About East Beach Cafe
Our food is classic English, including seaside favourites such as fresh, locally caught fish, East Beach beef burger, day boat fish soup and traditional fish & chips with pea puree. Additionally, we feature some of the best cuisine inspired by beach holidays abroad including our most popular dish, salt & pepper squid with chilli.
Super service, food and view
Overall we really enjoyed the meal and the service was excellent. Vegetarian choice was a bit limited. Foodwise my only criticism would be that the bread with the veg plate was flat and tasteless. Nice choice of drinks too.
Unique environment, friendly staff and good food. Toilets left a lot to be desired.
good weather would have been nice but it was November! Really loved it - amazing view and great food - the vegan food was perhaps a little bland but the veggie selection was delicious. Thank you will come again
Love this place. Sitting by the window looking out over the sea eating lovely food, served by friendly people. What more could you ask?
Excellent food, good location and very good service. Pity it is a 30 mile drive from where we live but well worth making a return visit.
Delicious fish platter
Refreshingly different beach cafe menu....great sea food choices. Staff made us feel very welcome & were very considerate of our children's needs. Delicious food & wine! Crab linguine was heavenly.
Lovely food and excellent service. Well worth a visit.
Great food, efficient friendly service, will definitely return.
We had a nice meal at lunch, the fish and chips were really good, the rose wine was nice and view was great as was the service. The kids pizzas were not great, cheese and tomato on a tortilla, they didn't really enjoy them. My husband was not impressed with his raspberry soda fizz felt it was poor value for £4 in a very small glass. He wasn't too impressed with the linguine was crab and bacon (couldn't taste any crab), although my sister in law said it was nice.
Best view and chips on the south coast
Great experience and very warm welcome - we'd definitely recommend you!
First class food & service. Really enjoyable lunch
A wonderful seaside location to view windsurfing and kitesurfing on a blustery lunchtime. This cafe has it all: great views, quirky architecture and super easy parking. But the most important thing to know is the food is fabulous and the service faultless. Look out for great evening events and check the winter opening times. This place is s winner!
Great food, friendly service and a seaview - fantastic venue for a family Sunday lunch.
Great choices on the menu with interesting specials board. Food attractively presented and portions plentiful. We had a very enjoyable meal.
Good quality food. Excellent service. Very friendly and interesting environment.
Lovey meal, great service will be returning!
We have been coming to the East Beach Cafe since it opened. The standard of food is very good, the staff are welcoming & friendly & we love it. However, sometimes the service is rather hit & miss. Our food on our recent lunch visit took an hour to arrive due, I'm sure, to a very large party of about 20 having pre-ordered & the kitchen was overwhelmed. But we will return!
A very pleasant experience. To eat with no wall or anything between us and the vey attractive beach scene merely feet away was magical. Maddie, our waitress, was charming and efficient. We drove from Cambridge specifically to see the Heathwick architecture, but the time spent in your cafe was the highlight.
A freshen up of the paint on the back wall of the restaurant would improve appearances
HreT food and location. Very friendly service.
The scallop starter was very good; the tempura prawns overpriced. For mains: fish & chips is the best bet - the dish of the day Roast hake was very dry and the potatoes tasted as if they had been hanging around for too long - two of us left most of it. When we told the waitress she said that she would pass the comment to the chef. I’m guessing that they said ‘so what’ because nothing happened. It would have been nice if a free ice cream was given (which would have cost little but would have been rewarded with a better review!) The desserts were the best part of the meal. It cost £121 with one bottle of wine between three people so not cheap for a cafe. It was better last time that we went 4 years or so ago - we will not be going back.
