About Felin Fach Griffin
A dining pub with rooms nestling near the book town of Hay-on-Wye between The Black Mountains and The Brecon Beacons, not far from the market towns of Abergavenny and Crickhowell.
To supplement the fruits (and vegetables) of our own kitchen garden, we support our local community and source our produce with sustainability in mind, to prepare a constantly changing menu of simple, well executed food, that you will want to eat.
A joy to be back and as good as before if not better. Staff cheerful and helpful; food amazing. Have really missed it but will be back soon.
Went back to the Felin Fach Griffin after a few years and it was just as good as we remembered it - would thoroughly recommend it.
Very attentive service and food fabulous as always. We really enjoyed our visit
A very fine lunch. Many thanks.
Very long wait for drinks , food absolutely amazing. Any recommendations: I would suggest putting gravy to the separate pot rather than on the plate already .
We had breakfast recently and received a very friendly welcome, excellent service and fabulous food. The homemade marmalade was amazing!
Delicious Saturday breakfast. Eggy bread with perfectly cooked streaky bacon and maple syrup plus scrambled eggs with locally sourced smoked salmon provided the energy we needed before hiking in the Black Mountains. Washed down with freshly squeezed orange juice (what a treat) and the best decaffeinated flat whites we've had. It was the last place we ate before December lockdown and the first we returned to once current restrictions had been lifted - Felin Fach Griffin really understands how to provide excellent service alongside the Covid regulations that they have to follow. Thank you!
Great brunch, thank you. Can’t wait to return.
Great open air eating experience. Food, service and general ambience all delightful. Thanks!
Not sure how I ended up on your mailing list, but the marketing certainly worked as I was keen to visit when I realised I would be passing nearby. The food was delicious and beautifully presented, the menu well thought out, and portion sizes were ideal. I will definitely be back, and look forward to seeing the inside of the building too
Glad you’re back open. Food was lovely, just what we were after. The dog prefers being outside too as the grass is good for wriggles.
I was great to be able enjoy lunch once again at the Felin Fach. The weather threw everything at us, bright sunshine followed by hailstones which sent everyone running for the marquee. Despite this the food and service was faultness. Dress for the weather and everything else will be taken of. We will be back soon.
We always loving visiting the Felin Fach Griffin. It’s so lovely that they have been able to open, although it was a little chilly we loved sitting outside under the marquee. As always the food didn’t disappoint. The staff are always lovely and friendly. We can’t wait to come back.
A great meal in difficult circumstances due to Covid. Very Covid secure.
Very friendly and prompt service, food was excellent (as always), the seating was comfortable and well spaced out.
Fantastic food, excellent service. Will be back 100%
Food good as always. A few ‘teething’ issues on re-opening day. Menu choices not available but not informed prior to ordering and then order not taken correctly so one meal delivered ahead of other 3.
If I could give more stars, I would.
thank you we had a lovely and much-needed meet-up with family here, and were very grateful for your hospitality, care and attention to us, whilst maintaining sensible precautions. Your non alchohol drinks menu is impressive!
Fabulous stay in very difficult circumstances
Lovely lunch. Perfect food and wonderful service.
Excellent as always. Pity about the alcohol! This was the compensation for our cancelled Christmas in Pembrokeshire and an opportunity to entertain John Kendal David T M Lloyd
Excellent value lunch. A little disappointed that it was only a limited festive menu but under the current conditions, we understood. Salmon starter was fresh & delicious. Lovely hake let down by a watery sauce and woody, inedible samphire. Fab fondant. Slightly offhand service. Overall, a really good lunch. We look forward to visiting again for the full a la carte experience.
Absolutely divine food with friendly attentive service. Would highly recommend.
