About East Beach Cafe
Our food is classic English, including seaside favourites such as fresh, locally caught fish, East Beach beef burger, day boat fish soup and traditional fish & chips with pea puree. Additionally, we feature some of the best cuisine inspired by beach holidays abroad including our most popular dish, salt & pepper squid with chilli.
We do not allow dogs inside the cafe however they are welcome on the decking (no bookings for this area)
It was a most enjoyable experience. The food was excellent, the atmosphere relaxing and the service was efficient and friendly What more could you ask for??!! William Wells
Fantastic evening with great food
We were very very disappointed to find that the window seat we had was half obscured by a faulty shutter. Would have been nice on such a lovely evening to have had some piped music in the background to create a bit of atmosphere and even a little flower, candle or something on the blank wooden tables, even easier now with less of them, very staid cold appeal for a lovely spot, Could be so much nicer.
Fabulous late lunch celebrating our anniversary, great friendly service in such a great location. The seared scallops with red pepper purée and walnut pesto were superb.
Lovely food and very nice staff
We visited on a very hot day and had a good meal. The fish and chips was very good and the small group of staff worked very hard and provided excellent service and were very polite and friendly. On a less positive note, the toilets has not been properly attended and both the soap and hand sanitiser containers were empty which in the current conditions was disappointing.
On a hot day drinks were not cold enough and not enough ice. Toilets needed cleaning and tables. Staff were ll great but felt that there were not enough of them to keep the place well cleaned during coronavirus. Tables all well set out with plenty of room between diners which was good. Food was good but not amazing. Salted caramel tart for dessert had half a bucket of salt around it and about a tablespoon of sea salt on top which was bizarre and completely ruined what was a lovely tart.
Delicious food and good choices. The portion sizes were unbalanced eg fish and chips were huge portions but the scallops was tiny in comparison yet both were advertised as main meals. Just 1 slice of courgette per scallop seemed measly, the dish needed more veg/salad as a main meal or should have been advertised differently. However the number of scallops was satisfactory, beautifully cooked and tasty. The staff were excellent especially under such difficult circumstances for them. Covid constraints were well observed.
A fabulous place to eat, excellent food , friendly service with great social distancing measures in place and a wonderful view.
Delicious meal in a lovely setting.
A special place with a lovely location. Excellent food and good service. Excellent Bacchus wine too! Thank you!!!
Wonderful food, really friendly service - felt safe with all the distancing and safety measures and what a view of the sea and sky after months of lockdown! Thank you.
The food was nice but the lady who welcomed us was not very friendly and we were not left to feel very welcome...
Good coffee! All cv 19 measures in place. Well done!
Delicious meal. Great surroundings. A lovely lunch. Thank you.
Great meal and service!
COVID precautions well planned and executed allowing for a continued friendly atmosphere, great food and good service.
Excellent meal, as always
Wine was very expensive!
Anther excellent meal at EastBesch Cafe. Main course of scallops were perfectly cooked.washed down with a simple organic glass of Blonde lager. We then had a perfect dessert in a lemon posset and shortbread biscuit. Another great lunch Thanks D Howstd
In these strange Covid times this restaurant has well spaced tables, staff are masked, everywhere spotless. Menu is vibrant. We travelled from London for lunch - [email protected]
Good food and service. Would have felt like more of a luxury experience if there was more investment into the interiors I.e. preset tables and further decoration- perhaps modernise the tables and chairs. Food was delicious and good to have so many specials- more vegetarian options perhaps
Going to the East Beach Cafe is always the highlight of our trips to Littlehampton. If we can go there twice in the same day we try. If we can’t go there at all we won’t make the 90 minute trip down. Service is always friendly and the food is always well made and fresh and the beach is right there.
