With its rich heritage as a Royal Manor which has hosted many eminent guests including Queen Elizabeth I, Fawsley Hall offers a fascinating and unique setting for special occasions and dining.
Guests can enjoy a mixture of the traditional and contemporary, with classic afternoon tea in the Tudor Great Hall or modern British food in the award-winning Cedar Restaurant. Located on the ground floor of the South Wing, this space was built in the early 16th century and displays many hallmarks of the Tudor era, with a beamed ceiling, exposed brickwork and stone fireplace.
Our private dining rooms are perfect for intimate occasions, or the Tudor Bar offers a cosy retreat within which to eat a light lunch or indulge in a pre-dinner cocktail.

Just all a bit underwhelming really. The menu and prices gave an expectation of quality that wasn’t there. The food was nice enough - good pub food standard - but by no means exceptional and definitely overpriced for what we got. The arancini starter was disappointingly bland and the mashed potatoes were far too salty. Distinct lack of vegetables unless ordered as extras at nearly £5 a pop. Sadly meh.

Everything was perfect, if I had one concern it would be the cost of the wine, it is an excellent quality but £39.00.00 for Cadena Malbec is not consistent with other establishments selling it, and £14.00 a glass is more than the purchase price for a bottle from most leading wine sellers. .

I booked dinner for 7 in the Cedar Restaurant to celebrate my grandparents 60th Wedding Anniversary. Although when we arrived things seemed a little disorganised in the great hall where we had drinks to start with, the service quickly redeemed itself all thanks to our fantastic waiter Clem who went above and beyond throughout the whole meal. He made us feel that nothing was too much trouble and gave such a personable experience. The restaurant had no issues with me arriving earlier in the day to set up decorations for the table and although there was a slight miscommunication about which table we requested, the lady in the restaurant assured it was no trouble to move us. The food was served promptly and was absolutely delicious! Although the brownie was a little too rich for some of us we could not fault anything about the quality of the food and drinks all evening. We really look forward to returning in the future!

Food was very good however upon checking out I had to get my bill amended 3 times as had been charged more than once for drinks and afternoon tea .

We had a lovely waiter and waitress (think the lady was the manager but I’m not 100%) kept us very engaged and happy. We would definitely like to stay over next time pending a willing babysitter! Thank you 😊

We had a very pleasant lunch in a lovely setting. Fawsley is still very much somewhere to go for a special treat but we hope to come back again and enjoy another experience before too long.

In terms of atmosphere, too dark and it lacked warmth. The starters were decent but the the fish (cod) for the main course was not fresh and had a distinct off smell. It was mentioned to the waiters and we didnt eat the fish (couldn't) but the price was not waived from the bill only the service charge. As for service.. They took my friends coat at the start - as we were leaving they never returned it to her or remembered to mention it to her by the time she remembered we were miles away and could not return and they are charging for posting it to her. Overall disappointing. Extremely so.

I am very sorry that you didn't enjoy your fish dish, I have investigated and spoken with the waiter who served you, he did mention that we offered to replace the meal at the time but this was declined. The fish had been delivered that morning, so please rest assured that it was fresh, however I am sorry that it was not was not to your taste. Please accept my apologies for this. We always take coats to be hung in our cloak room but this is returned upon request, I am sorry this incurred a charge for you however this is inline with all lost property for the hotel. The waiter questioned my daughters choice when she asked for rare steak . Almost as if he didn’t think she understood what she was ordering . We had anlate booking and we waited a little longer for our mains and the waiter seemed al little tired by the time we were eating. Not inpleassnt or rude just as if he was ready to end his shift. The restaurant manager was a delight . We eat here quite frequently and you never disappoint. Lovely food .

My party of 10 had lunch in the Cedar restaurant on Saturday 13th July. It was to be a special occasion to thank my family for supporting me during the past 3 years through serious illness and major operations. We started off in the Bar where we all had drinks. When the dining table was ready some of my guests had not finished their drinks and I was surprised and disappointed that the drinks were not taken to the table by one of the waiters as happens in all other upmarket restaurants we have dined at. Instead we ended up carrying our own drinks to the table, having to go down some steps to access the area.Two of the guests carrying drinks were well over seventy years of age! At the table wine was ordered and the waiter did initially pour out the wine but omitted to do so afterwards. One of the male guests at the table did this, as he did for the bottles of water on the table. The starters arrived which were all lovely, thank you. However one of the main courses did not arrive. It had not been passed to the kitchen and arrived 10 minutes later. An apology was given and a charge was not made for this meal which was very nice but I am sure you agree should not have happened in the first place. Desserts were ordered and again were very good indeed - thank you. However one of the guests did not order dessert as I had ordered a 'special plate' for her as a big thank you for supporting me during numerous hospital appointments. I had to excuse myself from the table and ask for it to be served. - disappointing. The bill for lunch was nearly £700 and for this amount of money I felt the service at Fawsley Hall was not up to its usual standard. It seemed that more attention was being given to the afternoon tea customers and not the dining customers. The dining area was certainly not busy, there were only two other parties eating besides ourselves. Sadly we were not given the attention expected and also not made to feel 'special' at all which was a great shame seeing as it is a beautiful place. Instead of leaving Fawsley Hall with the feeling of a beautiful experience we felt let down and disappointed. One of my guests even had to ask if there was a Lounge area to have our coffees and was just told 'there is a seating area outside or you could sit in the Conservatory at any table without a tablecloth on? We were not shown either area but left to our own devises to find them. We left shortly afterwards. To sum up - food was very good but the service offered to us was sadly lacking.
