About East Beach Cafe
Our food is classic English, including seaside favourites such as fresh, locally caught fish, East Beach beef burger, day boat fish soup and traditional fish & chips with pea puree. Additionally, we feature some of the best cuisine inspired by beach holidays abroad including our most popular dish, salt & pepper squid with chilli.
Fabulous lunch, great views and lovely staff. What more can I say....?
Delicious food and very good service but it was VERY hot and stuffy in the restaurant - suggest you need to put in some additional ventilation when the windows are shut in winter! It become quite uncomfortably hot and this would put me off from visiting again. A shame because everything else was great.
Great place for a lazy sea side lunch - for all generations
We had an excellent meal and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the East Beach Cafe to anyone.
Excellent all round
We’ll be back!!
Fab location, staff friendly and efficient, food was prompt, reasonable sized portion, nicely presented, tasty (we had the fish and chips).
Thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Food and service were excellent!
We try to visit the EBC at least 3 times a year and each time we enjoy good food, great service in very cool surroundings. Will be back at some point in the spring
We worth a visit to this interesting restaurant
Lovely dinner at the cafe. Good choice of imaginative fish dishes - well cooked and served.
food was excellent,we throughly enjoyed it.Good value for money as we had travelzoo voucher.
My husband had the fish and chips and was a bit disappointed with the amount of peas, very small portion
Lovely Cafe. The food was brilliant along with the service.
Service pretty shocking for the number of diners. Lovely lunch though.
A most enjoyable - lunch thank you very for excellent service. Our compliments to the Chef.
Thanks for the opportunity to comment. The acoustics make the room quite loud. A couple of specials were not available, although it was only 12.30 and there were few people in! The food was hot and quite well presented, however one of the child's portions of fish was a tail end and poor...we should have sent it back. I think that tables should be cleared of empty glasses etc and tables wiped, this did not happen. We ordered a couple of deserts, after 15 mins with no desert I asked again, clearly our order had been forgotten, the waitress said it was coming but would not be charged....even then it took a while to come even though I assume it was pre made and plated. All in all rather a disappointing experience for our first visit and poor value for money. A final thought, the entrance is not clearly marked from the outside. I would appreciate a return comment if possible.
Great location and very pleasant staff
Although a blowy overcast day, we enjoyed the view from the glazed front of the building on the seafront. The quality of the food was equal to a high class restaurant. The hake was lovely on a bed of creamy mash and spinach. However the tables and chairs and cutlery show it's underpinnings as a cafe, otherwise I would rate this 5* throughout. Thoroughly recommended.
Two relaxing evenings, attentive and courteous service. Excellent food and immediate responses to request for changes from menu.
Lack of atmosphere. Food arrived promptly after a long initial wait for drinks and order to be taken. It was early and there were few customers so no excuse. A lack of warmth and no real friendly welcome. Food was fresh and well presented.
We always enjoy eating at East beach café ,Great food polite service and a nice atmosphere .
Excellent evening, thanks so much. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. The added bonus was the entertainment that had been organised to celebrate a 60th birthday party! We'll be returning again soon, that's for sure!
dreadful service ruined our special lunch - chaotic restaurant management - i had to go and ask for service - all of our drinks were wrong or badly made and took 3/4 of an hour to arrive - i had to ask three times for bread and it was of poor quality when it eventually came - poorly trained staff and incompetent manager - such a disappointing experience d for a special family event - and overpriced too - soggy chips and lumpy avocado puree with hard chunks of avocado in it - oh dear - we left as soon as we could and didn't dare risk the dreary selection of puddings
we had a delicious meal including elderflower spritz and crab (with a bucket of chips) which was really fresh and tasty. The service was efficient and friendly and much better than we expected in a beach cafe. A welcome change to have service with a smile! Will definitely make the journey and be revisiting!
