About East Beach Cafe
Our food is classic English, including seaside favourites such as fresh, locally caught fish, East Beach beef burger, day boat fish soup and traditional fish & chips with pea puree. Additionally, we feature some of the best cuisine inspired by beach holidays abroad including our most popular dish, salt & pepper squid with chilli.
A wonderful beach restaurant. Excellent food, delicious lightly battered, crispy fish and chips. A wide selection of other mains, starters and deserts catering for all tastes! Beautiful interior with the white walls and cosy modern LED candles. The multi folding doors lead directly onto the beach and provide a wonderful vista across the sea. Excellent service from both the waitresses and manager who circulated around every table checking you were happy, not in a “I have to do this as part of my job” way but in a genuine desire to get the service exactly right. This really is a wonderful find!!
Excellent fish, just difficult to decide what to eat!
Been here many times before. Feel the menu could do with refreshing and maybe a couple more vegan/vegetarian options. Staff always very good and great to have water put on table before having to ask for it. There was a musician playing and perhaps a little too loud but good. I had scallops for main and for £16.50 it would have been nice to have some veg along with some pea puree. My guests had the fishcake which they thought was good. The wine we wanted was not available which was a shame. Puddings were good.
The fish & chip special lunch that included a glass of fizz was very good & great value.
Always lovely !
Absolutely terrific place, go!, you won't be disappointed
Stunning venue, great food and service.
Glad it as busy, summertime, I think wintertime may prove more challenging due to the prices creeping up. Fish and fizz used to be £10, those days are long gone.
Fabulous evening the food was fantastic and the FB Pocket Orchestra were brilliant.
Great meal and excellent music
Love the building, staff friendly and professional food really good and good value. Three stars because it is a strange ambience between continental exclusive and trad uk seaside bank holiday...no complaints though!
Pretty good for a birthday celebration on a busy Saturday evening. For all the emphasis on fresh and best ingredients it's a shame you insist on using rapeseed oil which is a GM product that was toxic to humans before it was modified. It still causes significant problems to a lot of people.
Looking out to sea as you eat is wonderful!
Food was amazing , staff were very friendly and helpful. Cannot wait to go back .
All very good from atmosphere to food we will be back!
Just simply Fabulous 😊
We seemed to wait a while between courses, but I guess that is a good sign that the food is being cooked fresh. It was a busy Saturday night, it took a while to get our plates cleared. We did order coffee with our desserts, which didn't arrive (didn't get charged, so I guess it was just missed off). There was a lady constantly walking around checking everyone was ok, sometime you want to be left alone to enjoy the food.
We booked s table in order to celebrate my mum’s 70th birthday. The meal was good, but we were really disappointed and angry to be told that we couldn’t order dessert as you needed the table for the next booking. We had only been there 1.5 hour - we ordered right away (after arriving a little early) and shared a few starters and fizz, but had to wait for about 40 minutes for our main courses to arrive. We expected to be able to enjoy a full meal, including dessert and ideally coffee/more drinks, and were shocked to be asked to leave. Up to that point the service had been good.
Great cafe all fine. Recommended . Note: Expensive council car park at £3.20 for 2 hours adjacent. Worth looking for roadside nearby.....
The food is fairly expensive for a beach cafe and every time I go the toilets are always in need of some attention which puts me off my meal.
Lovely place, they have good service, nice food. Only disappointment was the sharer meze platter which was priced £14. Except a bowl of falafels , the two dips and little flat breads , olives were so insufficient for 5 people to share. It was very disappointing.
Lovely meal in a cosy atmosphere. Welcoming staff, the only disadvantage was very little for the vegetarian.
Consistently good food. Service was lacking on this occasion.
Monday - quiet hence 4 stars for atmosphere. Btw lunchtime kiosk - waited 35 mins to learn sold out of sandwiches & snacks under hot sun. Loved the evening food. Great team on.
Great choice of fish and seafood. Beautiful building and view of the sea. Worth the long drive from London - at least on a sunny day.
