About Felt Restaurant
felt restaurant serves delightful, seasonal fare in a charming and relaxed setting.
Named after the green ‘felt’ lining on top of the hotel’s famous billiard table, this Melbourne restaurant cleverly combines modern day furnishings within a historical Melbourne landmark.
Irish coffee was not classic in presentation or style
Have been to this restaurant many times and it is always really good.Last night I ordered the lamb rack...It was delicious but for $45 it was overpriced..There was only 2 points of lamb rack and a small pastry casing on the plate ...In comparison to my partners pork belly it looked very small..Everything else however was really good especially the jalapeño and manchego croquettes and duck liver parfait..
I only put atmosphere down lower as we were about the only other table in the restaurant that night ( everyone was out at the tennis - Australian Open- I think maybe there were one or two others that left earlier. So through no fault of you or your restaurant, just would have been nice to have a few more people to help create a buzz. But, loved the restaurant otherwise. We have been before and will come again. Loved being able to play a game of billiards after dinner.
I really enjoy dining here.it is a bit pricey but cocktails are great and we get 50% off food.the staff on this occasion were ok but nothing special.being my birthday I thought they may have mentioned this but really they weren’ interested in interacting with our group at all.pity as usually the young waitress who serves us is wonderful but alas she was working behind the front desk on this night. When we questioned one of our steaks they really were interested in hearing what we had to say.Anyway even though the night was fantastic we will go back as this may just be a one off. Hope so as we have dined here many times and wish to continue to do so.
Nice place and good food..
Food was delicious and staff were friendly and helpful. Restaurant was quiet and private which was very refreshing! Value for money could be improved
We had the high tea. Really great, helpful, friendly staff, great food, really good value too.
We have dined in this restaurant a few times and this time they get a new menu. Good for a change. The food is still good With excellent service.
Felt is an exceptional restaurant in a hidden gem of a hotel. Genuinely knowledgeable and warm service backs up top notch cuisine in an ambient setting. Wines are excellent at prices that remain very reasonable by the glass.
Great night amazing food awesome staff great job be back in a year
The food was very good. The only criticism was that the pate was a bit watery and should have been a firmer consistency.
Very disappointed not to the standard of other Accor restaurants. The large plate of Truffle duck ragout was smaller than my wife's medium plate of slowly braised crispy skin pork belly, was blend with very little duck. My wife however enjoyed he meal. The orange creme brûlée was also disappointed no where near the standard of the creme brûlée at the Sofitel Brisbane and not what you would expect from a French owned hotel chain. Please check my reviews for Prive 249 on 27 September & 14 October. You will note that I was completely satisfied. Regards Bruce Wheate
This is the second time we had dinner in this restaurant. We tried different dishes this time and all are very good. We love everything here, the food, the atmosphere, the services and the friendly staff.
Hopefully this is not the norm but both our steaks were one levelunder done, ie i ordered medium rare and my wife medium but the steak came out rare and medium rare respecively. However, the restaurant did not charge one of the steak due to this issue.
Very good service.
Great food (love the Tapas style), excellent service, beautifully restored building provides a lovely atmosphere in a great location.
Highly recommend for an intimate dinner. Delicious food and great atmosphere.
The atmosphere was beautiful and intimate. Most of the dishes were excellent, but the dumplings were disappointing. Service was superb
The food was ordinary, there was nothing that we ate that you could say that was great. The best part about this restaurant was the waitress, I have dietary requirements and she had checked with the kitchen before we arrived so she knew what could be modified on the menu, she was pleasant and attentive without being intrusive.
How a quality restaurant such as Felt can run out of steak, mussels and the premium dessert by 8pm on a Saturday night is unfathomable! The restaurant is not that large to have had such a large run on these items. The waiter showed little true concern about half the menu items being unavailable and seemed to regard it as a bit humerous. We often dine at Felt because it is quiet, has a nice atmosphere and generally excellent wait staff not this night! Very disappointing.
Very few guests when we were there, so atmosphere was lacking a little. I would imagine it would have a lovely atmosphere though with more customers. Could not fault food and service, wine by the glass was very expensive though,
Lovely dining concept of shared plates that ranged from small to large plates.
A lovely dining experience. The place had a cosy feel and wasn't too noisy.
Sensational front of house Staff. Evie was particularly attentive, informative and engaging. Very professional. Made the night for our small group.
