About Dumfries Arms Hotel
Our relaxing restaurant offers a unique dining experience with comfortable booth seating and menus that will cater for all tastes and appetites.
No matter how hungry you are, we will have an option for you in our restaurant. Why not choose from our tempting main menu which has some of our tried and tested dishes on it, along with a selection of the chef’s specials for that day?
Not that hungry? During the day we offer our light bite menu, providing you with a selection of lighter dishes to choose from. For those looking to eat earlier in evening, we have our early bird menu. Something for everyone and real home cooked food at its best. Should you have any dietary requirements then please let us know and we will be happy to accommodate.
In our private dining room or at one of our larger restaurant tables, we can offer parties of 10 or more a selection of our favourite dishes on a slightly reduced menu. Individual requirements can be discussed and the option to have two or three courses can also be made available. At the Dumfries Arms we pride ourselves on our flexible approach.
We had a lovely meal and drinks after. Plenty of choices on the menu which made deciding what to eat difficult. Lovely atmosphere, will definitely be back 😊
This was the best meal out that we had in ages.
Sadly we didn’t enjoy our meal. The goats cheese implied it was crumbled and not depp fried. I chose the beef which was very poor. The steal pie was lovely. Although the sticky toffee pud was extremely tasteful my daughter’s was served in a soup quantity of sauce. Overall a disappoint experience. The DA has been a place of choice when visiting the area but no more.
Good food, great service.
Always enjoy our stay at the dumfries arms hotel

Lovely restaurant, lovely food and friendly helpful staff who did everything they could to accommodate all our requests
Lovely food, piping hot and great service. Warm and inviting surroundings, would highly recommend.
My chicken was overcooked and dried out. As a consequence it was hard around the edges! Not what i expecred from such an establishment. Told the waitress who said she would feedback to chef. No response whatsoever. Grossly disappointed.
Would be useful to be able to add tip to bill when paying by card.
It was our first visit to Dumfries Arms, and we were not disappointed, the menu was good and between the four of us we had the salmon, Cajun chicken curry, and the blade of beef bourginon and all the meals were delicious. The sweets were also delicious, will definitely be coming back again
For the price of the food it wasn’t very good. The service of the staff was nice
Really enjoyed the food and service. Will definitely recommend to friends and will definitely be back again.
I have only given three stars for atmosphere because your lovely lounge bar was completely spoiled by having the television on all day!
Good and staff were excellent although the coffee was cold and the food could have been a bit hotter.
Overall the decor and environment were well maintained and very tasteful. Unfortunately I was served undercooked chicken and it took 7-8 minutes to catch the attention of a staff member to let them know this. There was no check back to our table to ensure we were happy with our food. After brining the chicken to the attention of the waitress she immediate removed it to the kitchen before returning to inform me that it was apparently a vein and not undercooked at all according to the chef. I can assure you it was pink. I was offered a new meal which after waiting so long to get the attention of the staff the rest of my party had finished their meals before I had reordered mine. This made the the meal very disappointing and spoilt the expwrience for us. My replacement meal was cooked this time and the chef had clearly taken the time to check this with several pieces of chicken been torn to see the middle was not pink. At a minimum a check back to the table could have improved this experience.
