Good food especially the Goat Very busy so not a lot of atmosphere but still very enjoyable. Staff excellent & attentive
Excellent food and friendly service
A warm welcome with friendly and efficient service. We did not wait overlong between courses nor did we feel rushed The menu is expansive and we found the food of a high quality with generous portions. We went at 6pm but it was busy by then and the atmosphere had a nice vibe to it. We will definitely visit again.
Apologies for the late review. Eastern Eye is the finest kind. We had just got back into the country after four years in France, and were welcomed with open arms. The owner and his son spent time with us, the food was outstanding, and we left two very happy people, with a jar of their spice mix. We are back in France, and still making curries as recommended with the mix. Many thanks indeed.
Fantastic food brilliant staff! Thank you
Went out as two couples for a birthday meal very rushed atmosphere didn’t have time to finish popadoms before the starters arrived, we kept getting waiters coming to ask us if we had ordered our meal after we had already ordered. waiters hovered around the tables and as soon as the last mouthfull was off the plate they were taking the plates away, needs more organising on the service side felt like they just wanted to get us out and get the next booking in which ruined the whole experience of the evening. On a plus side food was great and large portions shame about everything else though. Would have to think twice before booking again I’m afraid which is shame as have been several times before and this has ruined the whole experience now.
Great food, good service reasonably proced
Always go to Lichfield for best curry st Eastern Eye
Our first time dining here, but certainly won't be our last, the service was outstanding, the food exquisite, amazing experience.
Great night. Hadn't been for a couple of years. Won't wait so long next time.
Starters great, main tasted like preheated chicken dumped in a sauce, white wine was warm, not impressed.
I have spent 15 years working within the ethnic food industry with major Basmati rice and ethnic ingredient suppliers. The Eastern Eye is the epitome of an excellent Indian Restaurant. The owner is the centre and the heart of this establishment, very knowledgeable and very engaging with his clientele. We also commend the wine waiter, very helpful for what type of wine would be suitable with what dishes
Wonderful food served in a restaurant full of atmosphere. It was packed on the night of our visit but no delay in service and I would recommend this restaurant to anyone
Can sometimes be a bit noisy. Great food and service. Large portions. Good value for money. Lots of choice on menu. A lovely evening.
Always amazing food here, staff are welcoming and friendly and your never rushed out the door , wouldn’t go elsewhere and always recommend to others
Fabulous meal and service, we will be back next time we are in the area.
We have been visiting Abdul at the the Eastern Eye for over 20 years and the standards have never dropped. He and his family always provide a warm and friendly welcome and the Indian cuisine is faultless. Freshly cooked inventive food, great service make for the best curry in the area.
Excellent food with very friendly service. We would definitely return.
Poppadoms were soft & stale. Requested them to be exchanged and they were promptly. Second lot were also a bit soft and even before asking these were swapped for fresh crisp poppadoms. Much better. The starters and the mains were excellent.m
Always come back to this restaurant , we live in Tamworth but can’t find one like this one , would recommend to all
First time in Lichfield for four of us - each one of us planning to move to Lichfield, but separately over three years. Absolutely vital, of course, to find a good Indian restaurant! All agreed it was the best food we'd tasted for many a year, and that's coming from people who dine all over London! Pity we're not moving in the next three weeks!
We booked an early slot, knowing that we would need to vacate by 8.15pm, however we were acutely aware that all the staff were aware of that fact, and we were being spoken about amongst waiting staff, which made us feel unnecessarily hurried. Other than that, all good.
Undoubtedly the best Indian restaurant - even best restaurant - in the area
Excellent meal & service - attentive staff, one of the best Indian meals that we have had, thoroughly enjoyed by all of the party. Thank you.
