About Fishbone Restaurant & Bar
Fishbone Restaurant is located in Future Inn Plymouth hotel and serves great British food with an array of delicious fresh fish dishes. We pride ourselves on providing the best, mouth-watering dishes using fresh local ingredients. The restaurant has gained an excellent reputation and is the perfect setting for a family celebration, a catch up with friends, client meeting or an intimate dinner for two.
Our food is presented in an informally relaxed manner is served all day, every day. There’s a wide range of beer, lager and wine on offer – almost all of which are available by the glass, as well as the bottle. Naturally, there’s a good choice of soft drinks too, including refreshing fruit juices, tea, coffee and hot chocolate.
The food was plentiful and dietary requirements were met, the service was very good and nothing was too much trouble for the young lady waiting our table. We were the only diners for a great amount of ths time, so the atmosphere was only what we made ourselves, some festive music may have helped create an atmosphere. But overall a good place to meet up
We had a table of 9 We waited 25 minutes for our drinks. Then we ordered our food and we waited 45 minutes to an hour. Some of the food was cold by this point we were so hungry we just ate it.then we waited a further 30 minutes for dessert which wasn't brought out together. It wasn't even packed... Then they got the bill wrong. We were seated at 6:30 and we didn't leave until 9:15. Didn't enjoy the experience from the fishbone. Won't be going back!!
The staff are great nothing is to much trouble and the food is great well worth a visit
Staff extremely polite.
Very disappointed that when I asked for a Blue Margerita cocktail - the bar did not have the necessary spirits to make one!! I was told when ordering calamari that it was no longer a menu item despite being 'on the menu'. Vegetables were overcooked. I would have expected a small dish of mayo when requested - not plastic sachets. Overall very disappointed.
The service manager ( young lady with long dark hair and glasses) Wonderful, quick, professional and very kind and helpful. We are coming back next week with family.
Timing poor, service poor. Food average at best.
Always made welcome
Not very good value for money, can get much better for the same price elsewhere, typical hotel restaurant, will not be going again
Very disappointing. Wrong order brought out initially. Our side orders were brought to the table with no sign of our meals. When our meals finally arrived the vegetables were stone cold and the gravy, well the menu called it gravy. It was disgusting more lumps than rice pudding and tasted awful. The chef should be given his marching orders for sending out such food and expecting customers to pay.
Excellent meal perfectly cooked, very satisfying, restaurant spotless plenty of space, staff friendly and efficient, will be back
Always a pleasure and lovely food
Waiter turned up with the wrong drinks because clearly didn't want to be working. Also had to ask another waiter to clear our table and for a dessert menu because our waiter couldn't be bothered to come back. Wouldn't eat here again - service poor & food basic.
Helpful friendly staff team, no problems. The cream tea was nice however it was far too much, more for four people than two, but of a waste. The sandwiches seemed a bit stale like they had been prepared early morning.
Excellent as always. Why no white meat like turkey? A lot of people don't like pork or beef. Person on the next table asked for turkey. My friends won't come, as they only eat white meat. Also no vegetarian option.
Service was poor. Staff were unaware of their job roles. Table services was poor- leaning across customers- clearing table whilst people were still eating-not providing correct cutlery, the ribs. Puddings were of a poor quality (they were dry (chocolate mouse cake and sticky toffee pudding)). Staff need to be taught how to make a coffee correctly- an espresso is not pouring a bit of normal coffee into a standard coffee cup and calling it an espresso. We are sorry but we will not recommend fishbone.
Could of done with some French mustard.
Amazing food excellent service was lovely spending the time in the same place we got married x
We came for Sunday Roast. The carrots and parsnip were overcooked and dried out,the potatoes were muchy on the inside, all in all not a very nice meal. The restaurant had no atmosphere at all,it was like sitting in a canteen. The whole of the restaurant needed a little bit of TLC I felt. All in all,not an enjoyable experience.
Had Sunday roast and it was very nice but the drinks was expensive 2 carlsbergs and glass of wine £17
We were all very happy with our food. It was served hot and was very tasty. I would have liked the option of chicken as a main but everything else was lovely. My husband and family loved it and we would definitely come again.
Long wait to order till the end of the meal! Food (tuna steak and rump steak) over cooked! And very expensive... 80£ for two starters(7£ both) a steak 18£ a tuna steak 12£ a bier, a gin and tonic and a glass of wine??? Plus a long long long delay! Although the manager Gilles was very friendly!
