About Duke of Edinburgh Hotel
Here at the Duke of Edinburgh, we offer delicious quality food, sourced from local suppliers, and created for you by our dedicated team of chefs. Our intimate Bistro restaurant seats twenty eight people and provides the perfect setting, seven days a week, for a relaxing meal with friends, family or colleagues. In addition we have our Vaults Restaurant, which can seat over fifty people and also offers an intimate cocktail bar.
Our Head Chef is Mr Andrew Webber, formerly from The Black Cock Inn at Broughton in Furness. Prior to his last four year role in Broughton, he enjoyed a fantastic career with some quality local establishments, including The Armadale and The Custom House. Andrew takes great personal care over every element of his menu, from the traditional, casual dining options through to the finely crafted options. Using the latest cooking equipment including Sous Vide, Rationale ovens and other modern methods, Andrew has combined traditional standards with modern techniques. This is not a microwave kitchen!
All our quality food is made from the best ingredients, sourced from local suppliers, and is lovingly created by our hard-working team of chefs. Much of our fish is caught locally by Morecambe Bay fishing vessels, our meat is selected from local butchers, vegetables arrive from a Lancashire based supplier and we try to bake much of our bread on site.
We ate here on a Sunday. The deal of two courses for £13 was really reasonable and the food was fresh & tasty. I cannot fault any of the staff, as they were very friendly, service was fast and we were well tended to for drinks throughout our meal.
This was a lovely afternoon tea and for a friends baby shower the food was excellent the cakes were amazing thank u so much
Reception staff very helpful and friendly. Restaurant food and drink all good quality and priced reasonably. Room comfortable and quiet.
Had an amazing meal, great value for money and some lovely waiters. Would love to hear about any more themed nights.
Our second visit here, we love this hotel, very clean and relaxing, the staff couldn’t be more helpful. We will be back again I’m sure.
Food was really tasty, served on time, staff were great too. Will be coming back very soon.
Lovely evening. Excellent service from Chris and his female colleague (can't remember her name, sorry). Very friendly and made very welcome. Thank you.
Dissatisfied with the complications caused by the problem with the menu being different on the website, and even though we told them several times it still didn't get changed. The majority of the food was excellent, the only disappointment beingthev5 chicken dishes ,the chicken was dry and tough plus's a lack of vegetables.Even with these grievances we would recommend this Venu.
Enjoyed the Jamaican evening - food was beautifully cooked and presented and as always received service with a smile.
Had a lovely meal great value for money £3 starter and £6 main got loads on the plate to be honest i didnt expect the amount we got with it being a very reasonable price however we were all pleasantly surprised 4 of us went for garlic mushrooms to start then three of us went for burger, amazing and two others opted for the fish and chips again amazing then we all had deserts with the price being excellent will defo be back and would highly recommend the duke of edinburgh
My friends and I, were very impressed with our food, the staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. We will definitely be coming again.
Beautiful food, and attentive service. Atmosphere and ambience were spot on. We will definitely be back
Delicious, fresh food as always!! Our waiter, Chris gave exceptional service. Thanks so much!!! Highly recommend
staff are always friendly and helpful & help to make lunch/evening meal/or just drinks very enjoyable.
The best Sunday Lunch ever !!
I had the soy & garlic chicken burger and my partner had the fish and chips, the food was absolutely delicious but the chips with both of our dishes were a little underdone but other then that it was all 5 star!
Excellent food, atmosphere and service. Would definitely go again and recommend to family and friends.
We loved the Vault, will definitely return.
Gorgeous food, friendly staff and good service
Booked the downstairs room for a private function with buffet at relatively short notice. A lovely environment. The food was excellent, and the service was top notch.
The food was very good but the service let it down. Waitresses bringing food to our table which wasn't for us and on another occasion wondering round with more food not knowing where to take it. Our waitress asked us to "hold on" as we put our order in because she could use the technology. Unfortunately we would not come for food again because of this.
Lack of bread with our starter and no chutney or parsley sauce. Our first time here for a meal, cannot see us rushing back again. On a good point we love the bar area.
Some more menus needed, as we had to wait to look at one. Staff were helpful. Food was excellent.
The food was not piping hot and my mother sent hers back as it was only warm. The beef was excellent but those that had the turkey were a little disappointed with the quantity and the gravy lacked flavour. We were really looked by forward to our lunch but left feeling that as it was later in the day the experience was not what we expected. Oh and there was a long wait for three of our party we had nearly finished by the time theirs arrived.
Staff helpful, courteous and polite. Seamless transition between bar and restraint. Good selection of food and drink and prompt service. Very enjoyable evening.
