just tasted of flour, very small list of sides, no music, too clinical but we know why so appreciated.
In our first foray into A Pub post relaxing of lockdown the Manager met us at the door and made us welcome and immediately at ease. His professional approach and obvious pride in his role was first class. Food and drink were excellent and it's dog friendly. I would highly recommend the establishment.
Well organised given the circumstances but lacked atmosphere. No condiments offered or drink refills. Food was good. Presentation very good.
