About Five Bells Inn, Wrentham
Home-cooked classics from coast to country, the Five Bells Inn menu makes the most of the amazing quality ingredients available locally according to the season.
The pub has a good selection of Adnams cask and keg beers on the bar, and an excellent range of Adnams Southwold-made spirits, as well as a comprehensive wine list.
I understand the pub is under new management, so I respect there is probably going to be teething problems. Our visit was good - the accommodation was very clean and looked recently redecorated. We was impressed by the size of the room (room 1). I think the alarm system needs looking into as this went off 4 times during the night - so didn't help in obtaining a good nights sleep. The food (Sat evening meal) was very nice and arrived hot as you would expect. The service was good and did not feel rushed at any point. Staff were polite and checking if all was well. Breakfast was also nice with a good choice available. The drinks were ok, just as lack of ice in some of the Gins we ordered which would have made the drink more enjoyable on a hot afternoon. The Beer and Ales on offer were from the local brewery only, additional draught beers outside the area would have been nice to have as an additional choice. All in all we did enjoy our stay and would visit again.
