About The Falcon Hotel
Under the direction of Head Chef Russell Bateman, Eyas works hand-in-hand with local farmers, estate gamekeepers and nurseries to supply our kitchen with produce wherever possible that is grown, harvested and reared from within the 10,500 acre Castle Ashby Estate. The surrounding landscape shapes our menus.
Reintroducing seasonal, organic produce with pickling and fermentation, to create menus that comfort, nourish and redefine ‘feel good food’. Open for breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner and private events.
Such a brilliant place to come to. Really lovely vibe and such a beautiful setting. We will be back ... again and again.
This was the first post lockdown outing for me and a group of friends. The setting and furniture was lovely and the waiters and waitresses were nice. But we were so very disappointed with the management and service provided. One of the waiters split a whole glass of wine over one of us, an accident and we took it as such. But subsequently the way in which the manager of the evening dealt with the incident was so disappointing. We asked for a blanket for warmth and if there was anything we could be offered as compensation the manager was given 2 chances to make us feel valued and sincerely sorry for the accident. But he offered us paper towels no blanket and reprimanded the party for upsetting one of the waitresses ( this was due to two of our party approaching the waitress to ask for the manager). When the bill arrived we had been charged for service. This felt like an insult as there was no acknowledgement that our friend had had to sit outside with a whole glass of wine all over her. We left feeling disappointed upset and that our business was really not important to the falcon. So we will unfortunately not be able to recommend the falcon to our friends there were 6 of us so quite significant amount number of poor reviews will be made. We recommend that the staff have a clear understanding of how to deal with situations like this and the company have a policy in place to make it fair and transparent.
Lovely environment. Afternoon tea cakes were stunning. Will ask for more sandwiches and less cakes next time to suit my more savoury tooth. Being given the option would be great.
Wonderful Sunday lunch
Great atmosphere and the service team were very polite and helpful. Everyone enjoyed their meal so that was fantastic!
We were really pleased with the levels of service that we received throughout the afternoon tea. Lovely welcome and the team were thoroughly engaging. The sandwiches, scones and cakes were delicious. I would happily recommend for a special occasion.
I have visited Eyas Restaurant at the Falcon twice . Once on a Saturday evening and once for Sunday lunch. Both times impeccable service and presentation of food cooked perfectly.
I was very disappointed that such a lovely place is not employing the right staff for the job. The service was extremely slow. The manager on Friday evening (7th May) was uninterested in actually seeing if everyone had what they needed or making sure the very young staff were aware of the customers needs. A group of ladies were left freezing cold with 4 heaters blaring out heat nowhere near where they were sitting, so they left. If you had taken the time to leave your computer in the warmth of inside, you could have made there's and our evening a lot more enjoyable and we all would've ended up spending more money and staying longer. I did ask to have another heater as one wasn't being used on the next table. This particular manager ridiculed the young waiter for moving it nearer to us and removed it back to where it was and offered us a blanket which we already had. The food portions are far too small! No side dishes were suggested upon ordering, not even sure if you offer sides? I feel the concept is lovely, but you need to sort out training your staff better, increase your choices on the menu, increase your portion sizes and tend to your customers to make sure they are happy, have what they need and you will increase your revenue in doing so and people will come back. Everyone I have spoken too feels the same way. I really want to come back and enjoy something very special in this wonderful setting. The food was very delicious, just not enough of it at all.
Wonderful setting, fantastic staff and quality food and drink. So lucky to have on our doorstep.
Great setting, attentive staff.
Wonderful Friday evening.
Fantastic as always.
Lovely venue, attention to detail re grounds and furnishings very indeed. Very classy without making guests feel on edge, staff looked great & very lovely, if i was Uber critical , a little forgetful re bar snacks (asked twice). 9.5 out of 10
Fantastic food and excellent service. Will definitely book again and look forward to sitting inside the lovely restaurant
Great new venue and will be back again soon
Excellent lunch as always, our fourth time. Very friendly and professional staff. The food is always delicious and beautifully presented. Looking forward to dining inside the restaurant again soon but the outdoor arrangement works well and makes the most of the immaculate terrace and gardens.
Just lovely. Service was fab and staff were so welcoming. Big thank you
The service was a bit slow considering it wasn't that busy. It was very cold sitting outside as the heaters don't really give off much heat and if it is raining then there isn't any protection from the weather. Maybe an awning would be a great addition. Beautiful setting and lovely drinks
Beautiful place with wonderful service and food. Will be back again and again!
This is our third visit to Eyas as the two previous experience were faultless. Unfortunately Saturdays was a very different experience. On arrival they didn’t appear to have our reservation so table not prepared, an issue with the online booking system we were told. We were a family group of 6 having a meal together to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We were asked to wait in the bar area (outside). Didn’t have to wait many minutes as table was prepared. We then waited a good 10 minutes to place a drinks order after prompting a member of staff. We also ordered a selection of light bites to accompany our pre dinner drinks. Our order for our meal was taken whilst waiting for our drinks. This meant our light bites pre dinner drinks and starters all arrived within minutes of each other. Not a great start. All evening we needed to prompt the waiting staff. The food was excellent as previous visits the service not so. There was another large group, a booking of 8 (who appeared to be working their way through the wine list) receiving the full attention of the staff leaving us feeling somewhat neglected. We understand the difficult situation the hospitality industry if facing during these restrictions and have every sympathy, but Saturday evenings experience was down to poor service.
Most enjoyable first visit.we were very well looked after.
