About Elements Bar & Dining
the title éléments is derived from the natural elements of fire, water and soil, components that resonate with the hunter valley region and are reflected
in the entire restaurant experience. these basic elements and quality produce
are transformed by our executive chef michael watson who has created a menu with an elements base, influenced by the flavours of france and italy.
Sarah did a great job in particular looking after us for dinner, nothing was too much trouble.
We have a great experience.Staff were wonderful, food beautiful.Would definitely visit again
Very friendly attentive staff well cooked and presented food
Disappointed as our meals were only lukewarm, should have been hot.
Great night thank you
Beautiful food once again. Dined here several years ago, and it is still as good. Staff were also excellent.
Breakfast was very nice and lovely views into the gardens
Excellent food and service. Coming this Sunday to enjoy again. Thanks.
I was very disappointed with this dining experience. The ambience was not at all as depicted in the photo gallery, which must be very old photos. We had a window seat, but as it was dark outside all we could see were plastic tables and chairs that looked like they had not been swept for a week. There was no fire pit glowing. Lighting inside was too bright. Table decorations were cheap ( tealight in cup that was tilted sideways). Walls needed a paint. It is always nice to have fresh bread rolls to start, unfortunately the rolls that were in the warming oven must have been sitting there since the start of service as they were slightly burnt on the base and dried out. We selected entree and main and asked if we could select dessert afterwards, depending on what we felt like. The waitress apologised and asked us to make all 3 selections upfront as we were the last table to be seated for the evening. We were served all three courses within one hour, with each course brought out as soon as the last was finished. For entree I ordered the pork belly, the quality was good however had no flavour. My friend had the lamb neck with beetroot, fetta and walnut side. This was tender and delicious. We both ordered beef fillet for mains, medium to well. They both came out well done. Although presented nicely, portions were small ( I am small eater) and my friend's was so dry she couldn't eat it all. It was not juicy and very bland in taste. We then had key lime tarts for dessert which were nice, the pastry was crisp however nothing to rave about. Being an Accor member I was very disappointed I could not use my discount card as it was a Public Holiday. This was not communicated to me at the time of booking online, in the booking confirmation email or at the restaurant. The fine print on the bottom of the printed menu (and website) advertise 2 or 3 course options with full Accor discount applying. If it is not accepted on Public Holidays, then it should be in writing .The service staff was very apologetic and mentioned this was to be put on website, but obviously not followed through. It was awkward as I had recommended to my friend who is on a tight budget. Had it been made clear at time of booking, I could have easily selected another evening. I rarely write reviews, generally only if it is an excellent experience, but I felt compelled to be honest about this one. To add to it all, there was a dead cockroach behind my chair and a black mouse outside running along the window sill and into the drainpipe. I will not be returning, even if receiving a full 50% discount card. Not a fine dining experience at all.
Beautiful and tasty food !
Everything was perfect, however clearly need more staff as someone who worked in hospitality. The staff that were on did an exceptional job despite their workload and could not fault them.
The service was great, sadly the food wasnt great
Hello I have eaten many times at Mecure dining room and enjoyed the expereince . On our anniversary on Saturday ,the fixed price menu; narrow menu selection and small portion sizes left me underwhelmed for the price. 2 glasses of wine and a bill for a 2 course for 2 people of $169 is excessive.
Great attentive staff. Quick service and delicious food. What more could one expect!
Good value if you take advantage of you Accor membership. Atmosphere pleasant and staff friendly and helpful.
It felt like a massive big common room, not a place I would say has the settings for a couples dinner. I would recommend your staff advising couples without children to eat from 730 onwards. It definitely wasn’t an enjoyable experience with screaming children
Very enjoyable dinner and breakfasts. Service quick and good selection of food choices. Very clean and staff courteous and polite. We had drinks from the bar and sat in the lounge - very comfortable and relaxing. The surrounding gardens and fountain was stunning
Would recommend the breakfast board, delicious with everything prepared to perfection. Staff extremely friendly and service excellent
Meals were average - and lighting in the restaurant too bright. No atmosphere and overall expensive
Amazing food and atmosphere was great staff were friendly and fantastic loved it highly recommended
We had a wonderful night for a 60th Birthday family celebration. The staff were amazing and my point of contact, Sarah, was particularly friendly, warm, welcoming and took care of our needs to the enth degree. Thank you Sarah. The food was great, wine selection to our liking and nothing was a bother to the staff. Prior to dinner we had a nice bottle of wine by the fireplace in the lounge area. The whole night was great and I would recommend this to anyone.
Very nice meal
My husband and I enjoyed our meal immensely. Everything was delicious and beautifully presented. The meal was served in a good time frame but we did not feel rushed at all. The host and hostess were very polite and welcoming. Our waitress was extremely friendly and considerate. It was a wonderful experience all round and we would definitely come again if we are on holiday in the area. Thank you so much!
I understand that the buffet breakfast had to be stopped due to Covid safety, however the buffet breakfast was a big draw card for our family and one of the main reasons why we choose to stay at Mercure. When I questioned one of the staff about the buffet breakfast, they indicated that it may not be brought back at all. If that were to be the case, then I feel it would be a huge mistake. By not having the buffet breakfast this time around, it certainly felt like we missed out on that experience, which we were looking forward to in the lead up to our holiday. I can only hope that it does in fact get re-introduced once it is safe to do so.
always happy with food and the service at mercure hunter valley
