Highlight of the night was the singing waiter. Excellent!!! selection at the salad bar were great. Only suggestion is to find a new source of baguettes. they looked good but I was disappointed with the consistency, which was too soft.

Rubin did a great job and food was good. I keep getting plates that have the corners broken. When the plates are broken bacteria can get into the openings because they are solid any more and dish washing may not disinfect them. should be thrown out and replaced.

Bolognese pasta over cooked and bland. Tuna served with the wrong sauce. Items requested like water not delivered. Chicken piccata served with Alfredo sauce and capers. All pasta overcooked.

We were very disappointed when we asked for bottle water and was told no. My spouse and son got very sick for 4 days after drinking water from the pitcher at this restaurant last time we stayed at El Cid. This restaurant will no longer be one we will visit again.

we were there for 90 min only had 3 interactions from. server brought wrong wine then said he would fix and never did. sat for 50 min waiting to get new water, drink or desert talking to 3 different people (hostes, 2 different servers) finally got our server with server saying we dont need to sign and we can go. for future not going to waste 1 of our dinners here. food was mediocre compared to other resorts food.

I had the ribeye and my partner had the salmon. Both meals were melt in your mouth delicious. Ribeye was huge. Way more than I could eat. We really enjoyed the singing waiter and the show he put on. I was quite disappointed in the salad bar, though. Not much variety and some of the containers were empty.

What a difference trained staff can make. They have worked with the kitchen and know about timing when serving. Food came out in a timely manner and it was warm or hot. Drinks were checked and refreshed as needed. As I have been saying training, unfortunately this is not a position that should rely on - On the Job Training!

we have been coming for over 20 years. This year my wife was in the hospital and I went to El Alcazar by myself. I do not think that my service by myself was anywhere as good as when both my wife and I went. I remember the buffet being much better before. It was lacking in variety. Hopefully it will be better next year.

This was one of my favorite restaurant for years and one of my Trip Advisor top reviews for Alcazar with 5,456 Readers. But since October it has been going down compared to February 2019. Last night was one of the worst and that is saying lot from the last time we ate there. It started with the drink order. I ordered a Jack Daniels and sprite and he served me a whiskey and sprite and I could tell immediately it was NOT Jack Daniels. If they would have said that they did not have Jack Daniels I could understand because this year so many of the restaurants do not have it in stock and are constantly having to send someone to get it. I went to the bar and the bar tender said they did not have it and he used Jim Beam. I would rather them tell me the truth than try to LIE about what they are serving. I can handle the truth, but not the deceit of what they are serving. We ordered 6 bowls of the tomato soup for 6 people a fairly simple order. When the waiter brought it out, he had a different soup he served 1st that NO ONE had ordered and asked everyone who ordered it. One of our guests took it and the others were 5 correct soups. I asked for some butter for the bread from the salad bar. I got some butter that had melted to the point it was almost liquid. I like soft butter but not butter melted. People who had the Salmon complained about the vegetables being cold. I had the Lasagna which usually is good, but last night it was a mix of spices that has not happened before. I pulled out 2 large bay leaves sand a bay leaf stem. These rea not edible and should NEVER been served. In addition, I had slices of baily that I end up pulling out. The table decides that it seemed that the same meat sauce on the Spaghetti Bolognese was the same sauce in the Lasagna. After we finished eating we waited and waited for our waiter to return. I finally asked Karla to find him. After he served the deserts, he again disappeared and I went up to the cashier and asked if we need a bill so we could leave. It should be noted that at this time only 11 tables were being used so it was NOT full. The table next to us had the same problem with a different waiter and ended up sending back their steak because it was full of fat and it too tough to cut. They talked to Karla about this too. After they left it was never cleaned even when we left over 1/2 hour later. I had a friend from Marina who was sitting by himself come to me and say he was going back for a second salad bar because the waiter was not coming to his table. The food has gotten worse, the service is nowhere as good as it used to be and as I stated when we left only 11 tables were being use. Alcazar this trip has moved from the top restaurant for years to a step above Pergola.

Pizza was amazing. Soups and cannelloni great However the caliber of the ribeye steak was poor as it was very tough and full of grissel and was the worst ribeye steak we’ve ever had and being from cattle country we eat a lot of ribeye steak. The reservation was very difficult to get and it took most of the week to get it. There were lots of empty seats when we arrived and we would have loved to eat at an earlier time.
