About East Beach Cafe
Our food is classic English, including seaside favourites such as fresh, locally caught fish, East Beach beef burger, day boat fish soup and traditional fish & chips with pea puree. Additionally, we feature some of the best cuisine inspired by beach holidays abroad including our most popular dish, salt & pepper squid with chilli.
A very pleasant experience. To eat with no wall or anything between us and the vey attractive beach scene merely feet away was magical. Maddie, our waitress, was charming and efficient. We drove from Cambridge specifically to see the Heathwick architecture, but the time spent in your cafe was the highlight.
A freshen up of the paint on the back wall of the restaurant would improve appearances
HreT food and location. Very friendly service.
The scallop starter was very good; the tempura prawns overpriced. For mains: fish & chips is the best bet - the dish of the day Roast hake was very dry and the potatoes tasted as if they had been hanging around for too long - two of us left most of it. When we told the waitress she said that she would pass the comment to the chef. I’m guessing that they said ‘so what’ because nothing happened. It would have been nice if a free ice cream was given (which would have cost little but would have been rewarded with a better review!) The desserts were the best part of the meal. It cost £121 with one bottle of wine between three people so not cheap for a cafe. It was better last time that we went 4 years or so ago - we will not be going back.
It’s a pleasure to eat with tou
First class experience
The best fish & chips in West Sussex!
Excellent - other than - we sat down - and sort of ended up hanging out for ages waiting to be asked if we wanted a drink... Hint: when a table sits down - immediately ask if want water or a drink etc. Felt like other tables around us got a ton of attention and we were sort of sitting there waiting to even be noticed. Other than that - great food, wonderful view.
Fabulously cooked seafood
We had Crab, bacon and chorizo linguine and the Plaice which we both really enjoyed. The portion sizes were just right. A pleasant surprise.
Always superb. Wish East Beach was open 7 evenings a week all year round.
The location and food are excellent and the new male waiters that served us were really professional and really friendly.
We went for evening meal on a hot sunny day so the doors were fully open. Wonderful setting. However the fishcake was very disappointing, extremely tasteless, dry & overlooked, over priced. Others chose the mussels which were good.
Beautiful setting, great menu and super friendly staff. We went for breakfast both days on our trip and would definitely go again. We loved it!
As always, the service and food were superb, not surprised it was packed the second you opened!
A wonderful beach restaurant. Excellent food, delicious lightly battered, crispy fish and chips. A wide selection of other mains, starters and deserts catering for all tastes! Beautiful interior with the white walls and cosy modern LED candles. The multi folding doors lead directly onto the beach and provide a wonderful vista across the sea. Excellent service from both the waitresses and manager who circulated around every table checking you were happy, not in a “I have to do this as part of my job” way but in a genuine desire to get the service exactly right. This really is a wonderful find!!
Excellent fish, just difficult to decide what to eat!
Been here many times before. Feel the menu could do with refreshing and maybe a couple more vegan/vegetarian options. Staff always very good and great to have water put on table before having to ask for it. There was a musician playing and perhaps a little too loud but good. I had scallops for main and for £16.50 it would have been nice to have some veg along with some pea puree. My guests had the fishcake which they thought was good. The wine we wanted was not available which was a shame. Puddings were good.
The fish & chip special lunch that included a glass of fizz was very good & great value.
Always lovely !
Absolutely terrific place, go!, you won't be disappointed
Stunning venue, great food and service.
Glad it as busy, summertime, I think wintertime may prove more challenging due to the prices creeping up. Fish and fizz used to be £10, those days are long gone.
Fabulous evening the food was fantastic and the FB Pocket Orchestra were brilliant.
