Beautiful Scottish restaurant in the heart of Kincardine. Situated in the birthplace of Kincardine's most famous son, James Dewar. We offer locally sourced, homemade food with cosy and comfortable surroundings and excellent service.
Had a delicious Sunday lunch with friends. Lovely cosy surroundings on a day of awful weather. Service was very friendly and attentive, and the food was great. Thank you, we will be back!
We didn't know the restaurant had changed management before we arrived so had expected a very similar menu to our last visit which had vegetarian/ vegan options. Food was piping hot with good size portions. My only gripe was the poor choice of options for vegetarians and there was no vegan option. I probably should have advised before I visited. That being said the macaroni was fabulous. What can I say about the peanut butter brownie that would do it justice....it was WOW! I was tempted to ask for the recipe. We had to hang around to pay our bill as there were no staff. In fairness it did sound like there was a private function ongoing. All staff we met were polite and friendly and a credit to the restaurant. Please put a couple of veggie/ vegan options on the menu so I can visit again.
My first visit to Faodail to celebrate my wife's 40th Birthday and when we arrived we discovered it is now called "The Tartan Rooster" (at least that is what is on the menu). Food was very nice and the service provided by Jason was excellent; attentive but not intrusive. It was very quiet in the restaurant (being a Monday lunchtime) so can only score a 3 for atmosphere but it looks like it would have a great vibe on a Friday or Saturday. No issues other than it was cash only so we had to go to the Post office to withdraw cash. Hopefully this will be resolved soon and can only assume it was due to the recent takeover. Would recommend and will visit again in the future.
Food was absolutely delicious and waiter could not have been more attentive and friendly
Lovely home made food. Will definitely be back.
Excellent food at very reasonable prices and the service was great too. The restaurant was quiet but it was early evening mid week. Would recommend Faodail to anyone in or around Kincardine to try.
Beautiful meal, service was excellent. Young boy who served us was so polite and could not do enough to ensure we had a nice evening . Would recommend.
Our overall experience of Faodall was ok, the servers were very friendly and efficient the overall price of food and drinks was quite acceptable. The one let down and it was quite off putting was the extremely sticky surface of the dining table. I did ask the server if he could give it a wipe and he did immediately, however the surface remained very sticky so much so that if you leant against the table the cloth of my shirt stuck to it as did my sons, it’s such a shame because it was so off putting for me personally, I ended up placing my napkin on the table in front of me and I managed to relax much more. I had the Balmoral Chicken it was served with the haggis separately personally I would have preferred the chicken to be stuffed with the haggis as I feel it keeps the centre of the breast more moist. As a family we felt the food was ok and had the table had not been the way it was we would consider returning. I have encountered the sticky table issue before with a chain restaurant and wooden tables it turned out to be the chemical cleaning agent and the wood mix that caused the stickiness hopefully this is all that's wrong here also.
friendly and helpful waitor
Quality food served by friendly staff.
Excellent as always
Helpful, professional, friendly service. Delicious food. Really tasty and that was the reduced menu. Reasonable price for the quality of the food. Quirky little street/area. We look forward to sampling the full menu. Thanks to all.
Amazing food amazing atmosphere we met for our annual Christmas lunch with my aunt as Kincardine is in the middle of all of us location wise. Thanks again the food was yummy!
Christmas Day food immense. Excellent service.
We have been to the restaurant a few times and the food is always amazing. The chef can’t be faulted. The staff are always very warm welcoming and the service is outstanding. Anyone that says they are disappointed clearly can’t be used to much.
Brilliant! Can we book for Christmas 2020?
Brilliant!! Staff, service, food all bloomin’ brilliant xxx
Food is always of best quality and staff are efficient and pleasant.
Hannah- owner and front of house I'd outstanding and goes above and beyond. Her partner (chef) omg, food is unreal. It's such a treat coming here. We come here whenever we can. Such good value for money too. Always feel right at home. Thank you!!!!!
What a lovely find!! I hadn’t been before but I hope to visit again before too long!! The food was delicious. One bit of what I hope is constructive criticism was that I couldn’t find you at first, so maybe a pavement notice board at the mini roundabout might help??? (My satnav wasn’t talking to me ☹️) But now that I know where you are, I’ll be back!!!
Food was excellent and staff were lovely. I was there for hogmanay last year but this visit was the first time for most of my family and everyone said they would love to go again
Quality food and service Give it a try you wont be disappointed
Very friendly staff & food was delicious
Food takes a bit long to arrive, but well worth the wait. Staff excellent. Very friendly and always smiling. Will be back.
We visited to celebrate my birthday, alll I can say is you should visit . Service is fantastic, the owner so hospitable makes you feel very welcome . All home cooked food which is absolutely delicious. My sister sampled the gin of which there was an amazing choice . Thoroughly recommend.
