About Dux Dine
Dux Dine is situated in a historic turn-of-the-century Villa that was originally the Station Masters House for the Riccarton Railway.
The villa has been extensively but sympathetically reworked to provide a variety of spaces to be enjoyed whether it be an intimate candlelit dinner for two, a large group celebration at one of the huge Kauri tables, grabbing a morning coffee at the breakfast bar, enjoying a drink in the Lounge room, meeting friends for lunch in the sun drenched verandah or enjoying a platter in the sheltered verdant courtyard.
The original homeliness of the villa has been maintained making Dux Dine welcoming and very comfortable but with many fun and quirky elements to be discovered and revealed over subsequent visits. Come and enjoy our famous Dux hospitality and discover your favourite spot to be.
We had a great night. See you on the other side.
65 is expensive for what you get The seafood chowder was bland The dips were not very good And 6 olives. Why so parsimonious ?
Great food and wine. Awesome service. Thank you.
Welcoming staff, lovely waitress, great food! 🤩
Your menu says that the Caesar Salad has a Dairy Free option available. We were aware that this would mean the meal would come without cheese yet when we ordered this the waitress returned and advised that the Croutons and the Dressing had dairy in them and they would have to be removed from the meal to make it dairy free. Therefore the "salad" would be Lettuce, Egg and Avocado.. that is all. We decided it wasnt worth taking out the dressing and my partner advised that he would just "cope with it" and eat it with the dressing and the croutons.... the meal then came out WITH cheese all through it as well. Not impressed. This is NOT a DFA meal.
Slightly disappointed to see how much the menu has shrunk, still really great options on there but not as many vegetarian as in the past.
Very good food. Would like to see a few more items on the menu. Staff very friendly and efficient. Lovely building but suffers from being very noisy when crowded. Some noise-reducing baffles on the ceiling would help.
Excellent service, food and coffee as per usual!
A big thank you to the team at Dux
Lovely food, service and place.
You are always so friendly and helpful. Food mouthwatering. Keep up the great work.
Service was a bit slow tonight
Our favourite restaurant in Christchurch. Always the same fabulously food and great service.
We are regulars and love it here
Another lovely quick pre movie dinner. Friendly efficient staff. Always a pleasure to dine at the Dux. Must be nearly 40 years since my first meal there. Better than ever. :-)
Excellent service and yummy food!
Food is delicious. Would be great if the lunch menu could also be available in the evening as we work in the day ( even in the weekends) and unable to enjoy for example the beer battered fish in the evening as only served at lunch.
Delightful setting, excellent food, good service and we left replete.
Lovely evening out with a vegan friend. Thoroughly enjoyed. Thanks.
Excellent meal once again - our favourite Restaurant!
I love to dine here every now and then.
Service was efficient with staff having clear information about menu
Very nice venue. Staff were exceptional.
Lovely setting for a brunch catch-up. We were outside, the sun shone, and we didn't have to shout to each other. A very pleasant relaxed occasion. Thank you.
