About Dux Dine
Dux Dine is situated in a historic turn-of-the-century Villa that was originally the Station Masters House for the Riccarton Railway.
The villa has been extensively but sympathetically reworked to provide a variety of spaces to be enjoyed whether it be an intimate candlelit dinner for two, a large group celebration at one of the huge Kauri tables, grabbing a morning coffee at the breakfast bar, enjoying a drink in the Lounge room, meeting friends for lunch in the sun drenched verandah or enjoying a platter in the sheltered verdant courtyard.
The original homeliness of the villa has been maintained making Dux Dine welcoming and very comfortable but with many fun and quirky elements to be discovered and revealed over subsequent visits. Come and enjoy our famous Dux hospitality and discover your favourite spot to be.
The only thing I would fault is the time between entree and main was too short and our entree dishes hadn't been cleared before the main dishes arrived. The food and wine was delish as always!
Pretty disappointed this visit, although the bar was set very high the first time I visited last year. Something's changed, the service was quite poor this time and we ended up leaving and going somewhere else for dessert after sitting amongst our dirty dishes for about 45 mins.
Absolutely delicious food and great service, always!
Spanakopita would of tasted nicer without the carrots in it. This ruined flavour. Ice cream portion on affagatto too small and fish of the day portion tiny for cost of $22. Sides were great. Polenta chips and arancie balls delicious. Service was slow. An hour between entree and main.
We had a lovely dinner
It was an amazing experience. The staff are top notch, they are attentive but not too pushy just right and very accommodating. I love my experience dining there with my husband. We are going again.
Very nice venue to celebrate our dad's birthday, thank you for a lovely day
Great service and yummy food.
Always enjoy our lunches at the Dux, consistently the food and service is very hard to beat 👍
Great place. Food is always consistent and good wine selection
Great atmosphere and nice energy around the restaurant and with the staff. Food was nice but not outstanding. Service was friendly and informative.
Amazing healthy food!
Best restaurant in Christchurch
Marcus very very attentive and friendly ..very much a people person! Thank you!
I love your food and your wine selection is great ! This combined with warm friendly staff all located in an attractive setting - what’s not to like. Dux Dine is still one of my favourite restaurants!
Faultless service and exceptional food
Lovely place but was a bit chilly for my 85 year old grandma on the deck but the staff did put on the heater when asked. Food was good, really enjoyed the polenta fried and new vegan pizza. Drinks were a bit pricy, ordered a Peckhams cider for $11 not realising it was a 300ml can not a bottle. Overall would go back again for the quality service and great food.
The service was not what we usually experience. Once seated it too a long time to order drinks and for them to arrive. Also we received 2 of our 4 main meals 10 minutes before the other 2 arrived. Very disappointing.
Fantastic food and fantastic service, we will be back ASAP!
Was hard to decide what I was going to get from the menu as it all sounded delicious!
We were sat in the conservatory which was freezing cold at first. Calamari was just slightly over cooked still edible though. Overal we enjoyed the meal.
As always, great food and excellent service. The client I was meeting with hadn't been here before and was so impressed he said he would definitely be changing his usual and booking business lunches here in the future.
Nice as always.
We loved the character of the building. It had a great atmosphere. We were excited meeting up with family who were heading back overseas and enjoyed the many drinks on offer. My husband and I were disappointed in our entree of calamari. It was deep fried to a crisp with insufficient batter coating it. We dined early but no salmon available. My main dish of sole was overpowered with a topping resembling flour and fine breadcrumbs. We were a little bit disappointed in the food.
